Review: ♥♥♥♥♥
Chapter one of “Boardroom Baby Surprise” opens with Morgan Stevens panting through a contraction in the waiting room of what she thinks is her baby’s father’s office. And then her water broke in the conference room. If you think I was going to put the book down after that. . . This book caught me in right from page one, sentence one. I was hooked.
What do you do when something you’ve believed turns out to be false? The man she thought was Bryan Caliborn was actually his late brother. This on top of everything else that was happening to her made Morgan very wary about getting involved with another man. But Bryan wouldn’t take no for an answer. And his logic irritated her beyond belief – or was that hormones speaking?
This story is filled with events that take the reader by surprise. It is sweet in that Bryan can’t seem to help himself when it comes to helping, and being with Morgan, even though he wonders if she is a liar and a gold-digger. It is sad because Dillon, Bryan’s brother, died without even knowing that he was going to be a father.
Jackie Braun did an excellent job of taking the reader from one emotion to another. Each page was better than the page before. Each chapter more interesting than the last. Even though I hooted with laughter when Morgan’s water broke in the middle of a boardroom filled with stuffy old men, the book was still down-to-earth, and very believable. Ms Braun’s wonderful command of the English language makes reading her books a delightful experience that carries you from laughter to tears and back again.
