Well, so far 28 is treating me just fine. Despite the cold sore that broke out last week on my lower lip, things are going well. (I realize that might have been TMI for some.) But, considering that SEVERAL of my co-workers, as well as the kids, are dropping like flies, I guess I'll take the sore rather than the cold.
So I rang in my 28th year with just me and my fabulous husband. Ryan made my birthday really special by cooking me a delicious dinner complete with BBQ'ed flank steak, potatoes, broccoli, and a salad. He put candles in an angel food cake and sang me "Happy Birthday" all by himself! It was really sweet. (We added whipped cream and strawberries of course!) AND he had gotten flowers for the table and a dozen red roses to go next to our bed. It was a rather low key birthday, but a good one just the same.
This past weekend, Ryan and I went to one of our favorite places...the mountains! We had a great time. We only got to ski one day which was a little bit disappointing, but it was so snowy and windy on Monday that we decided it was better to get home rather than spend the day on the slopes. An orthodontic company sponsors a trip to Mammoth every year and rents out a cabin for everyone. It was a really great weekend.
I've decided I'm going to dye my hair darker. Not super dark, but kinda brownish/reddish. We went to a wig shop a couple weeks ago, which was actually really fun. I recommend it to anyone who has an hour or so to kill and wants a good laugh. It was great to try on different colors and styles, and they looked pretty realistic! I tried on this sick Grandma wig...it was so funny. Anyway, I was supposed to get it done last week, but my girl had to cancel because the color was sent to the wrong person. Anyway, we re-scheduled and then she canceled again because the color still hadn't come. Now she is out of town for a couple weeks, so when she gets back we'll do it. I don't feel comfortable going to someone new when I'm doing something new, so even though I REALLY can't stand my hair right now, I think it's better to wait it out and have her do it.
K- this is a pretty random post. I guess that's about it. The countdown has started until spring break! YEAH! Just 4 full weeks of school 'til I get 2 weeks off!
(I'll post some pics as soon as I upload them from my camera)
