Well, maybe it was the heat ... or possibly the massive amounts of Diet Coke I consumed before my last embroidery class last night ... but for whatever reason, I found myself having a "white night" last night. If you've ready Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Emily" series, you know what I'm talking about. One of those nights where you wake up in the middle of the night, and no matter how hard you try you can't will yourself back to sleep, so you stay up ... and think. Unlike my dear friend, "Emily," I wasn't pining for lost loves ... I was pining over Carrie Nelson's latest book, "Schnibbles times two."
You see, one of my favorite local quilt shops, Bear Paws and Hollyhocks is participating in a Schnibbles contest. All you have to do is make one of the Schnibbles quilts, using a current Moda line, and submit it to the shop by the end of July ... and you can make as many as you like -- the pattern just has to be in the latest book.
So, at three o'clock this morning, I convinced myself that despite the two baby quilts I've started this week, I absolutely, positively had to participate in the July Schnibbles contest. I'm so very excited!!! I've chosen Miss Rosie's "X-Rated" pattern and the blue and green colorways from Moda's Verna line. Keep checking back here for updates!
After the end of July, I'll reveal my finished quilt. It, and all the other Schnibbles contest quilts will be on display at the store from August 1st to August 15th, and you can come in the shop and vote for your favorites!
