I Love Bangkok!
DAY 1
Changi Airport is full of Angry Bird stuff, which my mum loves alot! ^^
Catching the sunset onboard Jetstar
Checking in after our pretty expensive maxi-cab ride from the airport
Here’s our apartment, a 2-bedded one with a half-kitchen and two big toilets. It’s Marriott @Empire Place, which is right smack in the middle of their CBD, and walking distance from BTS Chongnonsi station.
Lovely dinner on the first night at Sara Jane, a restaurant right next to our hotel. There was a very adorable waitress who is probably around my age, she was so entertained by the way we ate, took photos and spoke that she kept hanging around our table and smiling at us. Not creepy, but very cute somehow.
Shopping at City Viva’s supermarket on the first night for snacks and food to last us the entire trip :)
DAY 2
View from our balcony…i’ve no idea why it was so foggy haha
Here’s us at an iconic bridge. I thought it was just a suagu tourist thing to take photos here, but when we were at the airport departing for Singapore, this bridge was plastered all over the toilet lol so it’s probably some bkk icon! But well, walking past it everyday from my hotel to get to the BTS station makes it not so much of a big deal hahah.
Photos taken on the way to Platinum Mall! Bkk is really a city, Sg-like place! The transport system is great….just its more congested than sg if u travel by taxi, etc, so my family took the BTS everyday or got a maxi-cab service. These were better options for my family of 6 as the transportation was reliable and value for money!
Here are the stuff along the streets and our lunch at a food court! The average dish is about 40 THB, which is less than $2 SGD and i really love every single dish—pad thai, tomyum, omelette, fried rice… I especially love dessert cos there’s just such a great variety for you to mix and match! Many more pics of dessert coming up!
Dinner at a Chicken Rice road-side stall recommended by a Sgrean family friend who’s living in bkk. Pretty good stuff at a reasonable price. The pink dessert at the bottom was pink syrup + shaved ice + milk + bread pieces. My mum saw a random poster of it on the restaurant wall and just told the lady to give us 2 of it but a few of us didnt like it cos the bread was kinda weird. heh but i super love this dessert! Its like how you have bread dipped in milo…this is bread dipped in bandung! Just a tad sweeter though hhahaa.
Walking back to the BTS station with lotsa stuff…haha we really went crazy on the first day of shopping. More photos were taken in the next few days as we took our time to soak in the sights, instead of merely just shopping shopping shopping heh. But well, no matter where we had spent the next 3 days, we’d always be returning to the siam/platinum area to shop anyway!
To be continued….
