the cousins are coming!!!

Welcome to Utah!! Natalie and four of her five kids came to visit for the week of the 24th.

So I got to play tour guide. We went to st. george and toured some of the early pioneer sites. We went to the Iron Mission Museum.

For the 24th we went to the cedar parade, the kids loved all the candy. We played in the water. We went to Enoch's parade, which for us is just a big water fight. We bring a cooler of water balloons and squirt guns. Adam made enemies with some people as he got them wet. but it was fun.

We went to the park for the festivities and on to the green show. the kids were grumpy by then so we didn't stay up for the fireworks.

We also hiked kanaraville falls. Always fun and beautiful! The kids loved hiking in the creek.

As always, it was pretty hot that week. So Adam hooked the kids up with a slip 'n' slide that started when you went down the slide. I think that was a life saver for the kids. They loved it and even little ali got in on the fun. so busy and so fun! Thanks Natalie for coming down!!

Here is a cute video of Ali walking the spider walk and the other of the kids playing.

the aggressive girl!

For those of you who only see Sophie's shy side, which is probably everyone since she is so quiet around others. Here are a few shots of what she is like at home. Adam loves to tease the girls. Usually by taking something of theirs, and boy does sophie get upset. Right here Adam took something from Bella and Sophie is a great sister and always gets everything back from daddy. Of course dad gets a kick out of her attitude so he really gets her going even more. Can you just see that aggression?? Boy are we in for it!

night time play

so lately we have been waking up to sophie on the couch asleep. Its so funny, sometimes she will have books by her and sometimes her dolls. Its like she wakes up and plays around and then falls asleep. I guess she at least gets herself a blanket. Of course it was scary the first time Adam woke up and didn't find sophie in bed. You'd think she would be scared out there by herself!

Independence Day!

So me and Adam started the day at 6 a.m to get ready for our 5K race. Adam was very nice and ran with me the whole way, which slowed him down but helped me to run faster. It was fun to run together though. I got 5th in my age group and Adam got 3rd in his. He got $3 for it. funny huh?

Then we went to the Cedar parade... why don't they ever have floats? is my question. Still lots of fun. here are the girls waiting for anyone to throw them candy. Another thing about parades, they are no longer throwing candy. come on!

yes, the girls love candy and get way excited about one little piece. As for the shirts... what do you think?? They turned out cute huh? I didn't finish them entirely, the sleeves are not finished but they still looked cute. oh and that is a girl from our ward who happened to be there which was fun for bella to have a friend.

We then went to our neighbors for a bbq. She made these yummy inside out burgers. Yum!! They had mozzarella in the middle of them and the hamburger buns were made like garlic bread. I am definitely making them.

Talbot Reunion - Idaho!

Okay, so our very fun reunion was packed with adventure in a very small amount of time. Here are some pics of our fun time.

Here is our dutch oven tradition. We made a cobbler. We had about 160 people up there this year. We also played horse shoes, had a survivor competition, price is right which I did horrible in and many more fun activities. It was lots of fun!!

this is a picture of the pulley swing. Its so fun, all the girls loved it. It goes down a mountain.

This was one of the crazy things we discovered. Well... some of my family had gone in previously years but it was a first for me. So this swing was done by someone else and my family just found it, you have to hike up to it. As you can see you swing out on a slope. it was super fun!! and at first I thought it was pretty safe but the next day we took one of my cousins on it and he slipped and flipped down the mountain really banging himself up and ended up getting 13 stitches. Yikes!! Needless to say, we probably may never do that again. You get really high. Like 20 feet or so.
