What a Break !

Merry Christmas everyone!

Oops, I think I am alittle late, but the christmas joy is still in the air!

And I hope everyone had an enjoyable one.

Though mine is quite stale.. as Daniel needs to go complete his school project. But I took 2 weeks break from work and yes, I think its worth it - even though many would think that I should have encashed it.

For once, I felt time passed so slowly..

Went to attend a wedding dinner with my ex-colleagues and we shared so many jokes and laughters everywhere.. catching up the good old times.. :p

I cry coz I am sad, not coz I want to win!

The driving attitude of my hubby is quite bad... it was better last time..

He complains over people overtaking when he is already moving up, people overtaking without signalling.. etc.. (I don't wish to remember).. I did feedback to him before, but it didn't go into him. And I just put with it and hoped that he will realise it - one fine day.

However, I don't remember him being like that previously..

Somehow, last night an incident triggered me.. and tears fell from my eyes..

He asked why did I cry for? So that I will win from our arguement?

That hurts!

Leg cramps and Heartburn

Welcome to the 2nd trimester..^_^

It's called the Honeymoon period..

My mood gets better, more cheerful.. more energise and able to concentrate in the things that I want to..

However, I experience leg cramps and heart burn as well.

Leg cramps:

sometimes at night while fast asleep, just a turn to the side.. I could feel a pulling sensation at the leg veins causing me to experience leg cramp. Left or right? I think both; but of coz at different times. But their manageable as they go off like 1 to 3 secs.

The worst was when it continued more than that.. I screamed and Daniel woke up to help me straighten my leg.. it was the left leg.. it last maybe not more than a min.. but it certainly scared me..

Heartburn:

I didn't know what was I experiencing, however I suspected that it could be heartburn, and called my sister to confirm. And yes, it feels like that you over-ate, but that night.. I couldn't eat much as I was not feeling comfortable.

Sleeping time was worst. I felt so uncomfortable at my chest area and my shoulders were aching.. I rubbed myself with medicated oil and closing my eyes trying to catch some sleep..

Tossing and turning didn't help much. Finally, at 4.30am, I log online to read more about heartburn.. yes.. what a time right?

Seems like we are suppose to add more pillows at my back, so that I can rest at an upright position. Finally, I manage to doze off..

What a night.. :(

First Trimester

Just a little note on how's my 1st trimester.. in case i forgot about it.. :p

First, I couldn't stop eating.. I feel hungry very now and then.. I ate lots of bread, biscuits and chocolates.. Whatever I feel like eating, I'll just consume it..

Then, I do feel tired easily too.. bad mood swing.. I couldn't concentrate on my work.. could be due to going to the loo at wee hours just to clear my bladder.. and...

What's worst was my encounter with morning sickness.. and it hanged around me daily till after lunch about 3pm.. and I am already feeling hungry at about 4plus.. besides, sometimes after eating, they all ended up in the sewage..
The weight I've put on.. I rather not mention it... :x

Thumbs up for Daniel who did his best to help make me feel more comfortable after each time.. :)

The First Kick

It's already the 20th week. And the changes that's happening in me is quite interesting.

I remembered about 1.5weeks ago, I could experience some wriggling and tapping in my abdomen area.
Nope, it's not gastric juice... nor it's "gas building" but it is our baby moving... :)

Such moment, you'll only experience when you are becoming a mother. Daniel tried to feel it, and yes.. he did..

Every night he kisses my tummy good night.. rubs my tummy.. and talks to baby..

Once, we played the instrumental music for babies.. the moment it played, our baby started to kick vigoriously! This feeling is so unique..

At work, it's super busy.. I don't have time for anything.. Help! Sometimes, I felt that I am not prepared and have not done anything to prepare for our baby.. :s

Have to start planning!

Discovery Moment

Due to my horrific skin condition, we went to this skin doc recommended by my MIL in Jul.

Doc recommended some cleanser and cream for the skin as well as pills. However, he warn that if pregnancy occurs, pill intake should be stopped.

Back home, I tried the cleanser and cream as I was quite wary of the pills and besides, the period for the month had not report yet.

2 weeks "grace period" passed and to me, it's time to consume the pills. But, I'd decided to be double confirm my status - afterall, we were trying.

After testing on the test kit, my hands shivered. I didn't dared to look at the results, I passed the kit to hubby to confirm and he became the first to know. Many things race thru my mind - in disbelief and shock. To re-confirm, we tested a second time and confirmed again.

Somehow, both of us were still in doubt and we decided to confirm with our GP - the third test. After it has been confirmed, we broke the news to our family members and received congrats blessings from them.

Next, we need to make the first appointment with a gynae to see the development. And we had no clue on which gynae to choose from or what are the criteria we should look at. We thought and hope to find a good value one. And we made an appointment with the gynae that was recommended by Diana.

BBQ - unforgettable

Yes, it's another BBQ at my brother's house. I couldn't rememeber when was the last one, but I think it was a hotpot laksa instead celebrating Javienne's birthday? Oh well.. this time round there were hiccups with the hotpot. It don't seem to work the way that it is suppose to. It's not TOO hot.

We wasted like an hour or so, waiting for the steam dumplings. And of coz, waiting for the hotplate to heat up and sizzle the yummy food!

Finally, we gave up and started the fire on the BBQ pit instead. And the next thing you know it, it began to rain - gosh... however, we continued, thanks to my brother and wife for being such kind hosts! And the yummy crabs that they cooked over the fire - YUMMY ! Breaking the "gong" with the juice inside and biting it off, what else can we ask for?

Thinking about it now, I couldn't wait for the next one!

It Hurts!

I've got a tooth attack last weekend and had to get it extracted.

The pain was excruciating

But before I decided whether to extract or not, all factors were considered. For example, money and work-related matters. However, will be able to manage the pain? It's definately no. This time, the pain is the worse of all Pains. I couldn't sleep, panadol didn't help.

See this expensive tooth..

May Day celebration

Oh.. its a long weekend again! Pretty good I would say..

A quick update:

Friday, Da Niu went for the Harvey Norman sales + Courts + Liang Court and bought a S10 netbook back. It's small and compact!
As for me, I brought my parents and Mathilda out to PP for lunch and shopping. But we left home shortly when mummy had stomache. And ferried my sis and brother in law to and fro the Expo Metro sales as I told them that they shouldn't drive there, especially when there is an electrical fair.

Saturday, paid all the bills in the morning and bought a pair of sandals @ $10 coz the wedges that I was wearing splited! Thus, I've got to get it replace, and decided to get a pair of sandals, so that I can wear it at anytime. :) My brother's family were at my mum's place. Luckily I brought along the present (hairband) for Da-sao and I hope that she'll like it. Well, my sis and I also went to the shoe shop to buy some shoes as it's her birthday month - I choose another sandals.

Finally, on Sunday we woke up pretty early in the morning to go to the beach. We prepared fruit punch and tuna sandwich. Mummy dearest bought carrot cake for breakfast but alamak, we ate liao.

Ms Rainbow

I got to know Ms Rainbow when I got trasferred. And coincidentally, we were paired together in a presentation. And even though I have an allocated place for myself to sit. But being an introvert + negative person, I sometimes do prefer sitting in between Donnie and her. And after some re-shuffling, we are seated next to each other.
I think she has a great sense of humour, equolent, filial, positive and smart! She is also very nice to fetch us out for lunch everytime! Not to mention creative enough to compose a poem about me and calling names of ourselves the opposites. We even have mirror image acnes.. how weird.. hahaha~

She is someone that does not make you feel like you are at work. Sometimes, it's just a simple gesture or a normal conversation. I'll find it so funny that we will laugh it out loud - All because we imagine.

There was once, she picked my badge (w/o telling me) Walked around and "finding" with me (when I realised that it's missing). I was really worried then, but I kept eating waffle biscuits. Until I needed the toilet, and I was asking her to follow. Then she say, she can't follow. But she can lend me the badge. Then she shows me the badge that is hanging down the lanyard => showing MY BADGE
WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! it's so funny.. we both laughed so hard that our cheeks turned RED!

And Whenever I sigh, she will say like "A.. don't hai~ hor" or she'll be like "Why? What happen?"
Then when she is preparing to take off to her honeymoon with Ryan. I was kind of xian. Coz, I got to back her accounts.. OOPS!!! No lah, just a week without energy boost.. But she wrote me a note:"

"Dearest Iris, I will be away for the next week plus. Take care and don't munch too much tibits. You know, it is bad for Health. If you are bored, ask Shouqin to sing you a song. Although he don't sing as good as me, well, no fish, shrimp is good enough. Okie, bye and see ya soon. With Love.. Doris Ng."

I am very thankful that she has great listening skills - WHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thanks Iris for lending your ears to me and consoling me when I badly need one.

Craving for Pineapple tart

Last Sunday, we went to my bro's house to bake pineapple tarts. When we reached, I brought Jarae down to the convenience store and bought a bottle of bubble and a Kinder Kids Chocolate.
Then back at home, I started preparing the ingredients for the pastry. Thanks to Debbie that helped me with the pineapple. In the midst of moulding the dough. Jarae would just come by the dining table, looking at the tray of unbake pineapple tarts and say "hmm.." (sounding like it's yummy) "nice.." (as if it's ready to eat) ^__^ Hahahaha! But of coz it's not! It's not even baked!

We made 2 portions, hence Javienne chipped in to help on cutting out the size of the pastry. I guess, she had fun too! I mean, where to find such kids on hand session man! Good Job Javienne.
As for Janelle, she is stuck with Daniel - Playing PSP
With the remaining dough and no more pineapple, Da-sao magically transferred it into a peanut cookie. Just by adding chopped peanuts and sugar in it. But, I think we'll have to add in more sugar next time. Good try!

A windy day out at the beach

It's SUNDAY!

We went out to buy branch for our family, before we proceed with our programs today.
Daniel and I chio my brother's girls (Janelle and Javienne) out to for pizza! :p
Just got pay $$$ mah .. so kind of want to bring my nieces out for a meal!

We went to Toys'rus for alittle shopping. (But I didn't bring my Toys'rus card)...
However, we bought form animals capsules, and a bag of sand castle tools. We are thinking of going to the beach. But looking at the weather, I thought it might be a good idea to buy sun block. We headed to Watsons, but we did not buy any as they were alittle expensive (more worth to buy when they are on sale).

We went back to my mum's place first, as we wanted to invite more children along. But only, Matilda is around - along she went with us.

Thankful enough, there were ample parking spaces available. We put an hour coupon and off we go to build sand castle. It's super windy and the tides were high. There were a couple of people flying kites. We tried building a castle near the stone chair, but the sand were too coarse and dry - the castle failed. We then move nearer to the sea as the sand there are more moist. Poor kor kor Daniel had to fetch many pails of water. :)

While the wind remain as strong, I am glad that Matilda was not afraid of the it together with the big waves. She enjoyed herself too, happily scooping sands with the tools. When we're done, we headed back to another stone chair to clean ourselves. Kor kor Daniel again, fetch pails of sea water for us to clean up, keeping our feet off any sand particles.

After we decided to go straight back home as we load ourselves back into the car, the sky began to rain - big BiG droplets of rain came rushing down. How lucky can we be ? - as we made the right decision to go back home. ;p

Boutiques

Today, I spend a wonderful day with my friends (Iris, Lynette & Pauline aka Gigi).
Connie aka Donnie couldn’t make it as her boyfriend accidentally cut his finger. Yes, it’s his index finger. Though he is admitted into CGH, but I believe he will be well soon under Donnie’s care. :)

I manage to clear my work and leave on time as we move on to town for our shopping trip. Someone in the car keep getting confuse over Kaplan and SIMM. Well, there is no right or wrong answers! :p Thanks to Iris for the ride there!

We parked at Cairnhill and went straight to Paragon. Overall, we went to the following: Gucci, Long Champ, Furla, (oh no, I can’t remember if I left out any) then we moved on to Takashimaya, LV. In LV, I saw a bag which is quite nice. Latest addition handbag and it cost $3330/- what a number to remember isn’t it? I wanted to get a wallet for Daniel, but I am not sure if he likes the design. I am not sure why I have this doubt in me. Is it because I know he won’t like it? Is it too expensive? Or is it not suitable for him? No idea, I can’t decide. Then we went for our dinner @ Sushi Teh. We chatted a lot, stories from Iris (Ms Rainbow) family and little stories from me.

I felt that after today’s event, I could feel my old-self coming back. When I was showering back home, I came to realize that it was the unhappy event that happened last year that turned my life upside down. Turning me into an unhappy, self-centered, bored, and goal-less person.

Deep in my heart, I longed to be that old Doris again. Planning events for my family, my nieces and nephews, meeting up with friends, and going back to shopping. Just simply doing the things that I enjoy doing before. Sometimes, I feel that I am slowly picking myself up from the mud and returning. But will it still be the same? How long will it take? And I have decided to try it out this weekend!

Oh yes and today, Daniel and I applied for the newly HDB ballot exercise which is located at Punggol – The Nautilus. We hope that we’ll get it this time!

Korea 2009

We're back from Korea !

Its really a fun and tiring trip .. hee hee .. changing hotels everyday wor ...

First thing we did was to review our photos and videos !

The 7 days trip was good .. everything went smoothly .. from the flight to tour members to tour guide to sceneries to food and to shopping .. it was fulfilling ... let me share some memorable experience with you ..

Flight : by Korean Air

Surprisingly its without a media infront of you .. but a common shared tv .. it was a long time since i last saw this . Coz now its like every seat has got a tv screen with options of selecting your movie or games .. but not for this case . I was like "xian" .. but ok lah .. first flight there was night flight .. so i spent most of my time snorrrrring away .. ZZzzz .. dear dear had a fulfilling time with his PSP ! The meal on board are not bad too ..

I am just glad that I didn't have airsick .. ^__^ no medicated oil used - even for flight to Jeju !!!

Braving ourselves

As we didn't put on my long john when we touch ground .. the first place we went .. National Park .. and Prime Minister's Office .. Cafe .. it was already freezing cold ... how regretful we were .. (i still can remember we were telling ourselves at the airport .. the cold weather there are still acceptable mah- so don't need long john) just a sweater will do .. and shared between ourselves hor .. but of course during the rest of the journey .. we equipped ourselves with whatever we needed .. :)

Jeju

Then we flew to Jeju .. visited the Teddy Bear Museum and Mysteries Road .. its real windy .. I didn't really dared try their street side snacks.. fearing that i might tummy upset .. but thankfully no .. the bun was not bad .. something plan to start with lah ..

Honey

One of the famous product in Jeju .. Filled with millions micro-organism that are good for our body .. hmm ... just like the yakult we drink .. we tried and it tasted good ! we bought 2 big bottles of Pure Honey .. and a bottle of "Wu Wei Zi" Honey .. (5 taste), when we drank that , it taste not bad .. like some sour plum drink .. great for making a family occassion drinks .

Food

The food there is great .. My favourite and most unforgettable is the abalone porridge .. It combines the freshness taste of the seafood added as well .. sweet and YUMMY ! Every meal comes with Kimchi .. all kinds of other small cold side dishes .. like seaweed.. ikan bilis .. beansprout .. radish .. pickles .. etc ..

Something unique to share .. the chopsticks that they use are flat .. unlike the ones we use in SG .. they are round and easy to grip . The flat ones in korea are hard to grip .. much less to pick the food .. but ok lah .. still can use .. hee heee heee .. NEXT would be the bbq chicken /pork wrapped with lettuce !!! Its a killer ! I went back home and organised a bbq with family on this dish as well ! We also manage to try the "Zha Jiang Mian" (Black Sauce Noodle) at Lotteworld .. It taste pretty good too !

Ginseng

Yes , another must buy in Korea .. Famous in Korea as well .. but very expensive .. 1box is about SG1K .. We bought the powder form instead of the capsules and gave to our family members .

Snow

It's our first time and its so fun !!! the weather.. the flakes.. the snowball battle .. the beautiful scenery .. what else can we ask for ? I keep screaming and shouting .. fearing that I'll fall down or knock somebody else down .. but the ski boots are so tight .. that's for the safety i guess ..

Face Shop

Yep .. another must go .. grab face and eye masks to thank my lovely ah nette and Ms Rainbow for lending me their sweaters and jackets .. not forgetting to give my love ones to try it out too !

Spa (no pictures taken)

Decksan spa castle .. a luxurious place to be .. with indoor and outdoor theme park . We tried the doc fish therapy for just $7 and its for the whole body .. not just the legs ! We ran from indoor to the outdoor in search for the fish therapy .. an unforgettable experience ..

2009 - 1st squabble

can anyone enlighten me .. if there is anything wrong with me on the following :

hubby and 1 are having supper at about 12am .. with a friend of his "A".
just some background info : they like to play psp together .
on this sat night , "A" was thinking of meeting with his other friends .
but hubby suggested that if "A" not going out with his friends , why not they go play psp ?

thinking that this is a great idea , "A" agreed and suggested going to Yishun Dam to play ..

As for me , i tried hinting to them to play in our home instead . but non of them reacted to my idea .

Then it was all set and while hubby was driving me back .. it seems that he was literally stepping on the accelerator.. i think he can't wait to send me home .
being annoyed i said "don't gan cheong , "A" will wait for you!" but he claims that he didn't accelerate ..

i felt really annoyed .. i don't understand why they had to go to Yishun to play instead of playing at home ?? feeling fed up .. we exchanged afew words .. racking up the past etc ..

it's even worst when he said that i too did the same , going out till late and even sending a male colleague back home first .. but that is different , we were working !

is it wrong for a wife to
- voice out her unhappiness on them going out to somewhere else ?
- think that her hubby didn't even consult her first before he makes the proposal to his friend ?
- be unhappy because her hubby is going out in the wee hours to play psp ?

i feel that in all circumstances : whatever he did is right , and whatever i did are wrong !
I am not happy about it . I can feel grudge is building up in me .. i can't expect him to cancel this appointment .. what would "A" think of hubby / or me ?

So all i did was to let him go .. even though i had voiced out my unhappiness ..
but i told him , don't ever say this sentence to me : "I'll listen to you as you are my wife"..
