i have an interview tomorrow! at northern hospital. i'm quite ambivalent about it actually.. nervous but not caring too much. :| i think it's because i think my chances of getting a job here are so low that i think there isn't much point. :\ like.. i might as well just go back to sg. :| rawr.
talked to perryn again after the revision lecture on shock. he said "this is the second time i'm talking to you, and again it's after a lecture. this is just wrong lah." so he's inviting himself over sometime after the CKT to catch up haha.

thought of a strange question yesterday. asked it since it just occurred to me.. though i suppose things could change between now and then.

i don't understand why adriano zumbo's macarons aren't all the same size since they use a machine to pipe the shells.
this species of penguin can fly. :O so weird! it seems so impossible from their body:wing proportion haha.
my mother keeps telling me my legs are like sticks but i really don't see it.
my bb battery died today. like, completely flat, which was weird, considering i'd charged it last night and hadn't used it that much today. and that never happens. :|
nearly ran over a kitten today, it was just standing near the middle of the road. i did get out to check on it, but it hopped away like a rabbit. weird kitten.
my parents with pastor kong hee, and pastor john and rachel from chc sydney! stole this off ps kong hee's twitter haha. they were at the transformation conference.. with jayesslee (!!). my mother bought that trench coat from glebe markets, and my father is 12 months pregnant (or so his colleagues say). and i think it's a bit unfair that ps john and rachel didn't get a mention in his tweet, ha. just saying.shall attempt to sleep early tonight.

back from sydney! so so so tired! but i managed to drive myself home haha. want to collapse in bed now.

sydney was good! not really a holiday holiday but got to shop a bit, sightsee a bit, take photos (one roll, though it stopped at 33, i have no idea why :\), listen to many testimonies, meet cool people (eg. chc sydney's senior pastor and his wife), sleep.
slept at 9+ on friday and 10+ on saturday. woke up at 7ish both days, but still felt tired haha. visited the opera house to take photos on friday. driving and parking in the city is a pain! even more so than in melbourne. :| went to glebe markets on saturday morning and got 3 dresses for $30. :) met joce at adriano zumbo's patisserie. :) was good seeing her again, especially since i wasn't around when she visited earlier this year. got to sit in her car again! the strange thing was that when i first saw her car (with a nsw plate), i thought, hmm, that might be joce's car. then she went around the roundabout again and i saw that it really was her! haha.
visited chc sydney this morning. the congregation is mostly korean. there was this guy popping in front haha. also this kid came to say "hi zheh zheh" and i didn't know who he was until later (he's my parents' friends' kid and he's super intellectual). went to chilli box for lunch, had so much food. soft shell crab! talked to the pastor and his wife a bit more. he's a dentist haha. he noted that my top teeth were straight and asked if i'd had orthodontics done before. also celebrated my mother's birthday with what i think was a butter-mozarella cake, which was really good. went back to my parents' friends' place for coffee/ mandarins, then the uncle sent me to the airport.
i like qantas' new domestic self-check in baggage thing.
my father offered me a job in his clinic for 3 days a week in exchange for tata's leica.
bought the donna hay macaron kit! i am determined to make perfect macarons! ;p haha. it only makes 12 though.. adriano zumbo's sell for $2.30 each. if i could do that, i'd be rich lor. no need to be doctor already. yay! though i think the point of me going to sydney was really to convince me to be a doctor.. (yes i realise that i am graduating soon)
dreading tomorrow (and the rest of the week, really), but i'm not letting myself think about that now. so tired!

off to sydney in 8 hours! :) and in that 8 hours, i have to sleep, wake up, do the last minute packing, drive to the airport car park and check in. :) figure i'll just check my bag in since i don't want to lug it around haha.i've been to sydney twice, i really don't know what to do this time. the only thing i have a clear idea about is that i want to take a spinner photo with the sydney opera house in it! that, and the bridge maybe. ;p other than that, maybe probably the weekend markets, where i'll buy a whole bunch of junk that i'll have to lug back to melbourne. ;p
oh and the reg i was with today was really nice. i think i grabbed him before the shift started. :| and i only realised this just before i left. :| i am so mean.

my legs are aching. and nowadays my knees ache too. from sitting and crossing my legs. :\
there was an accident between a motorbike and a car at the junction outside my house, so they closed blackburn rd between wellington and ferntree gully rd, and also normanby rd from the uni roundabout to blackburn rd. unfortunately, rusden pl/ the other side of normanby rd is the only road that isn't accessible by any other road. -.- so i circled around for quite a while before they reopened the roads again and i could get home. newspaper article here. the guy died.. which is a lot worse than not being able to go home, yes, i realise. but surely they didn't have to close all 6 lanes of both sides of the road right?
baked 2 batches of macarons tonight, mostly because the first one was a complete fail (it looked like an eggette, seriously). the second batch looked nicer in terms of outward appearance.. but the shells were really fragile and they stuck to the baking paper. :( it's a pity the first batch were made with the aged eggs. oh and i used some hazelnut meal for the second batch for the brown speckled look, but i didn't like the taste. but after sandwiching it with the nutella ganache, it was actually quite nice (extremely fragile shells aside). i think it's because the nutella was so overwhelming it drowned out the hazelnut taste. i know that doesn't make sense because nutella is also hazelnut. zzz.
person x sent me another bitchy email! i am tempted to reply. reply until she has nothing more to say. -.- but not tonight. haven't finished my m2m questionnaire yet. it's due at 5pm tomorrow.. but i want to just submit it tonight.
looks like domestic flights are on. :) i haven't packed yet! ahh. suddenly stressed. although being the aunty that i am, i've already made a list. ;p
my father doesn't want to lend me his leica. :( which was from tata, and tata actually said i should try it. :( the poor thing is sitting in a dry cabinet doing nothing.. when it could be traveling the world, taking awesome photos. sigh.

attempted to find my taylors cert today. instead, i found random things like:
- my study skills notebook from sec 4 (i am quite proud that i am following my life plan, albeit one year behind, and i changed the end goal haha)
- the cracked pepper cracker box in orange fruit netting from my 19th birthday
- and old scrapbook made by an old friend (and a song written for me ;p)
- my primary 3 sports day unglam photos of rong ;p
- a photo from camp PG in ?2001/2002
- my old health booklet (at birth i weighed 2620g, was 43cm long, had a head circumference of 38cm, and my growth as seen on the growth charts plotted was always within the normal range!)
- other bits and pieces from my life in taylors on a'beckett
but yeah, still no cert. hmmm. (continues procrastinating)
tae came over, we picked wanjie up, and went to the city for dinner with charmaine! :D walked around a bit trying to decide where to eat.. met kaiwen and mark along the way haha. eventually decided on ito. sat there and talked for a couple of hours, about jobs and our predicament. had macarons for dessert. ;p tae ate 3 haha. the ito people finally handed us to bill to chase us out.
was really good meeting everyone properly again. much much ♥ :)
so i think i should just try to fill in the m2m questionnaire anyway. i don't really get how pmcv works though. rawr. should i apply to queensland? and nz? :| i really don't want to do more applications. but then i can add john desmond to my CV hahaha. ;p
and today i answered the phone and had a conversation with someone though i didn't know who the person was. :| haha. oops.
it's so easy to be bitchy to someone who's being bitchy to you. especially when the person is being rude and curt and doesn't have any right to be bitchy (i.e. you totally owe me something and i'm not being unreasonable in my request). -.- it isn't even directly related to her. -.- so annoying.
i'd like to try making macarons again soon. :) though probably not that soon haha since i'll be away next weekend. i feel like this is going to be a short week, then when i come back from sydney i'll be hit with a million things - practical sim 2 (torture), northern interview, eastern interview. and that's really all haha. i hate all these things, they are all torturous.
think i should do it even though:
- it appears that it would require careful thought and phrasing
- it is possible and quite likely that it will end up being ignored anyway
- i'm really not sure it would achieve its intended purpose

made pink macarons today. ;p they turned out a bit too pink though.. would have preferred a lighter shade haha. and these were the only reasonable-looking ones. ;p the rest looked like tops, as yuwan says. they taste alright though. :) recipe here. :) (but i didn't use raspberries, almond extract, or unsalted butter. and i just bought almond meal.)i wonder if it's possible for someone else to bring my script to the pharmacy to get drugs for me. hmmm.

looked at old cameras on ebay and etsy. i have a serious shopping problem. but anyway, i noticed that people selling cameras on ebay put much more detailed descriptions compared to people on etsy. the etsy people just seem clueless. and i think it would really help to test the cameras out rather than writing "appears to be in working condition."
i feel like i want to bake a million things but i'm afraid nobody's going to eat them haha. because seriously i eat about 5% of what i bake. most of the time. but i just want to try egg tarts using store-bought puff pastry. should i?
anyway, second note to self: do not bake cakes using almond meal in the future.
i hope they get a new kitten. though that would make tuna really upset (the last time when we got bery(llium), he was so upset about sharing his litter box that he refused to pee, and then later exploded).

boring lectures today. except the fungi one, that was quite interesting. mushrooms that look like the normal white/brown mushrooms you buy at the supermarket.. but are actually poisonous. one that smells of phenol.. magic mushrooms that turn blue when handled. i think we might have seen one of them when we went to attempt to fish with charmaine, mavis, cheryl and nic. the red ones with white spots? like those you see in enid blyton books. ;p
then stories about the kids with meningitis who died were also interesting. as in.. with regards to who has duty of care. but seriously you'd think a mother who was a paeds nurse would know better than to treat meningitis with alternative med. :| and the GP who became depressed and killed himself after breaching confidentiality about a school bus driver with angina who refused to stop driving.
took public transport today, it was a pain. :( was so glad to get back into Skype and drive home from huntingdale rather than having to wait for 900 or 630! those days are long gone, thankfully.
so anyway because of metro (okay maybe it was just me), i was half an hour late meeting daniel. oops. dinner at giraffe cafe, then hot chocolate at max brenners. tried the dark hot chocolate this time because all the previous times i'd had milk chocolate and it had been too sweet. but dark chocolate is too bitter. don't want to go to max brenners anymore. koko black is much better!
days of waiting at mrs fields, taking the train to huntingdale to wait for the bus, peeing indiscriminately (disclaimer: this was not done by me), huddling in the colddd.
been listening to hey, soul sister on repeat because of the uke. ;p
oh yes, zara is here in melbourne! apparently there was a huge crowd and people pitched a tent there at 12mn to wait for the opening. -.- but zara is really unaffordable without a sale. and once you've shopped at zara in spain, you'll feel really sad buying anything from there that isn't like 70% off or something. ;p barcelona year end! :D:D hehe.
really hate presentations. i always feel like quitting med whenever i have to do them. and by that i mean i feel like quitting med even more than my baseline wanting to quit med. D: gah. need to be proactive tomorrow.
and after tomorrow the deakin people will be gone (their exam is on friday) so that means we will need to start answering more questions. :| they've been answering most of the questions because they've been here longer (does that help?) and they have exams (that definitely helps). but then it'll just be the three of us clueless people! haha.
will finish my film by the time i go to sydney (in 9 days) so i can ask my mother to go develop it for me. :) save money, yeay.
in other news, i think my reverse and parallel parking has improved by leaps and bounds this year! ;p all the parallel parking in dandy and maroondah, and now i reverse park at home. :) one of the last days at dandy, the two boys exclaimed that there had been a significant improvement in my parallel parking haha. because i was terrible at the beginning of the 6 weeks. ;p
can't wait for it to arrive!! :D:D 1-5 weeks haha. such a vague estimate.

just got back from dinner at chai's. :) was good meeting everyone again! expecially long lost people like charmaine and iris haha. the food was really good too! masterchef cookbook. ;p i made the salad! and people said it was quite good. ;p which i consider to be amazing, since i don't even eat salad myself. ;p haha. and people said can sell the egg tarts. ;p
iris and i wore the same top. ;p topics of conversation: job applications, how to kill yourself (for the layman), murders/ deaths in singapore. monopolised the beanbag. ended up watching some 1992 movie which was not bad haha. left halfway though.
we want to go back to daylesford for the lavender ice cream. :D according to some website, it's in season in autumn.. looks like we just missed it. :( but anyway. we might be going to cairns for our grad trip. :D yeay! although i'm really quite scared of the box jellyfish! wanjie says we need to carry vinegar haha.
still need to apply to singapore. but that isn't so pressing. the problem is finding my old certs.. :\ did i even get a cert for taylors? and if i did, where on earth would it be..? :\ rawr.
went to the chapel st antique shop (where we went to look at typewriters previously) and spent half an hour looking at old projector slides (and yes, bought quite a few of them). :| can't resist old things. must have looked at every slide twice at least haha.

there's a new b&j's store in melbourne, and the person who wrote the article wrote something about chunky monkey. ! it reminds me of the jade, rings, and running away from security guards haha. :) i'll stick to that, rather than the second jade episode.
went to the church office to collect the bulletin stuff from jas. saw a b&w cat on the way there, so i stopped to talk to it on the way back. ;p at first it ran away (maybe because i stopped the car right in front of it and my car makes a noise when i lock it).. but then it came back after a bit of coaxing. :D first time a cat has ever done that with me! haha. most of the time if they run off they never come back. but after that another car drove by and the cat ran away again haha.
baked egg tarts! the first batch was a bit over-filled so the edges are all brown because of the egg glaze. was worried about getting them out of the moulds (yes i actually went to buy the moulds in the youtube video), but i didn't have much of a problem in the end. and they do really taste quite good. :) though i prefer the flaky pastry more.

they gave me haigh's and lindt chocolate and a fossil box that can be made into a bird house! :D and other random things haha. :)
tute on arrhythmias and x-rays, with lunch in between. next monday's tute has been postponed to tuesday since monday is the queen's birthday. ;p
had a random urge to shop so i did. :| couldn't resist, sigh. bought a skirt i really like. ;p and a couple of other things. didn't even get the thing i was intending to get, sigh. :|
it's back to the UK at the end of the year! i don't really get it though. barcelona, london, holsworthy, london? something like that.

went home, then went to st kilda for dinner at Topolino's. thought the mushroom carbonara thing yuwan ordered was quite good. we were on our way back when we decided to join cheryl and nat at freddo's haha. but we got there earlier than them. tried durian, but i think i'll still stick to my two favourites next time.

got to maroondah at about 11 and stayed till 4, though we did have a very long lunch break talking with weide haha. it was super windy when we left, but apparently it was a lot worse before, with hail and all. we were oblivious to it because we were indoors.. or maybe it didn't happen in maroondah? hmm.
dinner at Topolino's was cancelled because they couldn't get back in time (they're not back yet). but i'm bringing them to mart130 tomorrow i think. hopefully the weather calms down a bit. :|

went to develop my photos this morning, but they weren't ready before i left for maroondah so i'll only pick them up tomorrow morning. :) haven't done this in such a long time.
finished my applications. gave up on bendigo though. but whatever lah. :\ i think i really need a miracle to get a job here. :|
went to maroondah for the tute at 1pm. went through a deakin module on communication - practised doing referrals using isbar. then did more slit lamp stuff. had dinner (at 5pm), then hung around and saw some patients till about 9.45pm. glued a little boy's forehead shut. ;p he has EDS! poor kid.

for some strange reason i remembered going to some factory place to pick up the dumpling things for btf last year. i keep having weird recollections like this nowadays.
sissy and i are getting sister skirts. ;p don't know if rong is getting also haha. no hugs for rong.

why do people spell delirium as delerium. not that i'm being a spelling nazi, i just think delerium looks ugly.
should sleep. long day tomorrow. :| but hopefully i'll be done with job applications by the end of it. :)
another thing that reminds me of my childhood: cutting my fingernails on sunday night. ;p either that, or cutting them in school before a rumoured attire check. ;p

i love themed parties! ;p went to buy white cloth and sewed myself an apron for my alice in wonderland costume. ;p
there are still brownies leftover. they are best eaten after being microwaved for about 20 seconds. ;p yum. didn't eat the cake but apparently it was good. :) yay. it looked ugly though haha, the icing wouldn't stop flowing down so in the end most of it was pooled around the base instead of being on the cake. -.-
played pin the tail on the donkey and pass the parcel. ;p watched masterchef and ian and shaun played chess and william tried to convince me to continue being a doctor (not that i am currently one). sang songs with the guitar, looked at people's veins, ate a lot.
have 3 applications left - austin, barwon, and m2m. austin and barwon are really annoying. ask so many questions. just have to mail the m2m one tomorrow. will go develop my film too, couldn't do it today since the shop was closed and the one at the glen was too expensive.
i can't wait for it to all be overrr. but there are still interviews, ugh.
feel like i am on holiday too. :3 don't want to go to hospitalllll. think i'll do my applications and stuff tomorrow morning, then go to hospital for the tute at 1pm.
claiming my money back from jas for photocopying the church bulletin. ;p
we are going people visiting this week! :)

stalled. :| how inconvenient.
the bendigo application is so annoying. why ask so many questions when we already have to write the cover letter? :( rawr. annoying. and the m2m one has to be mailed toooooo. zomg stress.
this morning:
- photocopied the bulletin
- decorated the cake (but the icing is forever flowing off and pooling at the base and some of the fudge has also slipped argh)
- took the train for the first time since i can't even remember when
in the city:
- met cheryl and nat (i keep thinking of nat nat when his name comes up haha)
- walked around victoria market but didn't get jam donuts :(
- walked around the state library ♥ went upstairs for the first time haha
- interesting exhibitions
- could also have met daniel since he was there
- had lunch at Mr Tulk (service was slow and the food wasn't fantastic, though the poached eggs were quite nicely done)
- met loyi! :) he has an exam today, and for that reason he gets to stay in a hotel (hello monash?)
- walked through melbourne central to show them the clock and the pointy thing
- met chun hoong haha, he walked around with us for an hour or so while waiting for his extremely late friend
- went back to haigh's where they bought a lot of chocolate stuff
- walked around coles in melbourne central (stopped by to say hi to a kitten on the way)
- walked back to kim lim and nat drove to huntingdale to pick Skype up
after that:
- they met mousey :)
- subway/ flake attack for dinner
- met zhenwei at pinewood
- baked the caramel filled brownies again, but it's a bit weird this time :\
- partially did some job application stuff
am actually quite tired. must be from all the extra exercise (walking around the city). ;p but my constant eating has paid off, i am currently 43kg. :)
met more people than usual today haha.
finally finished a roll where i am certain photos were actually taken. (sighs of relief) will hopefully send them for developing tomorrow! :D eggcite.
ivy's party is themed! i don't know if i am going. but themed parties are always fun. ;p

Goodbye Stranger (

The stranger dropped a coin and it rolled to a stop at my feet. Instinctively I bent to pick it up.. and as I straightened, our eyes met. How cliché, I thought, then didn't have any trouble ridding myself of the thought as a look of realization dawned on both our faces.
It seemed as if, in those next few seconds, our entire past was replayed in that empty space between us. It was painful, even then.
But then he turned away, abruptly, and handed the coin over to the lady at the counter.
Then he was gone. In my mind I traced the outline of his figure in the doorway, where he disappeared. Just like the last time. He never looked back.
"You two know each other?" It was my turn in the queue.
I half-smiled at her, and replied under my breath. "We used to."

and just like that you steal away the rain and just like that
had a tute on plastering and suturing today. never had a cast before today haha. it feels weird. took a couple of photos haha. dinh got us each a piece of pork to suture on. got to use glue and a stapler gun too. my sutures look neater now haha. :)
what's the first thing you think of when you see the word 'stool'? i thought of.. erm. something other than a chair stool. sigh, occupation hazard.
i am like a psych patient.
started cleaning my room. also cleaned the shower. fed my mouse. :)
i think my b&w film can't be developed by the btp guy. :\ sigh should have checked earlier.

heard this song on the radio while driving home from the hospital today. :) discovered milo powder in the ED pantry. :) didn't fall asleep during the intern/hmo teaching. :)
didn't really do much really. was just really tired from sleeping at nearly 2am last night. still am. :\ so tempted to just go in for the plastering/suturing tute tomorrow and come home after. :\ i actually prefer aged care to ED. i always don't know what to do.
went to newton circus for dinner. carrot cake, but it was so salty. :\ sent melissa home after. we were talking about the 3 streets: bettina, dennis, and morton. "fawn used to live there right?" erm, no, not really.
my new cousin is due soon. :) hope my uncle posts photos on fb haha.
why does asos perpetually have free shipping? so tempting. but i have no more money. though monash is going to give me $750 soon.
about ten more shots to go.
want to sleeeeeeeep.

hello. tired! it's been ages since i stayed up this late. :| getting oldddd.
did pretty much nothing in the morning. went to take passport photos and mail my ballarat application. hopefully i remembered to include everything this time. :3
met the prettiest cat! :) she looked so regal, the way she sat. reminded me of king (yoyo), actually. :) she was quite reluctant to be touched at first but eventually let me. and started purring. ;p love her green eyes! although hmm. i didn't actually find out whether it was a he or she haha.
haven't seen chipper and king in a long time hmm.
went to ED with liping. wasn't very exciting today.. the most exciting thing i got to see was a hyphema. hmm. left at 10+. got home, had dinner, showered, and went to surprise chyi wei. :) happy birthday! :)
and welcome to winter! :( gah. it's so cold.
why won't qantas send me my eticket! :\ please send it by tomorrow!
