breakfast today! well. this is the breakfast/ brunch we cooked for cheryl and nick this morning haha. the bread is homemade! :) and the eggs were our best attempt yet. ;p hahaha.

charmaine, mavis and their friend came to our place, then we all set off for the tarago river. the sky was grey and it was raining (and very cold), but it cleared up as we got nearer. :)

BUT THEN THERE WERE NO FISH. and so much of the river was inaccessible because it ran through private property. finally we found this little bit of river that was open and actually had fish in it (i saw four). and geese. but the fish all disappeared when we wanted to catch them. zzz. and we trespassed on private property heh.

gave up eventually after a lot of driving around and google maps-ing and u-turning. went to st kilda, wanted to try fishing again.. but decided against it when we got there. so cold!

had fish & chips at some random shop which had an offer haha. the fish wasn't bad though. except for the flake, which was terrible. had apples gelato after that. :) kinder surprise flavour! haha. i think i'd have liked it more if it was kinder bueno..

braved the cold to see the little penguins on the st kilda pier. saw so many! :) they are so cute haha. the way the bend down to look at where they want to go, then use their whole body to hop onto the next rock. ;p and they made so much noise.

came home after that. ian dropped himself off. cheryl played with my steths haha. she was so fascinated by it. ;p and the typewriter. nick fixed it! :O haha i can start asking questions again.. ;p

was asked to do face painting for the family fun day but declined. we won't be going.. i wonder what will happen on that day.. ;p

stomach hurts. :( yuwan thinks i have appendicitis. rawr. please go away!


ian got a parking ticket! $58 poorer just like that. then again he had it coming..

attempted to fish today but zzz. no fish! and the wind was crazy. we ended up in frankston and the waves were crazy too. it was all crazy. oh and i nearly fell into the creek too.

drove back with frozen toes. was dead tired from driving the whole day. am thankful that it's ian's turn tomorrow. ;p though i think we will all really freeze tomorrow. :x

baked bread using a recipe i stole from uppercase magazine yesterday. ;p again, it smells nice... but i don't know if the texture's right yet. we'll see tomorrow i guess. ian put the rest of the old bread in the mouse cage! i hope they don't get sick from that.

am tired but christina lent me House Rules! which means i will be reading for a while... ;p good thing i don't have to get up so early tomorrow haha.

was talking to x last night and appreciated his non-judgmental questions haha.

i hope we catch some fish tomorrowww.


sunday! without church feels weird...

got up early and went to pick cheryl and nicholas up from south yarra. i was so tired that when i called ian to wake him up, i was still in bed. -.-

went to camberwell market, where my toes froze, it was so cold! walked around and spotted cool things. ;p my favourite things were a pay phone, iMac G4s, and the dogs. ;p we bought the G4s, by the way. :) they aren't working.. but they look awesome and it was a good deal. ;p i know i keep buying junk! one old man asked us if we owned a museum.. cheryl said we should have said yes. ;p

met charmaine and mavis after a while. continued looking around.. it started warming up. :) then we drove to prahran and spent some time in magnation while waiting for the sisters. lunch at yellow bird. the food was not bad but the decor was quite disturbing.. i wouldn't go again.

went to the st kilda market after that.. just walked through then went to get stuff from chaddy then went home. :)

had dinner, then did random things and talked...

was a good day, though tiring. :) think i saw more dogs today than i have in the whole of this year combined. got to play with a few too. :) and a cat. :) without sneezing! haha.

am looking forward to sleeping haha. ;p


SATURDAY.

two weeks left. :( and only one week of hols, ugh. :(

got up early this morning. actually, no i didn't. it just felt early... ian came over for breakfast. my bread is the same as his.. :( so disappointing haha. i want to bake the kind of bread you find in a bakery (or maybe just a supermarket). light and fluffy. failed poached eggs too haha.

picked chris up and drove to the airport to pick kohila up. drove for 2.5 hours! amazing haha. which is why ian will do the driving tomorrow. and parking, yay.

came back and had lunch, then picked people up and went to the church office for BTF training. though we left early.

went home and charmaine and mavis picked us up and brought us to city life. it felt kind of familiar.. something like city harvest, but smaller and a bit lower tech haha. they gave us each a black and white rock.. "ashes and dust" and "for me the world was created." i'm not so sure i agree with the latter...

ian drove after that. ;p went to pump petrol, then to brandon park so they could get their fishing rod and bait. then we went back.

went to church for set up.. there was some miscommunication and i was handed the church office key. since there was no one else there we went to subway to get dinner. then i was told to bring the key to the church office so they could lock up. so we got to church late... and i was scolded. -.- was really quite upset because firstly, we had been the first people there. secondly, we met the person with the key at subway (and we left before him), so we wouldn't have been late. thirdly, we had to go and be lifesavers! and lastly, we were already there so why do you have to scold us? why not scold the people who weren't even there? HUH. >:(

yes i was quite upset. but ian will just tell me to let it go.. which i should. okay. breathe. i just really don't like people making a judgment without knowing the full story. and being maligned (like rong)! and even if you judge, you don't really have to say it to their face right. at least if you keep it to yourself you don't have to affect someone else.

(sorry just needed to vent)

i think there are exceptions to practically every rule.

anyway. went home after set up, was relieved i didn't have to carry chairs because of my lower back pain, did easy stuff instead.

came home and had dinner. then ian helped me with cleaning the kids' cage. which literally cut the time down by at least half. :) thank you! :) gave them less sawdust this time since they make their own by shredding toilet rolls. ;p haha.


proofing bread smells like yeast.. i'm not a huge fan. baking bread, on the other hand... :) smells so good. :) EXCEPT THAT I CANNOT REMOVE IT FROM THE LOAF TIN. zzz.

went to kmart to swap the fishing rod and get more stuff. and sawdust for the kids (ian calls them kids).

had dinner at the grand tofu with the lg. :) then we watched Toy Story 3 in 3D! ♥

had a slurpee. ;p then went to borrow zepeng's air mattress and zhilin's sleeping bag. :)

i've vacuumed half my floor! haha. will do the rest tomorrow...

need to make a list of eating places for vidhya. ;p

when i was a kid and i got sick (fever kind of sick), i would smell a weird smell.. can't describe it, but it was very distinct. haven't smelt it in years.. yet i am smelling it now. :\ for some reason it reminds me of the orthodontist. maybe i was sick when i went once? because i never ever went to a clinic or hospital when i was sick. it was always just rest at home and take the medicine that was already there.

anyway. i hope this doesn't mean i'm falling sick. :\ i have too many things to do! rawr.


SUPERMAN

was supposed to study this morning.....

but we ended up going to feed the birds at mt dandenong instead. :) the usual rosellas, king parrots, cockatoos (they are really scary).. and the grey and pink ones. i still don't know what they are. good thing the mice eat bird food so we didn't have to get some specially for today.

had lunch at the soda tree cafe after that. :) recommended by wanjie and leandra! :) it's really quite cool. though i don't like the font they use haha. and i really wish they'd kept the stories in the books they used for their menus. would have loved to read them. ;p

and i bought a vintage suitcase! for $45 heh. it's quite rusty though. i hope it holds. and there's still camberwell market this sunday. ;p

went to kmart to buy a fishing rod hahaha. then to the glen to buy a multi-tool thing. then home to try and figure out where to fish. so onz, ian says. i think we still haven't decided. -.- dinner, which was leftover roast pork and veg. and The Lonely Bones, which was really creepy.

started cleaning my room. -.- will hopefully vacuum it tomorrow. and do more laundry. zzz.

went to adaleigh court to surprise megan! ;p

i miss my black hair. though i like how i can wear it either wavy or curly now. ;p

no naps today, plus i got up at like 7am. so tireddd.


today was slack day. woke up late(ish), showered, did a tonne of laundry, went to clayton, ian cooked fish for lunch, napped, did more laundry, roasted pork for dinner, did the book #3.

things in my bed were biting me! :| so i changed my sheets. hopefully it goes away. i have 6 bites now. :\

hong kong didn't have my lemon puff biscuits! :( they didn't have the cocoa puff biscuits either. :(

cheryl and nicholas are coming on sunday. hmmm incentive to clean my room? haha. zzz lazy. though i finally got rid of most of the clothes on my chair haha. by dumping them in the laundry basket. ;p i need a much bigger wardrobe.

suddenly overwhelmed with everything that needs to happen before the end of the holidays (which is very soon). well. not everything needs to happen, but.. heh.

but it's not all bad. i'm glad i got to spend a lot of time with ian the last two months. :) and i'm glad we got to go to gold coast. :) and that we got to go on a road trip and hang out with my first and second year lunch people (also the same people i'm very glad to have gone through GP with). :) and that i will get to see cheryl soon. :) and also that i have time to sleep more and read books. :)

i love seeing people i know from home in countries other than singapore. :) it's a different feeling.

am quite annoyed with the insect bites on my hands. :< i don't even know what they are, really. but they get very itchy. ugh. and yes, they have a punctum.

anyway, that aside, good day. :)

was woken up early by ian, who woke up at 5+ for no apparent reason. picked wanjie and leandra up and went to MAЯT130 for brunch with charmaine. :)

food was alright, not really fantastic but not bad either. talked from 10.15 till 1.30 haha. ;p we parked at a 1p lot and forgot to move the car till 3 hours later! but didn't get fined, thankfully. :)

talked about our future houses, and how we have already planned some of it, like the kitchen sink and worktops, pretty crockery, toilet bowls. ;p

walked around a bit after everyone else left. played with two golden retrievers. :) they looked exactly alike except that one was golden and one was white. and the white one was more attention-seeking haha. ;p

went to bunnings after that to get my supposedly red spray paint and gloves..

delivered food that yuwan cooked for the lg people. blackburn, bettina, irwin, evelyn, panorama, browns, white, patrick, koonawara, matheson library, southeast flats, halls. whew. it took about an hour haha.

shopped online again. -.- wish person x would hurry up and reply me!

yesterday we had lunch at the samson hill estate winery. :) it was quite nice.. well. the risotto was too garlicky. but ian said the kangaroo was good. and the wine.. i don't like wine. ;p

hmm haven't done that in quite a while, it seems.. and it seems quite a bit more enjoyable than it used to be? is that sentence structure even right?

i wonder how i am ever going to function in hospital when school reopens. :| i sleep before 12 and get up at like 8+! zzz such a pig.

oh and ian put the new iphone OS 4 on my phone. it's not that great haha. a step up, maybe.

people are coming back to visit. :) also cheryl and nicholas (i haven't actually met him) are already here i think! oh my. maybe we should bring them up the mountain...

my head feels woozy 24/7. :( sleeping doesn't seem to help, i'm still so tired when i get up. the best i can do is distract myself with something else.. it doesn't feel so bad then.

but ian is doing stuff for me so i don't have to. :) like drive, and cook. recently i've taken to singing in the car (i think i'm going a bit mad) so he's had to endure that too haha.

the day is approaching! it's a weird feeling because it's happy and sad at the same time. crunch time.

am thankful to have gotten to spend half a semester with these people in GP land. :)

now just to think of what to say...

got up on time this morning, showered, went to atlantic st for the BTF craft prep. spent the morning tracing and cutting, and the afternoon sewing. housewife training!

sent chyi wei home then went to pick the keyboard up from westall. it's huge! but it could still fit in my car. Skype is pretty amazing.

went to clayton to get food, met jason and asked him if the salad was coming to church tomorrow. i think i am too tired so i'm a bit weirder than usual...

came home and ian cooked some jap soup thing with tofu, onions and prawns. and organic somen. i don't even know what somen is. but it was quite nice. :) then he went to bring chris and the keyboard to church while we cooked church lunch. and then he came back and cooked his own church lunch so yay we don't have anymore pasta sitting around.

finished the cream of mushroom soup. :) oh and cheezels. and lemonade. and banana chips. i have been eating so much junk recently. :| die.

we were supposed to have lunch at yarra glen today but ended up sewing instead. so we'll go on tuesday.. maybe. ;p google maps says it's more than an hour awayyy. :\ so far. but then now i am inclined to agree to everything he wants because he's going away soon. :( actually no, i still like to argue with him haha.

watched Glee. :)

i am bruised everywhere. not even kidding. and i have slow-healing wounds. ha, or maybe i'm just too impatient and my body can't keep up. or maybe i am stressed and my immunity is low.\

i know i am really tired when my head feels woozy. well i did sleep at 4.30am and only had about 1.5 hours of deep sleep according to sleep cycle, compared to my usual > 3 hours. sigh. napped in the afternoon but it didn't help at all.

anyway, we got our film developed! it costs a bomb to use film. :| but i am happy with my photos. :) except that they're a bit dark haha. i love my supersampler. :) am very glad i finally got it after 2 years of wanting to get it haha. ;p

cooked the first dish out of the new cookbook. :) it was nice straight out of the pan though i modified it so much it looked nothing like the picture in the book haha.

don't eat fresh hazelnuts, it's like eating a twig.

i am really not looking forward to ian going back in about 3 weeks. :(


OWIGHT.

back from the gold coast! :) which was warm and mostly sunny. it's freezing in melbourne. :( anyway. it was a nice holiday. :) now i have to come back to reality.. which means studying. gah.

so basically,

1. public transport costs a lot but southport isn't too out of the way
2. movie world is not bad (we didn't go to the other worlds)
3. we got a lift from strangers in a rickety old van that took more than 10 tries to start
4. whale watching is amazing (i want to be a whale)
5. dolphins like to show off (i wouldn't mind being a dolphin either)
6. visited a beautiful deserted beach
7. made friends with another melbourne couple by giving them a whale watching voucher
8. traveled around the gold coast on a scooter (waving to nearly every other scooter/ bike we saw and breathing in car exhaust most of the time. oh, and freezing our faces off)
9. picnicked on mt tamborine
10. went into an artificial glow worm cave (they really do look like stars, but greener)
11. had double choc fudge while strolling down gallery walk on mt tamborine
12. just managed to catch the surfers paradise night market before it closed
13. walked along the beach at night (there is nothing else to do except a pub crawl)
14. saw mice living in the roots of a ?mangrove tree (which was not in a mangrove)
15. talked to robots (which can communicate with each other)
16. visited the david fleay wildlife park (didn't see wombats :<)
17. love the tawny frogmouth and spinifex hopping mice (they remind me of coffee and kitkat)
18. the fat wallabies remind me of bubbles (i miss bubbles)
19. the pacific fair shopping centre carpark entrance reminds me of 1-utama
20. i exceeded my budget because i bought a dress
21. went to the beach to emo because ian's going back to singapore (and he's going into NS)
22. returned the scooter and played pacman while waiting for mitch to give us a lift back to the hostel
23. didn't get to go to the rspca
24. went for a walk while waiting for ray and vicky (who gave us a lift to the airport)
25. we bought 2 copies of a cookbook
    
26. felt utterly exhausted at the airport
27. didn't go to the jetstar lounge because it was lousy
28. finally flew, slept the whole way and still felt dead tired when we landed
29. though the cold melbourne air woke me up the second i stepped out of the plane
30. (i can hear the mice running in their wheel outside. i hope ian isn't freezing)
31. gave ray and vicky a lift to prahran, then came home
32. yes, ian is staying here tonight because it's too late

we went whale watching today. :) it was amazing. :)

we also saw mice who live in mangrove roots! and an amazing deserted beach. and got a little bit sunburnt.

pray we keep safe on the scooter tomorrow!


hello from gold coast. :)

it's still cold, but not as bad as melb. notting hill's high is gold coast's low. the wind is still quite cold though.

slept for most of the two-hour flight, caught a bus to near the backpackers hostel, checked in. southport is very dead at night. managed to find a jap place to eat at but the food wasnt great. at least there's plenty of hot water at the hostel haha.

no time difference.. but we're very tired, so goodnight. ;p hope it doesn't rain too much tomorrow!


finally finished packing. :| tired!

dragged myself out of bed this morning to make stew and pick the boyfriend up. went to clayton to buy food. came home and ate and marinated food etc. collapsed for a while..

really have to start studying once i'm done running around. :|

he wanted to go to st kilda for coffee but i was lazy. so we ended up just cooking instead. and baking. and looking for more things to do in gc if we can't snorkel. :(

went for set up. i have lower back pain. :( despite knowing the right way to lift heavy objects, i can't seem to do it haha. zzz i don't want to have chronic back pain!

came home and packed a bit. then went back to fetch ian and played tap tap revenge on william's ipad haha. it's huge. easier to play on my phone. ;p

and i need to sleep now because i have to get up early again tomorrow!

back from grampians! completely exhausted. >.<

we didn't get to see much though. :( oh well. drove a lot. like really a lot. and we got up at 5am this morning too. and 4+ the morning before.. i need to sleep this debt off tonight.

and then tomorrow there's the thing that isn't happening, the smsv talk thing, and set up. and have to pack for gc! rawr. so lazy to pack. and i think i might end up not going for the smsv thing either. depending on how exhausted i am tomorrow. :|

the caravan we stayed in was pretty much like those cabin things we stay in during our rural placements, except in an actual caravan. quite cute, but run down heh.

and we saw kangaroos and bunny rabbits (why are they called bunny rabbits?) and emus haha. but the boroka lookout was a disappointing blanket of fog. :(

anddd i was pleasantly surprised yesterday morning. :) yay! :)

and... yeah going to sleep now goodnight.


hehe grampians tomorrow! oh no i haven't told my parents! gah.

anyway. i hope it isn't too cold. and that it won't rain. :| though the forecast is for light showers. eek. also i hope i don't get lost driving. :| and that i won't fall asleep driving! heh. and that we will all be safe.

okay hmm. went to pancake parlour for our cheapskate 1 for 1 short stacks again. ;p met allan and daniel there heh. allan and his boomz leopard preens scarf. wanted to buy board games but ian wouldn't let me haha.

oh and we had bak kut teh for lunch. :D and something like that for dinner. need to remember to freeze the chicken.

have to get up so early tomorrow morning! we are armed with V and red bull haha.

CREDIT CARD BILL. i must not misplace it this time. :3 and my ring sizer came in the mail too haha. my finger seems to always be shrinking. :\

monday.. i don't know what to say whenever people ask about how my holiday's going.

got out of bed, picked ian up, dropped my cover sheet off at notting hill, picked up my underwater camera case from the post office, got groceries from pine wood. came home and made pretzels!


loved working with the dough. ;p though my history with clay coiling doesn't seem to help, there were still all those ugly lines. and i don't really like the baking soda part.. and i think i put too much salt haha. but i have "gotten rid" of all of them.. ;p

went to uni in the afternoon to sort of help sharon and graham with their osce prep with christina. formative osce tomorrow!

ian picked me up and we were supposed to go to fed square to listen to some (boring) lectures on climate change. i'm not a huge fan because i doubt much is actually going to happen. anyway, he thought we'd better check if we had to register, and it turned out that it was sold out.

so we decided to watch a movie instead. lunar drive in!


which was a cool experience. basically you drive your car in and watch the movie on a huge screen. and listen to it on a radio station. ;p the good thing about that is that you can eat and drink whatever you want, and lie down etc. though it's freezing. the best thing is that we used the entertainment book voucher so it only cost us $6 each for 2 movies. ;p

watched I Love You Too, an aussie film, which was interesting because everything in it is very aussie haha. i think the girl is very pretty. ;p

also i got an autographed windows xp cd from ian haha.

AND we got the next episode of Glee. :D yay!

i feel like sleeping. but i also feel like eating. :| we had dinner at like 4+ heh. hungrryyyy.

no great revelation, but when you're waiting for something, every minute feels like eternity. not that i could know what eternity feels like.

hurtful words don't seem to be erasable. i don't think about it all the time but when i do, it just comes back, pretty much word for word. you could break someone down with words alone.

i wish it was warmer out. i wish my legs didn't ache for no apparent reason (i think it's because of the cold).

i wish people noticed.

i don't really want to have to plan a second holiday. or trip. or anything like that. i don't really want to have to do everything by the conditions laid down by other people. what people think about what you do is meant to be about them? i know i don't make sense, it's okay.

so the house-boyfriend moved out. :(

went to see an auction on clarke st this morning. quite a nice house, except that it only had one bathroom.

after that we went to smith st again, icebreaker. then we were going to go back but ended up having lunch at catchpenny on greville st.

dropped by chaddy to buy bird food (for the mousies), preshafruit apple & passionfruit juice, and some other stuff. and then to clayton to get food, sigh. it was pouring. and we were drenched. :( so much for having a car.

porridge for dinner since yuwan is sick. it was a success compared to ian's. ;p

decided to wash my country road bag after its many travels. i hope it doesnt shrink in the dryer.

and i only realised it was winter when a patient was doing her mmse. :| sigh, winter.

so difficult to plan the grampians trip. :| would be much easier if we all met to discuss it rawr.

i still feel vitally exhausted.

dragged myself out of bed this morning thinking that 8am felt much more like 6am. it was so foggy too. ian sent me to chaddy. last morning with my GP! he says i will make a good doctor hahaha we had a really awkward conversation about the pill and pap smears. and he went "i'm sure one day you'll find someone who'll sweep you off your feet." and i told him i had a bf and he went "oh you should, you're cute." hahaha. ;p

ian picked me up and i had lunch on the way to the alfred. :) followed ivie and christina when we saw them haha. derm clinic wasn't too bad. though i was mostly trying to not be the last person to get into the room heh.

went to walk around a bit around chapel/ greville st, but didn't get anything. oh, except a slice of secret recipe's chocolate banana cake! :D:D i am so happy they opened a shop here. haven't tried the cake yet but i hope it's as good as the ones back home!

curry chicken for dinner at home. :) I DON'T HAVE TO DO WORK TONIGHT. except count how many of each case i've seen heh.

and we only have one more thing to sort out and we can relax. :) oh and there's also the grampians thing... i don't know. i'm tired just thinking about the driving heh. :|

went to fitzroy for lunch today. joe's garage. huge portions and not that nice.. but it was one for one because of the entertainment book, so... the banana smoothie was nice though. :)

got microfibre towels haha. random, i know.

went to the clinic and met M, the nurse. home health assessment, was glad it didn't take very long. got the investigations printed off, yeay.

ian came to pick me up, went to clayton to collect the cake, then picked joce up and went home. collected yuwan and the turkey leg, then went to pick sharon up. then to mulgrave! to celebrate ivy's 21st. ;p

went to the cambro house after dropping joce off because yuwan had to get the alpha dvd from zepeng. so we toured the house haha. it's quite a weird house actually. my room is such a mess compared to everyone else's, i know. zzz.

came home and finished the assignment and submitted it electronically! :D so all i have left is a few log book things. will go to uni to submit them on friday. :)

yay. time to sleep now. zzz goodnight. :)

short day today haha. i did go to the clinic but was sent home sick at 10.45. managed to get home in 10 minutes! amazing.

ian cooked porridge, as he usually does when i am "sick," but with a lot of things i didn't like haha. still sweet though. ;p

after lunch (and a few power naps) and a whole lot of gc phone calls, i decided i was well enough to go out. went to moorabbin dfo since we can't go on thursday anymore. because i told my GP i'd make up for today on thursday morning before the derm clinic. he signed my log book anyway. "sent home sick."

barramundi for dinner. :) went to the glen to surprise chyi wei with a cake haha quite funny because we were standing outside petaling street. ;p she divided the tiny slice of cake into eight even tinier pieces. met shaun, bryan and wai keung as we were walking back to the car. came back and had dinner.

anyway my GP said i should go on the pill haha. the way he said it actually made it sound really good. not that i need to be using any contraception now haha. ookay.

will hopefully finish my investigations tonight. for the referral letter. then attempt to do the directed activity again. might not go to school tomorrow though... depending on how i feel when i get up. :| will probably hand in everything on friday morning anyway, before yum cha! :)

oh and the hk person sent the camera thing by express post this morning haha without charging extra, so nice of him/her! :) i hope it arrives in time though.

i have a back ache. :(

going to grampians with charmaine and her friend! :D yeay fun. though the drive is crazy. :| and i want new shoes haha.

my GP lent me this book (hamilton bailey's physical signs in clinical surgery) for the week. it was published in 1967. and it's full of ridiculous pictures of conditions so far down the track you wonder why people would even wait that long to see a doctor. -.- i only flipped through so all i can say if he asks me what i thought of it is that it has a lot of "interesting" photos. i hope i don't embarrass myself again tomorrow. :| last day already!

oh and the studying in malaysia thing actually sounds not bad. free accomodation + the monash abroad grant + $1.40 direct bus rides home on the weekends. ;p i think it's the weekends at home that appeal to me the most haha. that, and the swimming pool. ;p i just don't want to have to fly here and there throughout the year, so expensive heh.
