Birthday Girl...over due

 We had a lot of fun throwing Little Miss's birthday party. Turning 5 is a big deal. I remember my 5th birthday party (Lovely Lady Locks). I wanted her to have a fun, remember-able party too.

A friend and I got together and threw a combined party for our girls. (They are ten days a part and best friends). I loved planing and working together. So much better then doing it myself.

The theme: Fairy Garden Party. Little Miss would always add 'tea party' because we had little teapots to hand out at the end. 

When the girls arrived they decorated wands and crowns. We played a few games outside and ate a delicious lunch.

Then we had a... PUPPET SHOW!

Weeks before the party I found a puppet theater curtain at a second-hand store. I love puppet shows. For the party we did a scavenger hunt puppet show. The girls and Pedal, the Fairy, made a cake for the two birthday girls. The girls were given clues to where they would find the ingredients for the cake. My brother Nathan came up with the idea and Jamie my sister wrote the story. They needed flower...

and mushrooms.

I love my sister. She was visiting from Washington and was able to help me with the party. I loved putting on the puppet show with her. It was so hard not to laugh behind the curtain.

After the show the girls decorated cupcakes...

 and destroyed (slowly) a beautiful butterfly pinata. Magali (the birthday girl's mom) made the cupcakes, hung beautiful decorations and made the pinata. Look how cute.

 

The girls had a blast. We had so much fun throwing it. I do love a good party.

 He found an old man fishing and asked if he could try. Pretty much when you are the birthday boy you can do whatever you want, right?

 Thank you to all our friends who celebrated with us. I know he had a great time.
