yayyy my 4 days off are nearly here! :)

was on call on sunday night - probably my best on call shift yet, though i will admit i haven't done many. had a couple of calls before 10pm but didn't have to go in, and then my phone was quiet till 6.15am. and then i had to go in and assess someone and organise for her to be transferred to the women's. sarah came in to help me but it was good practice considering i'd never organised a transfer through PIPER before and i had to do one on my own today! good timing.

after i finished my on call shift j and i went to town (as in warragul town) for breakfast. wanted to try either earth market or grange but they were both closed (queen's birthday public holiday) so we ended up at frankie's. which was alright. but j's big breakfast was so huge he couldn't finish it haha. and that is saying a lot because he eats like a horse.

went back home to check on the cat and then went on an impromptu trip to the yarra valley with daniel. had lunch + ale + cider at the coldstream brewery, then went to a couple of the wineries and the chocolate factory (free samples yay). ended it off with a stop at yarra valley dairy where j bought me moscato and cheese. :) i really think that if he wasn't there to stop me i would have collected so many random kitchen things by now.

and then it was back to work today. transferred a gynae patient to moorabbin and an antenate with pre-eclampsia to box hill. another antenate with twins was being transferred to us from wonthaggi but she hadn't arrived yet by the time i finished. oh and randomly, sarah baked banana bread! which i managed to steal a slice of when i went down to clinic for patients i didn't know had been booked for me.

tomorrow i'm in theatre in the morning and then i'm offfffff for 4.5 days!!! was kind of hoping to be able to go somewhere further (ie. sunshine coast/ perth) during that time but it's always better to be with j. really looking forward to our short getaway to the great ocean road. :)

j reckons that one day i'm going to lose the cat when i randomly let him wander around outside while i take the rubbish out. i miss living in geelong where i could let him wander around outside without having to worry about him being run over by a car.

and also, our lion king day is coming up! :D can't believe it's been like 2 months since i booked the tickets. yay 21 june.


yay it's friday night again. though not the end of the week yet for me. E is sick (apparently she's down with the flu) so we're all having to work a bit harder. the last time i had 2 days off in a row, it was 16-17 may. was really looking forward to having 2 days off in a row this sun and mon (queen's birthday) but i ended up having to do the sunday night on call. which means the next time i will have 2 days off in a row will be next weekend (13-14 june). i'm quite amazed that it will have been nearly a whole month. i'm so exhausted! thankful for a half day this wed and a day off on thurs!
