Wy said this Minnie look more cute and nice for Janine compared to ABC and Your 1st birthday.... hmmm... I guess the decision is final :)

Janine is turning 1 soon!

Janine aka Guni, is a new nick mil gave her. Reason? Because she is very fair, as fair as milk... and it's rather difficult for her to pronouce the name Je-nin.. she said Gu-ni sounds easier. :P

Some updates on her developments...

She freely expresses emotion and recognizes when others display emotion. She has developed a preference for certain people and is fearful of strangers and being left alone, but loves company when surrounded by familiar people especially little children or kids. She is wary around strangers and prefers to be close to wy or myself, so introduce new people gradually is a MUST and we have to make sure either one of us stay close by. She uses parents to defend herself if she feels her rights have been violated, she will cling on to us tightly and hide her face at times too. Negativism is more apparent, with her displaying displeasure, protest, and anger more frequently. On the up side, she gives affection generously and her sense of humor is more developed. She is developing a strong sense of self and wants to be more independent, feeding herself by holding her bottles without wanting help from others and making decisions, such as refusing to eat/drink by waving her hands to you when she feels that she has enough or she will kick her legs vigoursly if she doesn't want to take a nap.

Her vocalizing more closely imitates the sounds of real speech. She knows how to express herself and her emotions through language and practices the words she already knows with for eg. pa-pa. She may use up to eight words with meaning but don’t expect his pronunciation to be perfect because there are still many vowels and consonants that she won’t master until she is around 3 years old. She remembers people names, and follows conversations, and will often try to speak in the gaps of people’s conversations. She can link objects together that have commonality, such as animals, or things that fly. She responds to instructions and can make you understand what she wants. The predominant learning method is to still to tell her a word and then show him the object, like pointing to a dog and saying, “Show me the dog” but he will soon recognize the word just by hearing it. She will find her pacifier aka tu-tu, when we ask for it. She will fetch me her pampers aka diaper when she feels that she needs a change. She understands the meaning of keep your stuff too...

She may have begun to walk with support and attemp to stand unsupported but she still prefers crawling and is more confident doing so. As she is now mobile and wants to move around, she will usually perform a combination of walking, cruising and crawling. She walks when supported and may even run and climb with support. She is able to do several things at once while walking, such as holding a toy, waving, and bending over. She can sit down gracefully and may be able to lower himself onto a small chair.

She loves to choose what she wants too. We brought her to the Metro Sales at Expo over the weekend, I gave her a few tops for her selection and she choose Winnie the Pooh ($6) instead of other disney charactors.

I also bought 2 sets of apparels at $5 each and a toy at $6.

I consider these a GOOD buy!

Another busy weekend indeed..

My 1st time celebrating Mother's Day as a MUM - Yeah!!!

Attended a few celebrations... my mother and mother-in-law aside.....

I think you will probably get a shock if you were gathered by 30 infants, toddlers and kids if you are not a parent yourself... Having them running/crying around you can freak you out instantly.
