Introduction to PiTUM

Pesta Informasi Teknologi Universiti Malaya (PiTUM) is a new event in the University of Malaya which is organized by the students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), University of Malaya (UM). PiTUM consists of several activities that will be held beginning in mid-July 2009 and ending on the 2^nd of August.

PiTUM will begin with the Cyber Games Competition before moving on to the Exhibition and Campus PC Fair which will be held together on the final 3 days of the event (31^st July - 2^nd August) at Tunku Chancellor Hall (DTC) and Gazebo Perdanasiswa. The Campus PC Fair will be our main event and attraction for PiTUM whereas the exhibition is a side event that covers technological advances made by computers as well as research in the fields of computer science and information technology.

The preliminary rounds of the Cyber Games Competition will be start on second week of July 2009 at FCSIT. Contestants will be separated into a several groups (depending on the no. of participants) and the top 2 teams of each group will move on to the next round. The semi-finals and finals will be held on the 1^st and 2^nd of August 2009 at DTC, UM.

The IT and Robotic exhibition will feature a number of products or research results provided by our FCSIT lecturers and/or postgraduate students while the Campus PC Fair will be made up of partitions setup inside DTC for exhibitors to sell their computer hardware and/or software.
