day off! but still tiring. -.-

went to uni to post stuff and get my new student id, and ian did his police check. had periperi for lunch! :D and met people.

then we rushed to clayton to get shoe glue, chopsticks, and bananas. such urgent items.

went to my patient's house. the house was very nice! haha. there doesn't seem to be anything to write about for the assignment. :(

decided to go to chaddy since it was nearby. looked at bags/ clutches, leggings/ tights, and scarves. and pretty kitchen things, sigh.

came home and cooked dinner. had dinner. showered.

time to type up the interview and finish the pall care directed activity, which is due tomorrow. and there's also hsm.

there's a refillable vesicle on my finger. :( every time i burst it it just refills.

he is a show-off.


just in case

my baby brother is now heavier than i am. that makes me the lightest person in my family, eldest child no less.

there are so many things to do, i think i'm going about it all in a very haphazard way. i've done a bit of everything but not really completed anything. too many readings for the ebcp assignment (i haven't done any the entire semester).

ian made bak kut teh from scratch, but it turned out very bitter because of too much star anise. :( i don't like bitter food. and now he's worried that it might be japanese star anise instead of chinese star anise, and that we're all going to be poisoned with its GABA receptor antagonist effect.

he bought frankie for me. :) and kinder bueno. even though i made him wait for 2+ hours for nothing.

and today he fetched zepeng back from waverley exhaust and visited during the lunch break. :)

i'm starting to think that a 10-5 day is better than a 9-4 day.

today i thought about the sec 2 sports day 4x100m race. weird how these random things pop up in my head.


TIRED. :(

injected someone for the first time in my life today. it might have been a bit unethical. heh. nevermind.

the GP was very scary and asked me a lot of questions i couldn't answer because i couldn't remember the simplest things. except that slapface is caused by a parvovirus. he gave me a lot of homework.

i was allocated a patient for my chronic disability long case, going to meet him on thursday. home visit! so scary haha.

i like the idea of pomegranate vanilla iced tea.

it was freezing today. and i pangsehed ian for lunch. :( sorry!

am thankful that school starts at 10 tomorrow (even though it ends at 5).

my toenail decided to partially come off. i don't know if it's onychomycosis? backwards onycholysis. i don't know what it is. am just going to wait for it to grow out and then clip the rest of it off. good thing it can't be seen when i wear the peeptoe heels i'm going to wear for the wedding haha.

invited my sister to come over haha. escape from A's, it's too hard.

ian baked bread, which smells like yeast and tastes a bit funny.. haha. he's cooking olive rice and chicken for dinner. :)

slightly worried about tomorrow's GP thing because the other GP has been telling me scary stories about that GP. haha. oh well, i'll see what happens. have to find a patient for the chronic illness/ disability long case too. and fill in the opthal clinic form before handing the logbook in on weds.

haven't had much appetite recently. :\ and so i've lost more weight hmm. why can't i maintain a weight of more than 42?


i think it's only now that ian's been driving me around that i realised that i do kind of like driving.. ;p so this afternoon and night i drove haha. ;p

my lack of lipbalm the last couple of weeks has killed my lips. :( i hate it when that happens.

hello. i am tired. as usual.

really scary family meeting seminar in the morning. then we had really boring lectures that went overtime. lunch. then consulting skills tutes and a multicultural model tute.

rained like mad.

came home and cooked. and chopped up bananas and froze them. then went for lg. graham's birthday!

came home again blended the bananas into icecream! :D hopefully. we'll see tomorrow.

ian was nice. he cleaned the house. :) and went out to buy a blender haha. :)

and it's quite scary when simple things like names of CCBs slip my mind. such a nightmare when GPs ask me and i just can't remember.

like how today i nearly couldn't remember my eftpos pin number. maybe related to my dream last night where i was telling ian to withdraw money for me but i couldn't remember the pin.

anyway, it's nice having him around again. :)

so, i don't really know what's happening. this doesn't normally happen. i hope it goes away. go away! :(

and my academic transcript arrived today! crumpled. :( and without my taylors results! which are the best results in my entire life, sigh. they're on the unofficial record, too. :\ oh well. at least it says i'm on a scholarship haha.

it would be cool if my elective/ holiday rotation was first and i got to see sus there. :) although i still think i'd prefer it to be the last. i bet it'll end up being somewhere in between.

sam came over with javin and titus to collect his beanbag (without the beans) and bongo stand. as predicted, the beanbag emptying was a disastrous mess, but mostly cleared in the end. beanbags are messy things. titus said pinky feels like a lizard. -.- and javin said charcoal looks like the mouse in his house. they (okay, titus) wrote on the wall! it's been such a long time since someone wrote on the wall.

corinna asked me on saturday if i was excited. :D i'm excited! haha.


i don't want to go to school tomorrow. :( i want to hide in bed with a hot water bottle that stays warm forever. and sleep forever. :(


thunderstorm! there are flashes of lightning every few seconds. i'm not even exaggerating. the whole sky lights up. i love thunderstorms. :) so i'm sitting in the dark watching the sky haha.

today i got my fluvax because my GP decided that it would be bad if i got the flu from someone in the clinic haha. so before i left he gave me the vaccine and my arm is aching now.

the morning GP made me listen to every patient's heart and check all their blood pressures. he also weighed every single patient. at the beginning of the session he told me that all the GPs do the same thing, but they all have different ways of doing it.

pain must be pretty bad to wake you up in the middle of the night. so much for non-pharm heh.

i don't want to study.

just did a ppt. so i can put it out of my mind now yay. at the GP's tomorrow. i hope it's interesting.

lectures today. 6 hours of lectures on pain and pall care. painful. :| plus a monotonous lecturer and a lousy mic. and SG cells, which none of us had ever heard of before. maybe we're lousy.

my plan for non-pharmacological management is holding out so far. yay. 7 hours and counting.

Skype has no petrol, i wonder if i will make it to chaddy tomorrow hmm.

it's b&j's free cone day in sydney tomorrow! too bad there's no b&j's outlet here. :( not as if i'd have any time to visit one anyway though.

feel like just hiding under the blanket and sleeping but i should be doing work ugh.

it's evening and i have yet to start cleaning my room today. :( because this morning i suddenly realised that i hadn't done my paces task. so after church, cleaning the church office (we gave up on the graffiti), sending people back, and returning x to kmart, i sat down to do my paces. and sent it in before 6, ha.

i keep losing track when i do ohp because i don't usually read the lyrics so sometimes i forget to switch slides.

i am lazy to cook. ian please come soon. :)

am also eagerly anticipating the arrival of my supersampler! haha.

had dinner. washed up without gloves because they were wet from pre-dinner washing up. :( my fingers are dyinggg.

okay i need to finish cleaning my room before it becomes too late to use the vacuum cleaner.

am tired from cleaning my room. but it's 3/4 done. i'll do the rest tomorrow.

my shoulders are aching. it'll be good to do work at my table again instead of killing my back on the bed.

went to jells park for chiann's hens party this morning. :) the things they make the bride-to-be do are always so embarrassing. but the questions are always interesting haha.

oh, and the weather was so nice today. :) sunny and just the right temperature! kind of makes up for the crazy cold we've been having the past week. though it seems it'll be the same this week..

i miss my pre-irritant contact dermatitis fingers and pre-eczema legs. :\ i would rather have asthma than eczema. only because my asthma was mild i guess.

talked to c today, she empathized.

bryan was so nice to do reception for me last week. :) even though he kept saying he felt embarrassed haha.

dropped Skype off at mangyik's and walked back. :) it really does feel like such a long time since i've gone for a walk at night. it felt so nice. :) though my legs aren't used to it anymore, with all the driving and non-walking this year.

i just saw our psych intern on fb? haha.

tired. and unprepared for another week of school. yes i know it's only saturday ugh. (and it isn't even 10 yet zzz)

finished Shutter Island (have i mentioned that?). pretty much the same story but with more detail. there was something about the ending though.. okay no spoilers in case christina reads this haha.

talked to the frog! :D for the first time in a long time haha. he's been mia. and he wants to backpack all over everywhere. but he says he'll plan our dec holiday. :)

i think i have a lot of random things i'm supposed to read/ get done/ be aware of this rotation/ this time of the year but i'm still clueless about them. ebcp assignment? chronic disability long case? attendance sheets? palliative care directed activity? other directed activities? hsm and ebcp? i don't know.

gary's flying back to malaysia tonight, the first part of the year has really flown by. i did actually picture gary (the snail) once, after the first few times i met him haha. ;p

i need to spend my free time over the weekend cleaning my room, seriously. there isn't much time left. i wonder how i even manage to let it get into such a mess. such an insidious thing. tomorrow afternoon and sunday after cleaning the church office i guess. i need more closet space.

$50k grant for medical students studying overseas? is monash even good enough for that haha.

too many things to think about so i can't really be bothered thinking much about that i think. too drained. no more energy to go around in circles.


hello tired.

walked a lot today. my legs are aching. my shoes didn't help either. :( but it's okay. tomorrow i can wear havis to school.

went to footscray this morning for opthal clinic. was quite an interesting experience, there was this very nice doctor who kept coming to find us to show us things. :) and before today i had never heard of a pterygium. and i think slit lamps are cooler than opthalmoscopes. also easier to use! heh. and the iris is cool. ;p and of course we had the jam doughnuts for breakfast.

after that i went to develop my photos, then went to dfo south wharf! only bought two things, but am happy enough haha. was so tired after that. :x went back to collect my photos, then dropped by laguna and woolworths to get food. am upset that laguna now sells mogumogu at $1.39. :< but i got the wang wang milk drink. ;p which tastes basically like diluted condensed milk haha yum. ;p

came back (how torturous to walk back from the bus loop while carrying groceries) and had dinner. i really don't like taking public transport grr.

now i feel like just reading my Shutter Island and not doing ebcp/ any other work for that matter. sigh. so enticing.

6 days hehe. ;p he asked me to stop counting then he started counting down himself haha. 6 days is soon.

okay i'm going to read a couple of chapters then do work. :3


halfway through Shutter Island. bits of the movie replay in my head as i read, especially because parts of the book were adapted really well, i think.

yeah so i'm going to have to do ebcp tomorrow (hopefully i'll be able to put the book down). but i'll probably be spending the afternoon in the city anyway. :3 will get my film developed and shop while it's being done. ;p if it isn't raining i guess.

used ian's glue gun to glue the soles of my shoes back because the superglue didn't seem to be superglueish at all. glue guns are useful.

paces tute with twix, starburst, and pods! :) then we had a derm lecture which had a million slides but ended a bit early.

lunch + $10 for completely the psych survey! yeay. now i can go eat periperi. when i ever get the chance to get food from uni again. maybe when ian is here. :)

derm tutes on describing skin lesions, and using a woods light and dermoscope. is that what it's called? don't know. anyway we finished at 3.15! yay.

and all we have tomorrow is opthal clinic, though that is in footscray. we're going to eat jam donuts after. i feel like going shopping. :| south wharf dfo hmmm. ;p since we're taking public transport and using a daily metcard anyway. ;p

my Shutter Island arrived today! :) which means i'm going to be reading that instead of doing ebcp tonight haha. but i can do ebcp tomorrow..

and i decided to get the supersampler. :3 that brings the total number of cameras to eight (six of them toy cameras). but the supersampler is exciting. maybe i can develop my 35mm (grampians) film tomorrow hmm. just wish the weather would lighten up a bit.

back from grampians. :) had a good time. :)

set off at about 7am yesterday morning, drove forever (about 4 hours), stopping for breakfast at macs halfway because zhenwei was too hungry haha. slept a bit in the car but not as much as i'd hoped.. learnt of the guys' love for taylor swift haha! arrived at halls gap and dumped our barbeque food in the fridge at the hostel.

had lunch at halls gap, then hiked to mackenzie falls. so pretty. :) then we went to the boroka lookout, from there you can see forever. and then we went to the venus baths, which was kind of disappointing. not what we expected, and the water was all brown and frothy! eww. we did walk in it a bit though. and we climbed up the side of the mountain haha. wanjie found a crevice to lie in and all the people who climbed higher than us just sat there throwing things at us. -.- zhixuan's sister was so concerned, she kept shouting at him to not do anything stupid. ;p

then iris twisted her ankle. :\ so the guys took turns to piggyback her back to the car. went back to the hostel, had our barbeque (with really good food) and showered. then we gathered in front of a real fire and played cranium and pictionary, where everyone was screaming that they'd guessed it first haha, it was really quite hilarious. guys won in the end. ;p

the toilets at the yha hostel are really nice anyway. just saying. ;p the whole hostel is quite nice actually. haha.

breakfast in the morning. iris decided that her foot was okay to hike, so we went up to the pinnacle. through the grand canyon, good hike. :) and the place is so beautiful. :) and everyone took brilliant photos! i only used my pseudo-vivitar haha. a few more shots and i'll send the film for developing. :)

it was so cold today though! :| freezing. so we kept finding rocks to hide behind whenever we stopped to wait for the rest. we finally got back to the cars at 2+ i think. went to ararat for lunch, most places were closed because it's sunday, so we had lunch at macs haha.

slept a lot of the way back. it's so nice to be able to just sleep while someone else drives, especially when it's such a long ride. the guys did take turns though. and there was a rainbow. :)

had dinner with joon loong, esther, and zhen wei at wah kee. zepeng called to tell me that my car had died at brandon park.. and i didn't know what to do. after a while he called joon loong (the car GP) who didn't know what was wrong, so he referred him to zhen wei (the car consultant), who figured it out. though it took a while to work. but Skype is fine now. :) yay. thank you zepeng for saving it! :)

finally finished my paces task and put it in the google doc. google docs is such a useful thing seriously. it saves all the compiling. though i guess i'd still format it before i print. though as i remember my printer doesn't work anymore. :| ian's printer i mean.

and mangyik brought my car back. :) thought i might need it since it's so cold, i don't want to walk! :\


how crazy is this?

walked to uni (notting hill campus) in the morning, there were still visitor lots in the carpark! two quizzes by jmurtagh, i didn't know anything and i was so stressed because he thought that singaporeans knew everything. -.-

paces tute, i think it's essentially the same as pbl lor. we only have 3 though. health assessment lecture, lunch (fruit - people think i'm trying to disappear), "motivational" talk. -.- ok. then my mother called.

last lecture on domestic violence (which went on forever. and had comic strips that were depressing). went to clayton with wanjie to buy supplies for tomorrow. today, really.

came home and cooked for lg, showered, picked people up and went for lg at ivy's house. alpha 2, learnt interesting new things today. :) for which i am thankful. thank You. :)

sent people home, went to withdraw money in case, brought Skype to mangyik's place and she sent yuwan and i back. please keep Skype safe! and you all too of course. ;p feels like forever since i last sat in Skype's passenger seat haha. i felt like a driving instructor. ;p

started packing, then talked to ian for 2.5 hours on skype. :O it was good though. :)

am very tired and didn't want to go for the road trip anymore. :( but then i decided i should still go. heh. so i resumed packing (at 2.30am, mind you). done packing now, taking a break. still have to do my paces task. then i'll decide what to do after that. maybe nap? :\ although i don't want to wake up with a hangover. should probably take a shower too..

i will be the most inappropriately dressed and most unprepared person in the group. :| and also the most tired maybe. haha. but i'll sleep in the car.. good excuse to avoid certain *ahem* things.

last day of easter break. :( i'm thankful for the extra day off though. :)

went to watch The Blind Side after lunch at nando's. :) good movie. :) and i thought it was quite funny how most of us ended up buying books at A&G. :p

and i got some exercise walking to and from the bus loop today. it brought back memories. that is all.

yuwan is back so the house is less quiet. ;p

pinky has a weird growth on her face. :( and she's growing short black fur so she looks ugly now. oh well i guess it'll help to keep her warm when it gets colder.

planning to go buy buttons at some point...

eek i just remembered that i have work to do by tonight so. bye. :)


so i was supposed to meet loyi for dinner. but we were too bored by lunchtime so we decided to meet earlier. was so traumatized trying to get to his place. and he kept complaining that i drive dangerously. :|

went to port melbourne to have fish & chips and take photos with his new dslr. had to move the car after 2 hours, but we had a hard time trying to find it. and then after that i parked slanted at the wrong angle but didn't care since lots weren't drawn up. and then while on the pier i realised that i didn't have my phone with me and walked back to check if it was in the car. a lot of walking today.. legs are tired. lousy, i know.

so many starfish and jellyfish there. and dogs. :) more photos, waited for the sunset, then went back to the city for dinner at mekong, which was disappointing. :( and he made me use the citylink so i took the M1 home. so sleepy driving home alone at night.

should totally get my macbook pro so it won't take forever to transfer photos from my camera to picky. anyway, it feels good to be able to take photos again. :) am very thankful for my battery charger. and for my mother who sent the battery charger over haha. ;p

it's so weird to see my brother and lois' brother talking on fb. for some reason.

so lazy to do anything i just want to sleeeep but it's only 9+. -.- another outing tomorrow and then the holiday is over. :(

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Meet the Robinsons. liked the second but not the first.. and Alice in Wonderland 3D with wanjie and melvin! the 3D glasses kept slipping off so i had to hold them up the entire time. thought the show wasn't bad though. thought it was hilarious that the red queen called alice "um." ;p

have to get used to the daylight savings thing. came out of the bathroom at 6+ and it was already dark. :( anyway. we're two hours ahead now. sometimes that extra hour seems like a lot, other times it hardly seems to make a difference..

deviled eggs again. added asparagus this time. :) and i decided to use the slow cooker to cook tomorrow's lunch haha. because i'm lazy.

chai picked wanjie and i up to go to the easter shimmer at armaan's. he forgot stuff, went back to get it, and still forgot something haha. there was a lot of food. :3 a lot of rock band too haha. and 70 easter eggs (i only found 3). talked to lynn about postgrad meddies and their awesomeness. among other things. and armaan's sister has a zhao cai gnome haha!

okay my room is a huge mess i need to sort it out. and i need to do laundry. and my phone battery is dying. annoying.

yay! just bought Shutter Island. :) the book, i mean. online, though.. that means it'll be a while before i get it. everything's taken forever to arrive recently. :( still haven't gotten my letter, can you believe it! :( and with all the easter holidays the next time anything will arrive is tuesday.. :<

anyway. the GP lady called me at 10+ so i finally got out of bed then haha. did random things and went to the hospital to hand in my time sheet, and then to pump petrol. yay.

thought of baking ricecooker bread but it turns out my rice cooker is too low-tech. :( oh well. and i want to try decorating muffins to but i can't bring myself to eat that much cream/ sugar. ugh.

lunch and then yuwan left for gold coast. haha okay she left for the bus loop. or something like that.

going to:
- throw the trash
- wash the toilet
- shower
- make deviled eggs

yay. ian's at the sungei road thieves' market today. i hope he took photos. i took photos of pink and char today! but they're a bit blurry. :| okay time to be productive.

was at ccmhs this morning with chai. i got to see 2 patients while he sat around learning about the clozapine management scheme or something like that haha. i didn't realise he hadn't gotten to see anyone! :\

feedback tute, diagnosis quiz answers, osce stuff. called the GP to leave my name and number so the coordinator person can call me back at some point. she called later to ask me to call back tomorrow.. wondering if i should go to ED/CATT tomorrow...

got our case reports back. :) am happy.

want to read Shutter Island! tempted to get the book from ebay hmmm. and i didn't get my suitcase. :( it only sold for $28 too, sigh. :( oh well. pretty one on etsy! but i think it doesn't have keys.

my mother says if yuwan isn't staying here next year then i should move to the other rusden apartment so we can rent this entire apartment out. the other rusden apartment is a one bedroom so that makes sense. except that i'll have to move again haha. which means packing.. i'm tired just thinking about it. although having a car helps a great deal. and it just being across the road too haha.
