Collin Scott was born on January 27, 2009 at 11:14am. He weighed 7lb. 8oz. and was 21in. long!He has lots of RED hair! My due date was Jan. 22, through my whole pregnancy we had thought for sure i would come early because he always measured big, so i stopped work on Jan 17, five days before i was due, so i could get everything ready. It was a bad idea the 22nd came and still nothing. I was still dialated to a 2 and 75 percent thined so i tried walking around a lot to see if it would help labor progress but my contractions never got more than 10min apart. It was a very long extra week that i could have been working to keep my mind off things. Finally on Monday the 26th i went in for another check up and she decided now that i was over my due date and there was still no change it was time to do something! I was so excited! We went to the hospital at 9:00pm and they gave me medicine to thin my cervix. It was a long night so when they came in at 7:00 the next morning to start the patosen i was more than ready for the epidural. It is a very good thing i got it when i did because as soon as they started the medicine my water broke and the baby dropped and so did his heart rate. Everytime i would have a contraction the babies heart dropped. We waited for about an hour to see if it would regulate out. It started to so the doctors gave me the option if i wanted to try to have the baby natural or have a c-section. They said it was a 50/50 chance that he would be fine coming out natural. Talk about a tough decision. Two doctors two opionions. I recieved a blessing and then me and scott thought about it and both of us said that for the past two weeks when there was no progress being made we had had thoughts in our mind that something wasn't right. I made the final decision to have a c-section. When they pulled collin out he had the cord rapped around his neck four times. He is truly our miracle baby! With the help and comfort of the lord we made the right decision! He is a wonderful baby! We are so lucky to have him in our lives!
