Have a Good Christmas?

We hope everyone had a good Christmas. Do we all love the snow here in Utah? Highland surely received its fair share. It was nice getting together with family. Always eventful. We heard from Dan's mom. I think everyone enjoyed talking to her and hearing her voice. My mom and dad slept over on Christmas Eve. We all enjoyed that. I hope everyone did old tradtions and maybe start new ones. I would love to hear some traditions that are done.

Space Derby

This was the first time this ward has done a Cub Scout Space Derby. I have to admit it was not very organized. They got mixed up on who was to race who, etc. I would like to admit, that if things were done correctly, Spencer would have placed in the derby. No I am not bitter at all. Just glad that it is over.

Keeping Kids Busy

During Thanksgiving break I tried to keep the kids busy with activites. For one of our activities we made candy houses. They had a great time. They started nibbling on their houses by the end of the activity. I was lucky to get a picture of their houses.

My First Thanksgiving

Well this year was a first for me. I have been married for 15 years and this is the first time I did Thanksgiving by myself. It wasn't too bad. We stayed home with our little family and did Thanksgiving on our own. It was quiet and relaxing. Everyone pitched in and we all had a great time.

Dan fried our turkey. It was very crispy and juicy. Very Yummy! I missed not having the gravy I usually make with the drippings.
I was incharge of the dessert.

Update

Okay so maybe I am a bit confused about what holiday it is. Fall Background, Spencers pictures from Halloween, and Christmas songs. Maybe it isn't confusion, but, haven't had the time to do a lot of changes.

Tyler did flag football and really liked it. It kept us busy for a few weeks a couple of nights a week. Love that. Abby has been sick. I think it is because she has been trying to push through 3 molars. OUCH! Ashlie is liking kindergarten and her dance class. She is also excited because she is able to read some books on her own. Spencer gets his cast off next week. I will be happy for that. Then I won't hear," I can't do any chores because I have a broken arm." Spencer is also getting baptized soon. We are not sure on the date yet. We are trying to work it own with Dan's work schedule. We will let you know soon when it will be. Tawni is doing great. She measured herself and was excited because she grew about 1 inch in one month. Way to go.

Mowing season is almost done. The mowing part of it is done but there are still customers that need yard work done. The time change has made it a lot harder to get yard work done after Dan gets done from the post office. And for myself, just keeping up on where everyone needs to be and what needs to get done. Trying to squeeze in some things I like to do as well.

It has been a little different living here in Highland. I have been called to the Enrichment Committee and Dan has been called to teach the 11 yr old boys. That would be Tylers class. That means I get to be with Abby in the hall for 2 hours. You see, she is 13 months old and doesn't like to sit on my lap too much anymore. The kids are adjusting well. They have met some friends. I can't say Dan and I have met any friends yet. This house is very cold all the time. Whoever built it did not think about heating and air conditioning costs. The ceilings are very high and the heat just goes to the ceiling. So, during the day Ashlie and I and Abby stay in the Master bedroom with a space heater. That works out pretty well. Walking around with slippers, robes and an extra sweater or jacket works also. I am ready to go to Arizona for the winter.

Spencer Breaks His Arm!

This was a little bit scary for us. We came home from church on Sunday and opened the garage door. Well it only opened a little bit. Tyler decided to crawl underneath and open the door the rest of the way for everyone. By the way, mom and dad were not present at the time. Well, Spencer decided he wanted to crawl underneath the door as well. Tyler did not see him and pushed the button. Tyler thought the door was supposed to go up but instead it went down, right on Spencers elbow. Of course, Spencer screams out. It broke both bones right above the wrist.
After he had his hard cast put on.

Spencer just after he came from the hospital. He is a little bit drugged up. After waiting for Spencer to come out of anesthesia, the nurse asked him if he could walk. Spencer said "well, I broke my arm there is nothing wrong with my legs. Spencer likes to state the obvious.

Grandma Platt goes to the MTC!!

She is so excited to be going. There was a little bit of a mix up. She thought she was going to be in the MTC for 3 weeks, well turns out, she is only going to be there until this Saturday (6 days).
Grandma Platt is excited to be on her mission.

Grandma Platt sad to be leaving the family.

Abigail's Birthday Party

I can't say this isn't the first time she has had cake.

It is hard to believe. Our baby is ONE! This past year has gone by so fast. I hardly remember our Abby being a small baby. She has been such a blessing to us. This past year has been such an emotional rollercoaster for us. Abby has kept us smiling and laughing through it all. We love her and are so grateful that she is apart of our lives. Do I really want to do this??

Okay, so Dan wonders why I am doing a BLOG. He doesn't think that anybody cares about what is going on with us. Maybe there is a little bit of truth to that. But for me, this is the only way I have time to do any form of scrapbooking or journaling, etc. Life right now has been so hectic. So, I hope this is going to work. I am still learning all of the in/outs of blogging. Comments and tips are much appreciated.
