Mark 6:1-6
Going from that district, he went to his home town and his disciples accompanied him. With the coming of the sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue and most of them were astonished when they heard him. They said, "Where did the man get all this? What is this wisdom that has been granted him, and these miracles that are worked through him? This is the carpenter, surely, the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joset and Jude and Simon? His sisters, too, are they not here with us?" And they would not accept him. And Jesus said to them "A prophet is only despised in his own country, among his own relations and in his own house"; and he could work no miracle there, though he cured a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.
We can see that people did not accept Jesus... because of his low status in society... do we reject anyone because of their status? because of their race? because of their skin colour? because of peer pressure?
why did his home ppl reject him? Probably they cant bare that their hometown produced this worker "of the devil" as what the scribes said abt Jesus... or they were in favour of their surroundings... "one reject... all reject" or maybe they were jealous? This person... a carpenter... doing miracles... curing the sick...
The villagers were blinded by their own thoughts... actions... and by their lack of faith... therefore... they are unable to see Jesus as the Son of God...
Are we jealous or envious of someone that we reject that person? do we humble ourselves? do we follow our surroundings in doing the same wrong thing? are we blinded by the lack of faith? do we acknowledge Jesus to be the Son of God?
God is calling us... repent... come follow me... acknowledge Jesus... Don't be blinded by the lack of faith... believe... and I'll open the gates of heaven and pour my blessings till overflowing...
Brothers and Sisters.. Jesus is calling us... Are we listening?
"Be still and know that I am God"
"I am here with you always, till the end of time"
"When you seek me you will find me, when you seek me with all you heart, I will let you find me"
God love you
