Blogging might be an annual thing for me...

If you check out the date of our last post, you will see that many moons have passed since that day. Sigh... what can I say? My excuse is due to two things. First, I haven't learned how to do this very good, and second, I don't really have a good second excuse, actually.

So on that note, rather than try to catch up on the last year or so, suffice to say, we are doing great and have been having some interesting adventures. Some of them are in the sky- we go flying together as often as possible and that soooo much fun- especially when we fly at night.

We have traveled up to visit Cam and Suzanne and their boys a few times over the past few months. That is always a fun time and even though our visits are short ones- usually just a couple of days- we love to be there with them to catch up on life with the family of Cam, and to romp and play with Austin and James.

Some of our adventures have been financial ones- trying to cover all our expenses in spite of the new BO Presidency making evil plans to grab even more of Jim's paycheck. This should be against the law or something! I wont say more about that because the risk of my getting up on my soapbox is very high and then I start to get cranky and ramble and it just gets kinda ugly.

Although I love to talk politics with Jim, we don't do it as much as much anymore... usually because it gets tricky trying to end on a positive note. More often than not, we both struggle to realize that things are going so wrong these days from the White House on down, and policies and "the changes" being made are just the opposite of what we believe and want to see happening in order to keep our country safe, free, and a great place to earn your own way. Hey, I just thought of something... instead of a democracy, its becoming a deomcrazy!!! We find the best thing to do is to focus on the good and follow the prophet and be as prepared as possible and of course, just be grateful and happy and remember the Lord is in charge.

We are enjoying having Ky and Dean and Leah stay here with us. This has been a lot of fun and sometimes I start to feel sad when I realize they will eventually move out- it's probably inevitable. I wont say a whole lot more about that either, or you might get all depressed with me.

We have enjoyed the snow and typical Utah winter months, and since the promise of Spring is in the air, I have high hopes that this Summer will be our first with a new deck and sunroom off of the back porch!!! yayee!!! This is something I have been wanting to do ever since we first arrived and noticed the porch our builder put on the back of the house is totally too small and unacceptable and there is nothing you can do with it except stand on it and walk down the stairs.

The other thing we have come to realize is that when the cold months and snow starts, we basically don't even go out that door for about four to five months because the snow builds up and since the sun doesn't shine on that side a whole bunch, it just sits there and gets all drifty and more solid and annoying with each addidtional storm... so we just don't bother going out on to that tiny porch.

I must admit I have been obsessing with the plan for this deck and sunroom a bit, but sometimes I just need something to obsess with. I might get that from my side of the family.

So anyhow, that's just a portion of what is going on these days at our place and now I am going to see if I can actually publish this post and make it work! If all goes well with that, I might get the urge to write more often than once a year! Maybe I will even figure out how to post pictures! This is good therapy for me. It helps me to think that I might not be as computer dumb as my kids- especially Drew thinks I am. Ha- so there Drewski!!!

the beginning of our blog...

Our real names arent pops and marnie but thats what our people call us these days...

This picture was taken the day Leah was blessed. We were at Ky and Dean's house in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It is the most current photo we have of all of us. We all had such a nice day together but as you can see, Leah was not having a good time. So sad... too bad.
