1. To be a soldier?
I was eating my $2.50 McBreakfast when I heard a really special interview on air.
98.3 live interviewed 3 Israeli women soldiers and asked them about their army lives.
Host: So, when do you go into the army?
Soldier 1: After you graduate from high school, you'll enter army at age 18. I was very shock when I first enter. I guess every boy or girl will be shock when they first enter. But later, it just got better.
Host: So is there a difference in the training between the men and women?
Soldier 2: Well, it really depends on what course you are in. If you are in air-force, maybe your Basic training will be 6 months, but there is really not much difference between men and women. If you are in admin or first-aid, then you'll have a Basic training of 2-3 months. There's a little difference for men and women in low level training, where the boys will train longer.
Host: So what do you gain from your experience?
Soldier 3: You learn to be more independent. I guess it was really hard in the beginning. But now, I miss my times in army. You know you cannot 'cry to your mummy' anymore. Maybe on the phone. But it's different. You cannot really cry to your mummy now.
Well, I tot of being a soldier before. Because I think there's a lot of things that I will be able to learn inside army and not from outside. And I've always admired the bonds they had with their fellow recruits.
But the social world seems to tell me that my thoughts are a bit crazy. And looking at all my chocolates and comfortable 'smelly' pillow, I have second thoughts.
2. To be a father?
I always try to fathom the excruciating joy and excitement from a father's perspective.
But I can't. Well, of cuz. I'm not a man.
And maybe because of that, that's why I really wanna know!
A dimension of thoughts and feelings that I will never ever be able to comprehend.
On my bus ride home, I saw a family waiting at the road junction.
The father was carrying his new-born baby, and his wife was by his side. Perhaps the baby is only 1-month old, because he looks so small.
The father gently rocked his soundly-sleeping baby up and down. Then he brought his lips close to his baby and gave him a sweet kiss on his forehead. Then, he smiled and looked into the face of the baby. As if the kiss was not enough, he brought his baby up again and, this time, pushed his lips against his forehead. Unable to curb his love, he kissed him once again.
Before he knew it, the traffic lights turned green and his wife tugged him to move.
Above me, watching me;
Beside me, guiding me;
Below me, supporting me;
Evidence of You around me

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
This is my 3rd night sleeping at 2am this week.
I thought I would collapse under my pile of school work.
Let me write down my workload and you'll understand.
6/3 Social Psy Midterm test
9/3 Health Psy 10 pg Position Paper
9/3 Bio Psy Presentation
10/3 Stats Misterm test
10/3 Bio Psy 2500 words Term Paper
So I might sleep at 2am every night until next Tues comes.
Afterwhich, it'll be 1 workload per week.
BUT! The Lord is gracious.
He makes me awake during most lectures and tutorials.
He allows me to remember doing my QT during early morning bus rides.
He makes me punctual for every lecture this week! (Yeah! My goal!)
He lets me have energy and a clear mind when I'm studying, even till 2am.
And He bless me with a deep sleep throughout the night.
Thank you, Lord.
