it's been 3 weeks!

& today is my last day with the AP team. hmmm... and also the first time i'm blogging in the office. hahaha. i'm not slacking; work starts officially at 7.45 so now it's still a non-working period!

i've learnt many many things throughout these 3 weeks, now that i look back. ytd i was suddenly given a whole stack of documents that i learned how to process during day 2 and ytd i was doing it like i've done it for 10 yrs. hahaha my point is that i realised i learned so much over the 3 weeks, such that those stuff which i struggled with in the first few days, i find it so easy now.

also, the ppl here are really really nice. they are generally mandarin-speaking, which gives me the homely feeling (: and my supervisor is really really nice too. she doesn't stress me and lets me do work at my own pace :D and i'm so grateful that she invited me to join her clique for lunch and i have been eating with them for 3 weeks alr (: and over the days i feel that i'm comfortable enough to chat with them ^^ so no more awkwardness during lunch time!

oh, there's also this korean uncle (i think he's a manager or someone in a high position cos he has a room of his own lolol) which speaks to me every other day. cos my seat is near the pantry, so whenever he goes to the pantry and sees that i'm not very busy, he will say hi and start chatting. he tells me abt his daughter though, bcos apparently i'm the same age as his daughter. hahahaha. should i let him know that i know how to speak basic korean? it'll be so cool if i can converse with him in korean.

okay! 5 more mins before i start work. i shall end this post abruptly.

just now at the interchange

a middle-aged lady came up to me & asked, "你有没有两块? 我要搭地铁." she was sweating all over & she looked like she was in a rush to somewhere. so i thought, okay, $2 is not a lot of money, & $2 is a reasonable sum to borrow if you're taking the train. & if this $2 can allow her to get to her destination then i'll be doing a glod deed!

so i took out my wallet wanting to check whether i had any $2. apparently i didn't. i only had $10 and $5 notes. i cldn't possible give her so much money mah, so then i checked whether i had any coins. like maybe give her $1 then she can go get $1 from someone else. but i only had 10c and a few 5c, which i doubt the GTM at the mrt stn wld accept. so i told her sincerely, "对不起，我没有两块."

then guess what she did. she stared at me & just walked away. -.-" she didn't even say thank you!! then i observed her asking other ppl, and ALL of them didn't even bother to check their wallets before rejecting her. i was nice enough to check & then she didn't even say thanks. why are ppl like these nowadays. the other ppl at the interchange also. why can't they just take out their wallets to check?

first day of work!

& i actually did nothing. lolol.

okay actually i familiarised myself with the surroundings alr. at least i know where the toilet, pantry and the canteen is. these are very important places (:

so, this morning, we spent about 1.5 hr with the HR manager, and she briefed us on the overview of the company as well as other important things that we need to know during our internship here. then she brought us arnd the area, and also to introduce us to some key personnel that we should know.

then after that the 3 interns split up to go to their respective functions and i was brought to meet the accounts controller. he then gave me a more detailed break-down of the accounts department's organisational chart, and then introduced me to all the employees in the department. i dunno how many ppl i've met today @.@ and i've forgot most of their names. :/ i only rmb 6 ppl. lol.

then i had lunch tgt with another intern (Jolyn) and a few managers. hehehe. but they didn't give me the overpowering feeling. they're all VERY NICE PPL!!! :D so they kept asking us abt the education system in ntu and nus now & it's very different from their time.

so after lunch i continue to nua again. just kept reading the materials they passed to me (even though i think i'm not obliged to complete reading) cos i was just waiting for the IT person to settle my computer. there was some accessibility issues & he had to do encryption and whatever. lol. so in the end my comp only got settled at 3.30. so i went to tell my supervisor my comp is ready, is there any work i can do? then she just ask me to do some online training courses first. lol. cos work ends at 4.15 so if i start now then i may not be able to go on time so might as well start tmr. ahaha!

and the online training courses is must complete one. totally reminds me of the army ord quiz. LOLOL. so i completed some today! and then at 4.05 everyone started packing alr. and then i understood why. cos at 4.25 the bus will leave. & if the bus leave, you got no choice but to take 254 and spend $1.31 and waste 10 mins. cos the shuttle bus journey only takes half an hr. hahaha.

am looking forward to work tmr!!!! i believe it will be fun (:
