Blue is 2!

Didn't I just have this little baby called Blueberry? I must have blinked because now I have this beautiful, smart and fun girl who is 2 years old. Being her mom is one of the most satisfying and fun things I could have ever done with my life. She cracks me up on a daily basis and I love spending time together with her. For her birthday this year Mark took the day off and we had a day of family fun. First she opened her presents- including a scooter (that she has gotten pretty good at riding) and an umbrella. (What is it with kids and umbrellas?) Then we went to the aquarium together. Here is the big birthday girl herself:

This was one of her favorite things- demonstrating how some reptile's vision is different or something. She just liked looking at us in crazy colors

Later in the day we went the Arctic Circle which we called the "King's Crown" (for all you Fancy Nancy fans out there)

Check out those pink cheeks! Playing hard

I didn't get one pic of Carli at the aquarium since she was sleeping the whole time! She was awake at the King's Crown though

Blue's friend Taylee met us at the King's Crown and so we got all the girls together. Carli doesn't know yet what a good friend she will have one day :)

My sweet little one

Does her head look a little detached or is it just me?

Blue's Cinderelly cake (Thanks Heather for the help and expertise!)

She has been in love with Cinderella and sings all the songs from the movie so it seemed appropriate for her birthday cake to eat Cinderella's dress. She says "they broke her dress!" all the time!

Even blew out the candles all by herself!

Happy Birthday to my BIG girl!

I have to emphasize the BIG because if she is acting silly and I ask if she is a ______ (baby, puppy, duck, whatever) she laughs and says "No." I ask what she is and she always responds "I'm a big girl!" Guess I have emphasized that a lot with a baby sister around...

New happenings

Blue and Mark at the boys BYU birthday party- they had so much fun jumping on the trampoline

I put Carli in the cart- it was funny, but I realized too late that might not have put good ideas into Blue's little mind...

She has learned how to undress herself so I am hard-pressed to keep clothes on this child now!

Blue spent some time with Dad in the basement while he was working down there the other day. She was digging in the dirt from where he busted up the concrete to do the plumbing and she got filthy! I went down to talk to Mark and asked what she was doing about 15 minutes after they went down and she said "Mom, go upstairs!" She must have thought I was going to make her stop!

Awww, sisterly love

With all the face-smooshing in between

Twirling in her ballerina skirt- she is always wearing it these days!

Getting such good head control!

And dog kisses from her sister.
One night I was putting Blue to bed and I asked her for one more kiss. She gave it to me and then asked me for one more kiss. I leaned in and got a wet lick up my face! Beats me where she picked this habit up. Goosing bums?- I know that came from watching Dad, but dog kissing? Who knows?

Blue loves to be at her sister's side!

We have been struggling with trying to find a new sleep pattern since she seems to be outgrowing her long afternoon nap. I tried going without a nap this day. Apparently she still needs one.

Blue's best friend Taylee- such cute girls :)

Ballerina skirt- always.

This is her "worried" face these days. When I ask for a smile this is usually what I get. Can you see a little mischievousness there?

Loving a berry slush

I parked my sewing machine on the kitchen table for a while to see if I could get any sewing done, and Blue got very interested in helping :)

HEY!

Helping me make some homemade pizza dough

This is how she spent part of general conference

And this too- playing beauty parlor during conference. If it didn't take so long to post videos I would post the one where she puts the bobby pin in between her lips before trying to stick it in my hair. Monkey see monkey do I guess?

I was exercising one morning and she decided to undress Carli.

Luckily Carli is such an easy-going baby (and Blue was very gentle)

Love those little smiles!

I was sweeping and mopping one day and Blue loves forts when I do that. Carli was fussing so I stuck her in there with sister. She was mesmerized!

Playing together

This time she coordinated for her ballerina skirt with a matching headband and a skirt for her doll. (Thanks Gigi!)

Don't ask me what that face is- you might have to click on it and see it big for the full effect

One of these days I will master the nap schedule. I am sure it will be just in time for it to change again :)
