hello!! i know i haven't been updating for the longest time ever. partially because i was busy, and partially because i thought that friends who take time to regularly check this blog will almost know everything that's going on in my life anyway. :)

so in short.
1. i was highest in my course for my thesis, which pulled up my overall grade to distinction. i guess there could be no better ending to my school life than this, so i am really extremely grateful. :)))

2. sad thing is that i will not be going back to the uk in january for convocation, because i've started working! in one of the big 4. i was really against the idea of going back to big 4 at first, but along the way i just learnt that having a higher degree doesn't make me more capable and i really should start from the basics. big 4 is a very good starting point for me to gain some relevant experience, which is probably more important than prospects and pay for a first job.

3. so before i started working i went on a 15-day trip in thailand with dad and mum. bangkok ayutthaya sukhothai chiangmai chiangrai, and i loved chiangmai the most. dad planned everything. nothing beats having a dad who's adventurous and passionate about travelling. :))

4. work has been good. :) though at first it was really tough trying to get up early in the morning. each time the alarm clock rang it felt as if i've only slept for 5 minutes, haha. the people are mostly very nice too. i guess i'm not regretting my choice at all. :)

5. qiaochu is coming to singapore this weekend to spend new year with me. really look forward to seeing her, and i can't wait for the day that i reunite with the rest of my warwick friends. :)

i should stop making promises that i'll update again because i think i never followed up on my previous posts. i shall just update all of you in person ok. lots of love and merry christmas! 

hi. feeling an enormous emptiness. job-seeking isn't getting anywhere yet. i have to keep reminding myself that the HRs probably need more time to process the applications because it's been only a week or so since i submitted mine? 度日如年 fits perfectly here. everyone who's working is telling me to enjoy the freedom while i can, and i know very well that i will understand after i start working, but i just want to start working.

exchange of messages with friends who are all back in china now is still frequent though getting less frequent, and i find it harder and harder to come up with new topics other than 'what have you been doing'. i know that everyone still cares for one another and misses the days together, but our paths have truly separated with each of us back to our own old/new lives.

friends in singapore are all busy working/studying, and it really sucks being the only unemployed one idling at home from day to day. everyone's so busy that i don't even feel like calling anyone out. and when someone initiates a last-minute meet-up because his/her initial plan gets cancelled, i feel like a plan B.

i hope that this waiting can end soon, whatever that i'm waiting for.

watching NDP songs on youtube and looking forward to returning to my sunny energetic little island. :)

anyway, i haven't been doing a proper update for quite a while. post-exam days are good though still busy with school stuff. birthday was good too though it turned out a bit different from expected lol. life in general is good :) and i can't wait to start making plans for other parts of europe that are to be visited after i'm done with iceland.

went jogging/walking with two classmates just now around the campus. discovered some beautiful beautiful places which we've never known existed before.

beautiful beautiful school. post-exam life is SO beautiful i just want to hold onto it x) (i'm so repetitive right hehe :p)

booked my train tickets to cambridge on 19th may because i want to go travelling on my own for the first time in my life. :) though it's just gonna be a day trip la, i know. :p wanted to stay at a hostel the previous night initially, but dad still seemed worried so i decided against it. it will be a memorable day i am sure. :)

anyway, so many pieces of good news coming from my friends back in singapore these days, i feel genuine happiness for each and every one of them! time to start striving for my own. :)

received TWO postcards from matt who was at netherlands over the weekend :D :D apparently someone has only one exam this term so he's so free that he can go on pre-exam holidays, zzz idiot.

speaking of exams, i'm just left with one more paper next week, and that'll be the last paper that i'm sitting for as a student (for as far as i can see). so many emotions running through me! savouring every single moment of studying now heehee (:

so super sunny and hot these days, i'll be out in shorts soon. D:

the trip was great, and despite having been to bath before, i still enjoyed it the most. really love bath for its serenity and tranquility and sophistication. even just sitting at a bench beside the abbey in the setting sun reading dear john was a lovely experience. i really don't mind going back to bath again for the third time. hope that when chuanhan yongquan and joshua come, they'll have time for that beautiful city. :)

it's been exactly half a year since i came to england, and i must say that i have learnt so so much. learnt to cook, learnt to look after myself and make plans for myself, learnt to embrace different cultures, learnt to appreciate people and be impressed by them and impress them, learnt to be more optimistic and carefree, learnt to appreciate the little joys in life, learnt to give without asking for anything in return, learnt to study out of passion for the subject and not for the pursuit of the grades. i am certain that when i eventually go back to singapore half a year later, i will be a different self. different in a better way, i promise. :)

daylight saving starts at 1am later. which means that i have one hour less of sleep tonight, which also means that the time difference will be shortened by an hour. cheers. :)

will be at bath (again), bristol and cardiff for the next 3 days. :))

today's weather is amazing. the sun is bright and there is no wind. 16 degree C, not too cold and not too warm, just the right temperature for stockings and skirt and a matching pair of flats. my mood is also amazing. next week is going to be the last week of the term, and also the last week of the taught courses. after the spring holidays it's just going to be exams and dissertation, no more attending classes like a real student. 2 presentations and 1 test are awaiting next week, but how i wish time can pass a little slower, or even better, stop at where it is now.

i have no idea how and when i started feeling the way i am feeling now. every day is a day that i want to hold on to. studying things that i enjoy with people that i like, working on assignments and getting busy but never forgetting to live life to the fullest. cooking wonderful meals together out of the simplest ingredients, or just sitting at the staircase outside the supermarket under the moon in the chilly night breeze, munching on ice cream and talking about the destination for the next trip out of town.

before this year, i've never ever known that happiness can be this simple. i miss home, dad, mum, bestfriends and friends, but at the same time i really want to just go on living like this forever. :)
