Last Chapter or a New Beginning?

Today marks the last chapter of wy's job for the past six years. Should I say that this is the new beginning of his new venture? A big step he had made indeed. Moving on from a "steel rice bowl" to a dark place where nothing can be seen, some say.

Looking at the smile on his face this morning, I can tell that he is gald that it's time he should move on. Today seem like a totally different friday to me. Throughout the entire jounery from Boon Lay to Expo, I was praying quietly in my spirit.

Knowing that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. My soul rest assured in His hands

I was reminded by last week's message. There are 5 basic lines we need to cross in life

1. the line of the unknown.

2. the line of comfort.

3. the line of the impossible.

4. the line of possible affirmation.

5. the line of the pull of the world

The line of the unknown - Not knowing where we will ended up being. This new sales job is either going to bring us financial freedom or it's going to bind us with financial bondage. One word, it's either going to make us or break us. Moving on from a fixed salary, 9 to 5 job to a fully commission based, irregular hour sales job isn't going to be easy to start with. We do not know how, but we have to keep positive thoughts in the area of the unknown.

The line of comfort - Bye bye to living in our comfort zone. Everything have to be changed until wy's career reach a level of stability. Cutting cost at our daily expenses play a major role.

The line of impossible - Is it impossible for someone who has no sales background to be a full time sales agent? Nothing is impossible. According to the Murphy’s Law, you are what you are, you are who you'll become. For those who thinks in his heart, so is he. We don't believed that a person will die of hunger when he is hardworking and persevere through hardship. The key is "Never give up".

The line of possible affirmation - When everybody from the family and friends says "NO". You only need one word from God. Faith doesn't means you got to be foolish. A wise man activates faith, he does not follow blind faith. How do you measure faith? You are the only person who can measure your own faith. At times, you don't really need possible affirmation from others. You got to make that choice.

The line of the pull of the world - When situations and circumstances seem to be against you. By the month of June, things are madly running around. The Baby is coming, Car insurance is up, Road tax need to be renewed etc.

But we are grateful that we have been receiving gifts for Jia'en. Most of the necessity stuffs are covered. I will share more in the next session. As for now... choaz and be blessed!

Crazy English Language

1. There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger.
2. English muffins were not invented in England nor French Fries in France.
3. Sweetmeats are candies, while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.
4. Quicksand makes one sink slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guninea nor a pig.
5. Why is it that writers write, but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham?
6. If a vegetarian eats vegatables, what does a humanitarian eats?
7. Why do people recite at a play and play at a recital?
8. Why do we ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? Park on driveways and drive on parkways?
9. How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?
10. How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell another?
11. When the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

Growing up

Now that I am approaching the final stage of pregnancy — the third trimester — Jia'en is really starting to grow and fill the available space in my uterus. According to the web calender, she should be able to open and close her eyes, sleeps and wakes at regular intervals, and may suck a finger or thumb.

She now weighs between 900gm to 1.1kg.

Sweet dreams, little baby! Some experts believe that babies begin to dream by the 28th week. What do they dream about? No one knows for certain but the brain is active this week as well. The characteristic grooves on the brain's surface start to appear and more brain tissue develops.

See, she is saying bye bye to us before we end our session. So cute.

Freebies

Happy happy day! Today seems like Xmas day to me... received a couple of gifts. I feels like a birthday girl (heehee)...

Frist of all, I've got an additional stroller for Jia'en which I will put it in my in-law house. I also have an additional baby crib. Not forgetting one of the most important furniture, the child seat.

According to Singapore's Traffic Rules, you will get a ticket if you fail to secure your child with a child restraint.

Traffic Police would like to remind all motorists that if a rear seat belt is available for a child below 8 years of age and seated in the rear, that child must be secured with a child restraint.

The penalty for failing to comply is a $120/- fine and 3 demerit points for the driver.
Offenders may be charged in court.

*A first-time offender may be fined up to $1,000/- or jailed up to 3 months.
*Repeated offenders may be fined up to $2,000/- or jailed up to 6 months.

I also received gifts like my favourite City Mug from Starbuck Coffee... One of my colleague just came back from Vegas and bought one for me. So for those who travels, you know what to get me... hmm US mug, Sdy mug, Taiwan mug, India mug...etc Is there a Starbucks in India?

Got this cute little bathing gift set from a overseas colleague too... heehee...

No Entry to Flu Bugs

Down for 2 days due to fever and flu. Accompanied by cold sore on my upper lip and a big pimple right below my nostril. Somebody say "Ouch"... 痛死我了!

These few days were the most miserable days throughout my pregnency. Doctor suspected there is a infection, "oh no!" this is bad x3. Infection is a BIG no no for pregnant mummy, the virus might hurt the baby badly... this dragged me down...

A lesson learnt from this experience...

No matter what happened, never stress yourself. It's unhealthy for the baby. He will think nevgative thoughts when the mummy has -ve thoughts. Hence, no matter what, try to think positive ok.

Does positive thinking leads to building a life of faith? By walking with Him and experiencing Him in our daily lives. What does having faith means? Is it the God kind of faith? The faith that He has it Himself.

Faith trust, relies on, and expect every good thing from Him. Isn't this wonderful? Expect every GOOD THING from Him! I like this but before we come into this part we must first understand the equation of faith.

Faith =x= Loose Assumption
Faith =x= Generally Optimism

Faith = Something you reside in your heart that you know it will work for you
Faith = Conviction, It produces results
Faith = Active and it's not abstract, a life with works and demostrations

And the best part is, Faith unlocks Power!

Here are some Tips I have found. A-Z of natural pain relief - ideas to help you cope with pain and feel in control of your labour:
A -- ask for information: the more you know, the more relaxed you'll feel
B -- breathe rhythmically, and relax as you breathe out
C -- cuddle your partner or birth companion
D -- drink sips of water in between contractions
E -- eat carbohydrate-rich foods when you feel hungry
F -- fan yourself with a small electric fan
G -- groan and moan: making a noise is a great form of pain relief!
H -- hold your partner's hand
I -- imagine your baby moving down through your pelvis with every contraction
J -- joke with your partner and the midwife; keep things in perspective!
K -- kisses (from your partner, Mum, sister, friend)
L -- listen to music to help you relax
M -- move around to make yourself as comfortable as possible
N -- nestle down in a large pile of pillows or a huge bean bag
O -- open your pelvis as wide as possible to help your baby be born, eg: kneel on one leg with the other out to the side
P -- think positively: 'Each contraction brings me closer to the birth of my baby'
Q -- question what you don't understand; being frightened will make the pain worse
R -- rock your pelvis round and round and back and forwards with each contraction
S -- sigh out gently with every breath
T -- trust your body: you do know how to give birth!
U -- understand the treatment being offered; if you understand, you can cooperate and make things easier
V -- visit the toilet regularly; a full bladder will slow your labour
W -- walk around to ease aches and pains and bring on contractions
X -- more kisses!
Y -- yell, loud and long, and then try to get back into a good breathing pattern
Z -- zzzzzzz -- doze off in between contractions

Zzzz I love this!

Kelisa Baby

Took 1/2 day leave with wy yesterday. Went shopping for baby stuff. That includes stuff for our baby kelisa.

UR Rear Anti-Roll Bar needed to be fixed here.

Fender bar installaton...

According to wy, this is to further enhance the stability... which took me a while to understand. Boys....!

While waiting at the workshop, I bought the newpaper and guess what I have found. An interesting write-up about boys. Hahaha, I laughed till my jaws dropped.

Net Buzz... Men are like...

1. Men are like place mats. They only show up when there's food on the table.

2. Men are like mascara. They usually run at the first sign of emotion.

3. Men are like government bonds. They take so long to mature.

4. Men are like parking spots. The good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped.

5. Men are like lava lamps. Fun to look at, but not very bright.

6. Men are like bank accounts. Without a lot of money, they don't generate much interest.

7. Men are like high heels. They're easy to walk on once you get the hang of it.

8. Men are like curling irons. They're always hot and they're always in your hair.

9. Men are like miniskirts. If you're not careful, they'll creep up your legs.

Well, I believed this is only one side of the story from women. Let's give the guys a chance to tell their story. Gentlement, please add in your comments if you have something to add... (no offensive words though, we respect one another)

So, do you guys wanna hear from wy? A man's prespective on the time and effort they would spend on their cars... Below is his "say" on these installation. I find him rather cute. He took 110 min to put everything together.

Here it goes... enjoy...

No word can discribe the works of the UR anti-roll bar on my stock car. When you charge into corners, you can feel that your car is like "sticking" onto the ground and you can hardly feel it rolling to the sides. I was driving pregnant ping (I think that's me) around after the installation. She said that the car was very stable, except that her body was rolling from side to side. Just imagine at "the speed" where the G-force is able to pull/roll her heavy body from side to side and yet maintaining the stabililty of the car, the UR anti-roll bar has definety worth more than its cost. I think the next phase of my kelisa project will be the wheels, suspension system and sport seats. this is to further enhance the stability and human body roll. We also went down to Sin Ming to install our UR fender bar today. The effect can be felt immediately when braking. Even for someone who don't drive like ping (me again) said so. During hard braking, you can feel that the car do not "sink" forward that much anymore. I have fitted the full set of the UR bars for my car except for the room bar. I can say that the UR bars had indeed greatly strenghten the structure and stability of my "fish"....

I suggested that he should blog his projects up. He kept quiet... grinned at me hinting that I should help him with it. Am I asking for trouble?

Bathing Time

Sorry folks for not updating my blog, Wy has been either hogging the laptop else dragged me to watch him bathe our baby...

Hmm you must be wondering have I gave birth? Well beside Jia'en we also have another baby boy. We have have to bathe him almost twice a week, or at least once per week. Has been spending a lot sweat earned cash on him. Therefore we got to make sure he looks clean and presentable.

Our 9 month old baby. Clean and Shine!

Wy is working hard, trying to comb every concer.

Round inspection, I've called it.

Making sure it is clean everywhere.

And there goes our weekend. Hanging around with pails and buckets.

Everything was done, in 1 hour time and of cuz, 50¢ worth of clean & sparking water from HDB.

More to come, on the projects we have planned for him..

Thank God it's Friday!

I had a wonderful meeting last night. Met up with 2 new friends, Irene and Wai Cheng. They are very nice gals, both from the same industry, HR. I wonder why HR personnels has got such wonderful communication skills. I felt so easy and relax talking to them as though it wasn't the first we met. Communication - A Key to Life

Talk about Husband and Wife. I have read in the papers recently that most of the broken marriage begins with poor communication and lesser time spend together. Most of them would rather put their career first before everything, family, kids, friends etc..

I guess we should take time to understand the primarly purpose why God created MAN. We are created for fellowship, that is why Eve is brought into the picture. Fellowship can only be done through communication. So husbands, do talk to your wife more often and vice versa.

So back to my meeting last night. I've learnt about this interesting topic... "Problems"!

Now, who can tell me if there isn't anyone who is so carefree and always free from them?

Everybody is looking for answers to their problems. But most of the time we have overlooked them and focus too much on our problems. The answers are usually right in our hands.

It is our attitude that determines our answers to every problem we faced in life. We can usually turn the stumping block into our starting block. Every problem comes with an opportunity to rise up. Believe a not, you have the power of choice. Make a choice to think positive thoughts instead of focusing on the negative side.

Easy said than done. Are you willing to give it a shot? Well there isn't anything to lose, there really isn't anything anyway...yah?

Look at Jocelyn, I remembered last week she was sick. But now she is smiling so happily. Isn't she sweet? She had a performace last week she don't want to be missed. The MP is visiting her neighbourhood and she refused to let her sickness tire her down. What a strong WOMAN!

And now as you can see, she is back to her active stage. There are so much things we can learn from a kid these days.

How about this...

Her name is Bel. She was sick on Monday and wrote me an MSM... This is what she said...

"My name is Bel, I am very sick. I'm having diarrhea
almost everyday :( Luckily I got a good owner."

Hmm, I wonder how did Bel MSM me. Anyway, she still look as cute despite the diarrhea she had.

Well, I had my bad time too... My lower back is killing me. I have to drag myself to work today. Thank God for good medication.

Got weiyi to rub my back for me using this... seems good but he compliants that it's stinks... well, what to do? He promised to go through think and thin with me, now it's time to value his words...kekekek...

I think problems are meant to be solved. At times, sickness/diseases will cause you to strengthen your immune system. As for me, back aches are meant to allow weiyi to shower me with his love and care. Sounds great! But God, please heal my backache...

week 25

Wow wow wow... Finally 25 weeks has passed. Now little Jia'en's tiny eyebrows and eyelids are visible. Her lungs are filled with amniotic fluid and she has started to practise breathing movements. If I talk or sing, she can hear you. (M-I-C-K-E-Y Mouse, mickey mouse!)

By the end of my second trimester (week 27), she will have grown to about 15 inches/ 38cm from top to toe (10 inches/ 25.5 centimetres from crown to rump). Her skin is thin and fragile but her body is filling out and taking up more room in your uterus. She may also be developing a weakness for sweets. Taste buds are now forming, and, believe it or not, acquiring a sweet tooth is all part of it. (heehee..)

But poor me... my life has been totally changed. I've always been organised and clearheaded. Why did I suddenly become absent-minded when I got pregnant?

This is what I've found out from the web site and check this out...

"Forgetfulness during pregnancy is fairly common. It's not something you need to worry about and isn't a medical problem, though it may well have a physical cause. Several small-scale studies have suggested that the size of women's brains can alter during pregnancy. A study conducted by a University of Southern California psychologist found that women suffer from impaired cognitive function while pregnant, maintaining neither their short-term memories nor their concentration and ability to retain new information. However, another study on rats showed that mother rats were able to learn quicker and were better at problem-solving than virgin rats, so perhaps there are long-term advantages to becoming a mother!"

Hmm, in other words, my memory should recover and it should improve greatly after delivery. Thank God for that!

Not only did my memory fails me. I realised that I can't take too spicy stuff too. I had this wonderful Ba Cho Mee yesterday but I ended up having constipation :(

The culprits are the pressure of my growing uterus on my rectum, along with pregnancy hormones, which slow the transit of food through my digestive tract. And before you know it, some iron pills can make constipation worse. This is exactly what is happening to me!

To prevent constipation, mummy-to-be should drink more water (8 glasses daily) and lotz fruits.

Choose from the following:
• Mainly soluble fibre — apples, legumes, oats, pears and rye bread
• Mainly insoluble fibre — beans, fruit, green leafy vegetables, lentils and wholegrain cereals.
