Our year at a glance . . . so far!!

I haven't been able to blog as much as I would have liked this past year. Well, since finding out we are having TWINS I am required to do a little more down time than I would like, especially since I have about 10 (could be 8) weeks left. The babies are doing well. They are about 2 and a half pounds. The next ultrasound will be in about 2 weeks.

July: I took the kids and followed my mom and dad to visit my sister in Arizona.

We also spent some time at Lagoon

My Mom and Dad celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication.
Went to a cousin reunion.
August: Tawni played soccer. At one game it went into sudden death overtime and she made the winning goal.

The kids went down a natural waterslide in Alpine.

Dan celebrated his 40th birthday. Tawni celebrated her 14th birthday. October: Abby celebrated her 2nd year. Spencer played flag football. Spencer turned 9. Halloween November: Spencer's Pinewood Derby Tyler turned 12. 28 weeks pregnant. So, that is some of what has happened this year so far. The babies are due in February, so I will be very busy after that.

June 5, 1964

45 years ago a young man from Spanish Fork, Utah and a young lady from Aberdeen, Idaho chose to be married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
(We are so grateful that you did.)

Oh the trials they have grown from. They and triumphs they have enjoyed. They places they have seen. The posterity they have created . . . 6 kids. . . . 24 1/2 grandkids.

Thanks mom and dad for all that you have taught me, for your example and for your love.

You guys are GREAT!!!

Jon Schmidt -- I Really Like Him!

These are also two of my favorite songs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v3d6SFcDys

http://www.jonschmidt.com/ Hi...Jon Schmidt here. This arrangement is dedicated to my 7 year old daughter Sarah, who loves the song Love Story by Taylor Swift. Because of a common rhythm element between the tunes, I decided I could mish/mash the two. ...

"MIMOSA"

This is the new color for 2009. I found it very similar to the color (gold) of the new YW value VIRTUE. Is this just a coinsidence? Hmmmmm.

I hope you are all ready to wear and decorate this year with MIMOSA.

Dan's Little Ones

Little Chicks

So, some of you heard that Tawni's pet chicken, Marshmallow , died a few weeks back. Well, on that same day, we received 20 new baby chicks. Dan has been busy taking care of them. The first few nights were just like having a new born. Getting up in the middle of the night and checking on them. The temperature had to be the right temp or they would get too hot or too cold. Since then, the baby chicks are becoming more independent. Thank goodness. So our chicken total is 23.

I also remember a brother-in-law saying that he gives Dan 6 months with the chickens before Dan decides to not take care of chickens anymore. Well, it has almost been 2 years now. Thanks!

Actually, it hasn't been that bad.

Not Sure???

So, I am not quite sure about this blogging thing or even getting on Facebook. It is kind of a love hate relationship for me. I like the fact I am able to be in touch with people I haven't been in touch with for years, but then again, if we really wanted to have stayed intouch, don't you think we would have? I like seeing and hearing about what everyone is up to, but then again I don't like that either because then I feel like I am missing out on a lot of fun. So many of you have such cute blogs. You are very creative in how you express your thoughts and the day or vacation you have had. Some of you show your yummy treats that you have time to make. Some show what great moms you are and celebrate and take pictures of every holiday. And some show off the great accomplishments that your kids do.
So, I continue at my lame attempt to blog. It isn't going to be the funniest, or show the yummiest things, or even be kept up to date, but hey, I have something.
So, I continue to look at blogs, and sometimes spend too much time looking. And even though I am looking, I am not much of a comment gal either.
Do you think blogging reveals the type of person we are? That could be interesting.
So, for what it is worth, here are some pictures of what we have been up to. The ones I remembered to take pictures of.

FOR VALENTINE'S DAY
The kids gave us a "heart attack"

They covered the whole room with hearts. I think Tawni cut out all of the hearts.

Our Family at the Draper Utah Temple Open House

After the Open House, you were invited to the chapel for some refreshements. This cute little sister was playing the piano. She did it all by memory. That paper in front of her is the list of songs she was playing. Oh, she was even hooked up to an oxygen tank.

Finally, something to update!!

Ashlie lost a tooth. She was so brave. It was actually a bit boring. We were so used to the previous 3 children being so dramatic. They would cry, a lot, not let us touch the tooth at all. Not with Ashlie. She did not cry at all. Dan tied some dental floss around the tooth and gave a quick pull. The "procedure" was done in a few minutes. It literally flipped right out. We were lucky to find it.
The baby teeth, soo tiny!

Okay, so we sat down to play a game as a family. Abby wanted to be apart of that also. As you see, she plopped right down and layed on the board. Thanks Abby!

Christmas

Ashlie Loves Dance
A new member of our family. I guess his name is Jefferson. The girls (hens) did not understand why this "MAN" was invading "their" territory. They have since accepted him.
