Los Indignados.
The poster printed below in a previous post was pasted to a wall of my local village near where I live. It is one of the last villages in Spain, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada andwith a view to the Atlas mountains in Marroco. In other words remote. It is truly one of the most significant documents I've read. It signifies the spread of the revolt by a movement first started in Madrid with the occupation of The Puerta del Sol on the 15 May this year. The movement is called 15M and we are Los Indignados - the Indignant. Uniting young and old and a wide range of occupations and classes demanding radical changes to the idea of democracy. We are not in a Crisis - this is a fraud: ideas that spread throughout Spain, with protests in many Spanish cities and marches on the capital. Protests and occupation are peaceful, using the strategy of civil disobedience very courageously in face of brutal beatings. Ive seen it quoted in the news that the Occupy movements in the UK & USA have drawn inspiration from the Spanish experience. I imagine lot of visitors to this site especially in the UK Spain already know all this but knowing that government censorship is already in force in UK and US( eg the pepper spray video on UTube as been removed) you can look this up using the 15M Movement as a start. Britain's Burning.
Reading from The Dictator's Handbook, the ruling classes have blamed the widespread disturbances in Britain on criminals, ( no, not the Bankers. the politicians the press or police. silly) and outsiders, ( no not the Bankers, politicians, the press or police). In the beginning no mention of the possible causes was allowed: anyone who had the audacity to link disturbances with gross inequalities in UK society was quickly stamped on there were no excuses; but we all know them dont we. The poor , alienated and abused are always to blame for not taking it lying down. The best comment I heard was from a poor man on the street: 'We've had enough. Time to take a stand'
In the event the disturbances proved to be good practice for the forces of law and order. And we have seen Human Rights set aside, the courts bullied into draconian sentences with extra punishments for good measure. As the 'Crisis' or, 'Fraud' as the Spanish call it, continues we can see what we are in for when we do say 'that's enough ! '

Another Hero Bites The Dust.
Theres no escape from barren weather
The cold war and the upturned collar
our agents all are under cover
there are no treaties to deliver
The red man trapped in his enclosure
The black man aiming from the shoulder
The white man dying of exposure
And children everywhere get older.
The hollywood avengers
are drunk and disqualified
Missionaries on morphine
lie giggling and paralyzed
On and on the bullet glides
to find its mark between the eyes
It finds its mark
Another hero bites the dust
Another Hero,from Chappaquiddick Bridge

Dirty Work,we wont do it.
Bombing cities pulling switches
We wont do your dirtywork
We wont do your dirty washing
We wont sterilise your dishes
Screw your dirtywork
Bombing cities pulling switches
We wont do your dirtywork
making death is full employment
We wont do your dirtywork
Bombing cities bombing people
While you eat your dirty meal
We wont serve you at your table
Screw your dirty deal
We wont make your dirty weapons
To defend your your dirty war
All thats left is dirty water
Watch the automatic doors
We wont clean the dirty basin
Blood that sticks to stainless steel
We wont do your dirty washing
War machine is bloody real
Contribution to appeasement
Pay the economic whore
Flesh on blood on dirty linen
Watch the automatic doors
We wont make your dirty weapons
To defend your dirty cause
All thats left is dirty water
We dont want your dirty war.

The Downloads.
We have been monitoring the downloads and it appears that most if not all of the visitors have downloaded without making a donation.. We want to make it clear that any money we receive will be used to maintain the site and to help with future projects and good causes. We know that many people are used to downloading for free but as poisongirlfriends know we are not supported by any record company. The money doesnt go to us personally so please be generous. In contradiction to the statement at the head of poisongirls website that I personally have 'generously' given money from Dirty Work: I want to say that other members of poisongirls also support the Dragonfest cause and that I find the congratulation offensive. The culprit will be dealt with.

Live music threatened in Spain
In the foothills of the Spanish Sierra Nevada and just down the road from where I live, there occurred for 13 years from the late 90s to the 2000s, The Dragon Festival, a free festival of live music, bands, sound systems, DJs, performance, poetry, art, happenings... much along the lines of Stonehenge but with more stones.
From its early days as a local event in a field in a dry riverbed, it grew in a short time to attracting international attention. People were coming from all over the world, numbers grew so that by 2001, estimates of 10,000 people attended. Inevitably this began to cause problems; frictions with affected villagers and police who tried with varying degrees of success to stop the festival. The endgame being a local council initiated spoiling of the site area with large holes and secondly by an enormous natural flood of the river which washed away vehicles, buildings, and roads.
On the last occasion when the festival was staged, the result was to charge four people, who worked to provide live music and free entertainment on their own land for many years, with holding a musical event.without permission ,which could result in draconian and life destroying fines amounting to 30,000 Euros for each person.
I personally view this as a threat to free expression, the right to gather for a party and to celebrate the Spring Equinox.
A fund has been opened to pay legal fees and other costs in order to fight the cases.
As a contribution to this, we would like to donate the proceeds from the download of the song Dirty Work. As you will see form the Downloads page, you pay a donation for the track, which will go to the legal fund.
Updates on the progress of this fund will be posted on this page now and then. If you want to know more about the Dragon Festival and the fund, click here to go to the Official Dragon Festival Blog.
