Anything Goes today at Repeat Impressions!

Today - this will be a fun, fun challenge from Repeat Impressions.  We are challenge with "ANYTHING GOES"!  What fun!  This uses a beach technique that I demonstrated earlier this week.  I had so much fun - this is one of the cards made for that project.

The sentiment is from one of Repeat Impression's new Large Sentiment Sets.  The block stamp is one from the Solid Series called 2x2 with Round Corners.

We would like to see what you would do with the challenge. Remember - it can be a 3D project, a scrapbook page or card - let your imagination run wild!!  We look forward to seeing what you will do with the challenge.    You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do, your name will be entered twice (2x) for a random drawing for a really nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built for the complete guidelines and link your project there.

Sketch Challenge

Hello -- today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impression has challenged us with a sketch.  Here is the sketch:
and here is my card:
I love this image, the sentiment makes me giggle every time I see it.  I die cut the largest square of the Stitched Flip Die Set.  I colored the moose from A Moosage from Me, fussy cut him out and then stamped it again on the stitched square.  The cut out moose was pop dotted on top of the one stamped on the stitched square.

Color Challenge for Repeat Impressions

Aren't color challenges fun?  This week Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions gave us these colors to challenge us.
I made a couple of projects. The first one was sort of a mistake (wrong colors), but it was fun and will briefly detail.

This was a treat sack.  I used some washy tape and the stamps called Shamrock Silhouette and St. Patricks sentiment.  The shamrock was layered on top of one of the die from the Fancy Flip Die Set.  Ok, now on to the REAL card for the challenge.

On this card - which meets the colors in the challenge, I used one of the large Happy Cling Set with some scrap paper and a little piece of cork and a few sequins (a new addiction).

What would you do with this color challenge.  Remember - it can be a 3D project, a scrapbook page or card - let your imagination run wild!!  We would like to see what you would do with the challenge.    You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do, your name will be entered twice (2x) for a random drawing for a really nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built for the complete guidelines and link your project there.

Quieting our Fears

Today is a bittersweet day for me.  This will be my last post for Classy Cards 'n Such.  Beverly, the owner is retiring and God has some new adventures in store for her.  I have so enjoyed serving as a Design Team member.  She has been so very gracious (especially when I was running late on my projects!) and generous with the Design Team.

Here is my card for today.
I used some of my favorite paper (which I have hoarded) from Heartfelt Creations but let go of for this special occasion. The Stamp is from Sweet 'n Sassy's God Is Stamp Collection -- also my favorite.  The centers of the blossoms have Art Institute Adhesive and Pumice Stone Distress Glitter.  The birdie has Wink of Stella on his wings.

Be sure to check out the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store.  There are some FANTASTIC bargins on supplies, stamps, and dies from many great companies.

Thank for looking at my card.  Blessings to you Beverly and all you have done to make our hobby fun and enjoyable.

What If Wednesday

Good Morning!  Today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions has challenged us with a sketch.  Here it is:
So the card I made has an action wobbler on it.  The little chicken wobbles when you touch it.
I used the Stitching Flip Die Set for the rectangle and the square.  The little chick is called Just Hatched.  I just think he is adorable.  I outlined the stitched square with a white pen so that the stitches would show up.

Now it's your turn.

Project of the Week

Good Morning!  This week it's my turn to do a Project of the Week for Repeat Impressions.  I've been fascinated with water coloring -- it's all new to me -- but I'm giving it a whirl.  Here are a few things that have helped me to get started.
Supplies don't have to be expensive.
3 sizes of paintbrushes:
large flat to cover water coloring card stock
medium flat for dropping color onto card stock
   small pointed for coloring objects
small, thin cutting board for taping card stock onto
washi tape

A compartmentalized plastic container makes it easy to rinse brushes without having a large container on my desk that is easy to tip over.  I use each section to rinse a color.

Here I have taped a piece of card stock onto the board.  I use washi tape that has a definite design or line so that it is easy to make a small even border on all 4 sides.  It's now easy to move when I want to dry with a heat gun or to put up to let it dry naturally.

I use a well palate and when I'm finished with a project, I allow the paint well to dry in the well and it's easy to reactivate with just a little water the next time I want to do a water color project.  Here are several type of well palates.
First thing I do is paint the card stock with an even coat of water and then drop color onto the wet card stock, letting the color run into each other.  Here is my finished card.
I used the sentiments from the new Hello Cling Sets.  The little butterfly is called Small Silhouette Butterfly.  The butterfly sits on a die cut square from the Fancy Flip Die Set.

I hope a couple of these ideas spur your imagination the next time you want to try a  watercolor project.

The base is a panel from some paper by Heartfelt Creations.  I stamped the sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy's God Is.  The little flower centers were covered with Art Institute Glue and then sprinkled with Pumice Stone Distress Glitter.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a happy stamping day!
