absence;
tonight is on call night again. but it's the last one for a while! :D yay.
worked with a different boss today. she was really nice. though i was a bit apprehensive at first because the last time (the first time) i met her my patient was going for an emergency caesar.
we had no deliveries today. well, one, but she was a GP patient. and she ended up having a 3rd degree tear that had to be repaired in theatre too.
pete sent a lady in who had an ?ectopic pregnancy. G2P0 6/40 by dates, and she'd had an ectopic last Nov and had a right salpingectomy. thankfully though, when we did the laparoscopy the bleeding seemed to have come from the right ovary. which means she could keep her left tube! which means she can still get pregnant without having to try IVF. :) yay.
seems like everything is quite settled on the ward for now so hopefully it'll be a quiet night. that would be lovely.
yesterday was my day off so i spent it mostly at home with the cat (who mostly just slept in my bed all day). went out to run some errands - closed my nab account, walked across the mall to deposit the money in the other bank, collected my david jones delivery etc. cooked rice cooker claypot chicken rice for dinner. we also had the bottle of oakridge reisling after dinner. i still think moscato is nicer, j thinks i wasted $70 haha.
so yes my david jones skincare stuff arrived. ;p j's best friend (the best man) yucheng convinced me to start using products on my face. mainly because i didn't want to look 20 years older than his fiance next time when we're having dinner together, ha. bought a bunch of grown alchemist products (partly because i like the packaging) and didn't have to pay much because of uncle wesley's wedding gift (a david jones gift card) yay. thanks uncle wesley!

it's nice having the cat back, though he already pooped on the floor once. we're kind of sharing the responsibility since i've been staying at home every night since we got him back. in fact, this is the first night i'm staying in the new cottage in warragul. wonder how long i can keep this up with the hour-long drives. it's a lot of V to be drinking.

ugh i so dread thursdays and fridays. plus apparently there are too many inductions and not enough spots.... i can only hope they're mostly GP patients, but who knows. :(
got to do 3 D&Cs and 1 suction curette today. with the D&Cs i was just the assistant because the senior reg did the hysteroscopies (and most of the rest of it, really, we had really difficult cervices today). but i did the entire suction curette myself and so my name was on the op report as the primary surgeon. ;p how cool is that! though it was only a suction curette haha.
nearly fell asleep during teaching. it just seems too ambitious to cover that many topics in one afternoon: breech, vacuum delivery, twins, IUGR, and PROM/ PPROM. zzz.
bought tickets to the lion king! yay! but that's still like 3 months away hurhur.
can't wait for the weekend.

yesterday was my first day doing an elective theatre list in warragul. did 3 D&Cs and inserted 1 mirena. :) thankful for minors lists heh, they are so quick. plus i don't have to do the more difficult parts like the hysteroscopy/ endometrial ablation/ LLETZ.
went to mmc for contraception counselling clinic after. nearly didn't go because i couldn't find parking at the train station, ha. but i managed to find parking elsewhere so i forced myself to go. it was good though. and really quick too. saw 2 patients who wanted mirenas (but weren't quite ready to have them inserted) and 1 who wanted a tubal ligation. contraception clinic is a lot easier than menopause clinic. much more within my comfort zone.
j came home after he finished work (he's doing the late shifts) so we both got to stay at home. did a load of laundry which mostly dried by the time we left home this afternoon. went out for brunch at South of Johnston (SOJO), which was not bad. corn fritters comparative to mart130, though j thinks mart's is better (i only had a bit so i probably can't judge). it's nice to get to have weekday brunch.
i get today off, then tomorrow it's back to theatre and teaching, then thursday ward and overnight on call, and friday ward again. and then we get the weekend off and i get to see my baby again!!! the plan is to go get him first thing in the morning.
we keep forgetting to tell michael when we can't be on duty and keep being rostered on when we can't do it. and then we keep having to swap with people and they must think we are super annoying. :|
i want to go watch the lion king! but people have bought their tickets out super early and there aren't that many days where we're both not working. so far mid-end june looks promising, provided j doesn't mind the $400 price tag, ha (i'm sure he will mind).
when i'm not working i'm so restless i just keep eating non-stop. D:

it's been a month since i last blogged. a really busy month too.
attended a dranzcog exam revision course, but now i'm reconsidering actually taking the exams, as i do.
met up with charm and the rest of the gang when she was in melb for her conference. med school was such a long time ago, i miss the days when all we had to worry about were lectures and tutes and assignments. hanging out in the library taking naps in between.
flew back to sg to send opi off. it was a busy first few days at the wake, funeral, and columbarium. never really thought about it before, but my grandmother was really a proverbs 31 woman. after all of that, j flew back and i went to stay with him at his place, which was a whole new experience too. married life doesn't feel that different from life before, particularly when we don't have family around here.
came back and had a busy couple of days at work, 12 hour days and overnight on call. managed to get out of working sunday (today). j moves back to clayton at the end of this coming week and i'm going to be alone in warragul. have to move to the paeds cottage too and maybe attempt to be friendly.
i've kind of given up on making friends now. i think i used to make some effort, but now i just feel that it isn't worth it and i would rather just keep to myself and be a hermit.
we get becky back this saturday! :) only for 2 weeks though, then he will have to go back to a cat hotel for another 2 weeks because we're going for OC and then back to sg and koh samui. we're putting him in a different cat hotel this time, partly because lara is very out of the way, and partly because i think they'll judge me for always being away and abandoning my cat.
23 days till our second honeymoon! and on thursday it will have been 3 months. :) every time i watch someone else's wedding video on fb, he watches it with me and then goes "ours was nicer. don't you think so? let's watch ours!" our long wedding video will be ready at the end of march! fingers crossed he doesn't lose it, ha.
