Christmas at Preschool

DSC_0186 Jaxson had a great time at preschool this Christmas season.  They made so many fun things, had a program for the families, and even got to sit on Santa’s lap.

DSC_0094It was fun to have a child who actually participated in the singing.  Kade refused to make a peep both years he was in preschool.  Jaxson can rock Jingle Bells but he didn’t want the bells on his wrists and he had to wear his Santa hat even though it wasn’t quite time for them yet.  At least he was singing, so we’ll take the rest.  He sings Jingle Bells all the time and he has to jump each time he sings or rather shouts Hey.

My favorite is the licorice just hanging off the roof of his gingerbread house.  His favorite was the snow globe, he loved the fact that his picture was in the water.

Christmas Gifts

For the boys teacher gifts this year I made post it note holders.  They are clear frames filled with scrapbook paper.  Then I just added ribbon and stuck the post its on the front.  I put the first post it through the printer for the Christmas message.DSC_0120 DSC_0148 DSC_0159

I had left over tins from making turkeys at Thanksgiving and left over red sixlets from making rat eyeballs at Halloween so we made Rudolph spares for the kids in our neighborhood.DSC_0124   DSC_0138 The neighbor gifts weren’t very creative this year.  I changed a bread wrapper I found online and we just gave out bread and a poinsettia.  DSC_0043

Our Thankful List

I made this “I am thankful for. . .” printout and put it in a frame so we could write our list on the glass with a dry erase marker.  I started the list with family and then asked Kade and Jaxson the things they are thankful for.  Of course Grandmas and Grandpas were first and as we were going down the list I had to prompt them to add mom and dad or I don’t think we would have made the cut.  Grandmas and Grandpas should feel lucky because they got ranked before pumpkin pie.  Kade loves his pumpkin pie, so that is quite an honor.  Kris was not thrilled that mom beat him but was pretty happy he beat M&M pancakes.DSC_0095 DSC_0069

Thanksgiving Turkeys

We made these turkeys to give to the boys teachers and to our neighbors.

I also liked these so we had to make both.  It was easier for Kade to help me with this turkey because there is no glue involved.  http://thepinkinkdoodle.blogspot.com/2010/11/m-turkey-favors.html

Trick Or Treating and More Halloween Fun

On Friday we went to Kris’ work for their trick-or-treating extravaganza.  This is one of our favorite parts of Halloween.  They have fun decorations and the kids get way too much candy.

DSC_0108  DSC_0119 We also went to Gardner Village to see the witches.DSC_0122 We had to have our traditional dinner in a pumpkin.  The boys drew faces on it before it got cooked. DSC_0125 This one Kade drew crying with lots of tears.DSC_0126 DSC_0128 This one is a guy with a sword stabbing the pumpkin with blood coming down the side.DSC_0130 DSC_0131 DSC_0132 DSC_0134 DSC_0135 On Halloween we only go trick-or-treating to a few houses around the neighborhood because we already have more candy than they will ever eat from dad’s work.DSC_0141 We got Jax to put the mustache on for a few pictures but it was too big.  When dad put it on, it sealed his whole mouth shut.  Perhaps we should have left it on?DSC_0142  DSC_0149 DSC_0151 DSC_0155 DSC_0161 DSC_0162 DSC_0170 DSC_0174 DSC_0177 DSC_0178  DSC_0181 2011
