Beware! This post has a lot of pictures and is super duper long......
With that being said, it was the best family vacation yet!
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Spring Break 2012
We flew out in the morning and were at the beach by that afternoon!
We had dinner and woke up early the next morning to hit the waves!
It was an all day affair.
Applied sunscreen 3 times and they still got sunburned!
Our view!
Oh Hans and his mad sand castle skills.
We walked over to the marina and found a great little Italian restaurant...we were even serenaded. Quite painful for the kids!
More beach and pool the next day, with a little shopping at the market in town.
Some amazing street tacos! Love, love, love!
Nacho corn....was pretty gross!
But the mango's on a stick ROCKED! I've since made them as a side dish for dinner! It's the best way to eat a mango for sure!
"Get that corn outta my face." - Nacho
All the boys got Mexican style poncho sweatshirts, Chloe got a bag/purse and I convinced Josie to get this sweet treasure! A frog purse...it's creepy and awesome all at the same time!
Amazing fajita's at this place....we hit it twice while we were there!
See the sweet X on Truman's temple....that is because his mom is a spaz at putting on sunscreen! Sorry Tru!
On our way through the marina one morning to catch our ride to the zip line adventure....there was a crocodile right at the water's edge. Crazy!
All suited up for the zip line adventure....14 of them! One was 400 yards long....1/4 of mile!
The guys that worked the zip line were hilarious....this guy is Pac Man!
Rock doing the "sexy" leg.....
After we had some nacho's, played in the water with kayaks and fed the little monkeys!
Next day we were back at the beach and pool!
On our last full day, we rented a little boat, snorkeled, hiked to a water fall, went to a secluded beach and ate at a restaurant you can only get to by boat!
Gray was so paranoid about getting burned....and he forgot about his feet....poor guy!
Tru had some kind of allergic reaction to something and his eyes and forehead got very swollen!
Our awesome captain made us ceviche from the fresh fish that we caught. He added avocado, onion, cilantro and lime, and served it on a tostada. It was amazing!
Josie was a little trooper...she started feeling sick, quickly threw up and then fell asleep for about 45 minutes in that position!
Hans and some of the kids swam over to the waterfall and slid down the rocks!
Josie and Chloe felt a little tired on the way up, so we rented a mule for $10...not bad for not having to hear them whine!
This was the restaurant where the boat dropped us off at the beach and then we walked along the hillside to get here. It was a little spot of paradise with really good food.
We ordered the house specialty, which was the octopus. Everyone tried it and I actually really liked it! The flavor was amazing! However, the kids appreciated the other food a little bit more....
You can see the pathway to the restaurant behind us.
The last day, we tried to get in as much pool and beach before our flight at 4:00.
It was a great time, now where should we explore next?
