Sentimental Sunday...
Two weeks from now, I should be completely checked in and moved in at college. The preface to my college career. I have so many things to look forward to, and while I sit here and type, a notecard on my mom's bulletin board, comes in focus. It is a Bible verse, her favorite.
I may just copy this and post it on my desk at school.
I too, have my plans for the future and hope that God sees fit to help me along with these goals.
I am looking at college as a brand new beginning, a fresh start, one to build not only my future, but maybe even the basis for my life to build from.
I am already part of a pilot project with a "success coach" and the university's President. I am part of a leadership initiative that will take me through all 4 years. And I plan to go through sorority recruitment and hopefully be matched and pledge my top choice. (shhh...that sorority is a secret).
However, I entitled today's post as Sentimental Sunday.
I look back on my mom and me living with my nana and papa from birth
till my mom remarried when I was 12.
I love my Uncle Jack for being a second dad to me (mine was absent) even when he had his own little girl.
I think back to all the fun times and trips that my family (nana, papa, mom and me) took together.
I look back on playing ball and the year that my mom and papa coached me.
I look back on my years as a member of the National League of Junior Cotillions, and my years as an assistant with them as well.
I look back to years of dance, dance company, chorus, Evening of Entertainment, and just performing.
I look back on my mom and dad's wedding, and my dad adopting me.
I look back on all the great trips to the beach and being lucky enough to have a place at the beach.
I look back on high school, my teachers, homecomings, New York, chorus shows, prom and graduation.
There are so many things I could list here.
However, with all of these memories in my heart, it is now time to look to the future.
