Home for the Holidays

Joy here today.  I wanted to show you a card I made using supplies found at the Classy Cards 'n Such on-line store.  This card is for this weeks challenge to make a Bright and Fun Card.
I used the die by Anna Griffin called Flourish Medallion for the base and inked the flourish while the die was still attached to the cardstock using a Mini-ink Blending Tool . The pretty flourish circle stamp is from the JustRite Stamp set called Old Friends(which is on sale).  The sentiment is from Noel Christmas Ornament stamp set by JustRite.  The Small Blooming Poinsettia die is made by Poppy Stamps.  I shaped 2 of the poinsettias using a Susan's Garden Tool Set.  This set has all the tools you will need to give your flowers great dimension.  I popped up the elements using Small Joy Foam Pads.

We would love to see what you do with this challenge.  Just go to Beverly's blog called Classy Cards 'n Such and look for all the details.

Thank you for looking at at my card.  Have a happy stamping day.

The Lord Knows

Good morning, Joy here with a card using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  I tried a new technique on this one and will try to explain what I did.
First I cut 3 branches out of green card stock from  Beach Sprig by Memory Box.  Then I strategically cut 3 more branches out of yellow card stock.  Then I fit the green branches into where the yellow branches were cut -- like a jigsaw puzzle.  This made the green branches lay flat into the yellow card stock.

Then I cut a Spellbinders frame called Nested Oval Medallion using paper from Kaiser Craft's The Lake House, then traced around the inside with a black pen.  I stamped the sentiment from Cast All Your Cares by Just Rite and popped up with Joy Foam Pads.   I punched out a few little flowers and shaped them on the tan mat from Susan's Garden Tool Kit using the little stylus (this kit is ON SALE!).  The flowers were scattered around and attached using Art Institute Clear Adhesive .  I used this adhesive because it has a tiny pinpoint metal tip that put the adhesive right where I needed it. Lastly little Clear Rock Candy buttons from Queen Company were put in the centers of the flowers.

Thanks for looking at y card, have a happy stamping day!

Thanks for Being You

Hi, Joy here today posting a thank you card that was made using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.   I always need Thank You cards and this was a quick one that will go into my stash so that it can be pulled out and addressed in no time.

The bottom half of the card was embossed using Anna Griffins embossing folder called Juliet Damask.  The sweet little scallop border is from Impression Obsession.  The round frame is from JustRite and called Old Friends.  Just a word about this stamp set --- IT'S ON SALE -- and one of the greatest sets ever.  It has 6 separate round frames (perfect for Spellbinders dies) and 6 separate fabulous sentiments.  They have an interlocking ribbed grid that I just press onto my clear stamping block and they stamp so clear and clean. The outer sentiment circle was popped up using the small Joy Foam Pads.  Hey -- pop by Classy Cards 'n Such and look what else is on sale!

Thanks for looking at my card. Have a HAPPY stamping day.

Classy Card 'n Such Ornament Challenge

Hi, Joy here today- thinking thoughts of Christmas and Christmas cards.  The Classy Cards 'n Such on line store is a great place to begin. It's also a great place to make a wish list - print it out and just leave the list in a conspicuous place - and act surprised on Christmas Day.

This card has an ornament that can be detached and put on a tree.  I  stamped 3 of the ornaments from the set called Noel Christmas Ornaments by JustRite on thick card stock and heat embossed one with Sparkle 'n Sprinkles  Black Detail Embossing Powder. They were then cut out and glued together them together making sure the colored one was on top. dated it on the back.  The little sentiment is also from this set.  There are many small sentiments in this set that fit into the rectangular space.

The larger Merry Christmas sentiment is from the set by Impression Obsession called Christmas Sentiments.  The pretty paper is from 6x6 pads French Country by Graphic 45 and The Twelve Days of Christmas by Graphic 45.  The light yellow paper was embossed with the embossing folder called Dots by Crafts Too.

This challenge would be a great opportunity to add to your Christmas card stash and perhaps you could be the winner of a great prize from Classy Cards 'n Such.   Just go to the Classy Cards 'n Such blog, see all the details. - get some inspiration and link your card.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a happy stamping day!

An afternoon with Anna Griffin for Classy Cards 'n Such

Good morning!  Joy here posting a card with supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  I am wild about Anna Griffin die cuts and embossing folders.  So I spent most of the afternoon making cards with supplies I found on the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store.  Here is one of them
The Anna Griffin embossing folder is called Cherry Blossoms.  The large yellow medallion is called Flourish Medallion.  Anna Griffin folders and die are so very well made and incredibly easy to work with.  The next layer is a stamp from JustRite called Kindness.  After fussy cutting it out, it was colored with a few copics and the Praying for you sentiment is from the set called Ornate Frame Sentiments by Our Daily Bread.  I used Large and Small Joy Foam Pads to pop up the elements and give them some dimension. The small ones are perfect for using on fine line die cuts.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a Happy stamping day.

Thinking of You with Classy Cards 'n Such

Hello, Joy here today with Classy Cards 'n Such.  I needed a quick card for a friend and put this one together for her.
The paper is from a 6x6 pad called Lady Rose from Kaisercraft.  The tag was die cut using the Spellbinders Die Set called Fancy Tags Two.  The Thinking of you sentiment is by JustRite and called Hugs & Kisses Sentiments and the ribbon is Eggshell Seam Binding by Hug Snug.  I'll tell you a secret - I stink at making bows - except for this seam binding!  It just seems to fall right and fold so neatly!  I just love it!  You can make this ribbon match any color by spritzing on a little color.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day.

Blueprints

Hi Joy here today.  I wanted to share with you a super neat die set called Blueprints 4 that I found in the online store at Classy Cards 'n Such. It consists of 9 pieces.   I am so excited about this set and the endless possibilities.  Here is what it looks like

I cut multiples of this die set using the beautiful  Christmas paper called Believe from Authentique and some red card stock and a few pieces of white.  Here is what the results were:

Then I played and played and played with the pieces -- this is an incredible set.  Here are a few of the combinations I came up with in about 2 minutes.  They are not glued down yet because I wanted to play some more before I adhered them to a card base.

The Blueprints 4 die set is going to make my Christmas card making so easy and my cards won't look mass produced.  Classy Cards 'n Such has several different Blueprints die sets  Here is one of my finished cards.
I used the stamp set by JustRite called Noel Christmas Ornaments.  The images were heat embossed using Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Gold Detail Embossing Powder.  The white pieces of card stock were popped up using Joy Foam Pads and the card was finished by tying some tiny Christmas bells to some gold sparkle twine.  I'll be posting other cards made using Blueprints Die Set 4 soon.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day.

Repeat Impressions Project of the Week

It's my turn at Repeat Impressions to do a Project of the Week.  I'm hoping to spur your creativity to find new ways to use borders with a few ideas.  Here is a card I made:
I felt like it needed something else so I cut and added a tiny red metallic border which I think made it look more complete.
This caused me think of ways to make borders for my cards and here are a few ways that might help you.

To make a gold or silver metallic border exactly match any metallic embossing you have on a card,

smear embossing ink on a small piece of card stock and heat emboss with gold or silver.  It is then easy to cut this into tiny strips and use them as borders on your card projects.

Another way to get creative with borders is to cut or punch a border out of vellum then emboss the border with your favorite embossing folders.  Here is an example:
I hope these few ideas will spur your creativity in finding new ways to use borders.

Thinking of You at Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, it's Joy today for Classy Cards 'n Such.  A few weeks ago I did a challenge card with sunflowers stamped on vellum and had a few of the sunflowers left over.  I just didn't have the heart to throw them away, so this is what I did with them.

First thing was to spray some yellow cardstock with a little glimmer mist and dry emboss with the Anna Griffin folder called Matelasse.  The flowers from the Just Rite Stamp set called Botanical Medallions & Banners have been stamped on vellum with versamark, heat embossed with Sparkle and Sprinkle's White Detail Embossing powder, colored with a few copics and fussy cut out.  The scalloped border is from My Favorite Things and called Blueprints 4.   The flower pieces were popped up with Joy Foam Pads on the card base and the stamped Thinking of You sentiment is from Hugs & Kisses Sentiments by JustRite.  Finally a few little clear stones were added.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day.

Quilted God Bless You

Joy today, showing you a quilt card made using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  This is one of two posts about using scraps of paper from my favorite paper pad called Lake House by Kaisercraft. here is a picture of a few of the scraps I'll use to make the card.
I just really love these papers and have not wanted to get rid of the small pieces.  Here is the card made from these scraps.
Small squares measuring 1.25 were lined up on the dark brown paper from the Lake House pad.  After lining up the squares it was embossed using the folder from Anna Griffin called Crowned Medallion.  The God Bless You sentiment from Hugs & Kisses by Just Rite was stamped on a die cut from Spellbinders called Vintage Labels Five.  It was popped up with Joy Foam Pads on top of the next size of die from the Vintage Labels Five Die Set.  It was hard to photograph the embossing on the prints, but it looks like a real quilt.  Those Anna Griffin Embossing Folders are amazing!

Off to see what else I can come up with that uses more scraps.  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day.

God Bless You from Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, Joy here today showing a card I made with supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  I have enjoyed using die cuts and putting them together like a puzzle.  For example:
I cut the flower from Poppy Stamps called Cecilia Flower Outline.  I cut one green flower outline to use as a base and cut a yellow and dark orange to fill in the green outline - just like a puzzle.  The sentiment is from a Our Daily Bread Stamp Set called Ornate Frame Sentiments that was stamped on a die cut from Spellbinders called Labels Eighteen.  The sentiment was popped up using Joy Foam Pads.  The little raindrops were added randomly.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a Happy stamping day.

Repeat Impressions Winter Challenge

Hi! Today Patti is a guest Designer for Repeat Impressions and she has challenged us to make a project with a winter theme.  So here goes:
The image is Snow Skating and the sentiment is actually cut from the stamp called Let It Snow Chorus Line.  The snowflake stamp is from Snowflakes.  I actually just used one of the snowflakes from this set.  I colored with copics, cut him out and popped up with foam dots.  The snowflakes were colored with a Wink of Stella pen and a little tiny sequin was glued in the centers.

Now it's your turn, show us your winter card -- and yours could be the randomly picked card and you would get a nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Just link it at The House That Stamps Built.
