Our Family Christmas Pictures

Moving time!

As many of you know, we are getting ready to move our stuff out of our apartment this weekend. It has been really chaotic to pack up and still take care of the kids. I'll be happy when it's all over. It's funny because as I've looked at these pictures, the kids are in their p-jays in every one. Phil has asked me a couple of times why Kaylin is still in her pajamas at 5 PM when he gets home. Hey, when you have no where to go and no one to impress, who cares, right?
Kaylin enjoys playing in the entertainment center now that it's empty. I actually got a pictures with her smiling! Yeah!
Our house in ruble... (The box that says ORECK actually is a Christmas present from my parents. It is the best vacuum ever. 8 lbs. of pure clean fun! Thanks mom and dad)
Doing her "pretty nails." Everything is pretty to Kaylin, for example fixing her hair is "doing pretty hairs" or anything that goes in her hair like an elastic is a "pretty hair." When she wants to paint her nails she says "paint pretty nails." She is such a girl!

More pictures...

So cute with auntie Em...
At the entrance of Disneyland on our last night...Zachary was asleep in the stroller.
Ok, funny story. The whole time we were at the park Phil kept saying that he wanted a churro. They were $3 and hardly worth it, but hey he wanted one. He must've said that he wanted one at least 10 times and finally the last hour or so we were there, he got his wish. Yum CHURRRRRRRRRRRO

Our Disneyland Trip

Over Thanksgiving, we went to the "happiest place on earth"--Disneyland! Phil's sister Emilee came with us and we all had a blast. It was so much fun to take Kaylin on all the rides and to see her expressions. Of all the rides, she loved the TEACUPS the best! Phil went on it twice with her and looked like he was going to throw up each time! She also loved the Dumbo ride and meeting Cinderella and Flick from "A bug's life." Here are some pictures...

Happy Halloween!

Our little Sacramento King's cheerleader! Kaylin loved her little outfit and pom-poms. She had so much fun trick-or-treating. She would tell me to "wait right here, k mama?" and she would go up to the door and say "trick or treat" and then say "thank you so much!" People loved her! How could you not, right? The really sad thing is that she has to start this pretty strict diet because of her intestinal problems and we have to cut out all desserts, sugars, white pasta/bread/rice etc. out of her diet. Yesterday, we let her have 2 pieces of candy and then we gave the rest to Aunt Melanie. Hopefully she won't remember.

Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

There is a cute little pumpkin farm about 30 minutes from our house that opens every fall. They have a little animal petting zoo that Kaylin loves. They also have a hay ride where they take you out to pick your own pumpkin. Kaylin picked this little pumpkin and carried it all the way back to the tractor.

This is Kaylin at the petting zoo. She really enjoyed petting all the little goats and lambs. She also got to feed them too.

RENO or Bust!

It's official! We're moving to Reno, Nevada at the end of December. Phil just accepted a job at the JCPenney Logistics Center there. He will be a logistics manager where he will be assigned to a department and head up a team of 10-40 employees. The logistic center handles all the catalog and Internet orders so his hours are Mon-Friday and no weekends/holidays which is a plus. We are both really excited to be moving to Reno and are in the process of looking for apartments. We are going to rent for at least 6 months and then see about buying a home. I just can't believe that after 5 years of going to school that we finally are done! Phil is already talking about how close we will be to Lake Tahoe and how he'd like to take up skiing. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep Phil focused on actually finishing school. It's pretty difficult to focus when you already have a job.

Zachary's Baby Blessing

On Sunday, we had the opportunity to bless little Zachary. It was a beautiful blessing performed by his daddy. Since we couldn't tape the blessing, I spent the whole time frantically writing down what Phil was saying. It was really nice to have all of Phil's immediate family attend the blessing. After church, we had a family "Thanksgiving" dinner (Turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie) at the Walker's home and it was wonderful. I'm sad that none of my family was there, but it's so hard when you live so far away. Maybe next blessing we'll be closer. Here are some family pictures taken yesterday. It was so hard to get everyone looking into the camera!

A victory for mom

Kaylin is potty-trained! For about a week and a half we've been potty-training and I have to say it's been going really well. Kaylin hasn't had an accident since last Wednesday and she's stayed dry for naps! She also loves her big girl "panties" with Pretty Belle and Cinderella. She also loves the little after dinner mints that she gets for going potty. She still is in a diaper at night, but hopefully we'll get rid of that one soon. I just am happy and feel a sense of accomplishment for sticking with it and doing it. Point, mommy!

Sunday, A day of rest?

Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, right? I guess that phrase doesn't quite apply when you have 2 kids. We have afternoon church that starts at 1:00 pm and you would think that we could get there on-time, but the last few weeks have been a struggle. Today I was determined to get there on-time. So, I packed all the diaper bags (1 for each child), got out the sippy cups, snacks, toys, etc. and got those all ready to go. Then I put Kaylin down for a nap at 11:15 am so that she would have a nice hour and a half nap. The problem with napping before church is that Kaylin sweats while she sleeps so we can't dress her or fix her hair before nap time or else she's all wet and clammy, so we have to do it after her nap. See the problem? So I wake Kaylin up at about 12:35 pm and had Phil get her dressed. It takes at least 10 minutes because she is all whinny and groggy. Then Phil feeds her a light lunch. Meanwhile, I get Zachary up from his nap and change him into his cute "show and tell church outfit" which can't be worn until just before church in case he needs decides to poop/spit up all over it. Then Zachary decides, "Hey I'm awake, where's the milk?" Since I'm such an obliging mom, I feed him. By this time it's 12:50. I figure, "give him a quick little snack to tide him over and then hurry in the car." By the time kids were in the car, diaper bags, Phil's briefcase and us, it read 1:00 pm on the dashboard. I guess I shouldn't complain because church is only 5 minutes away, but then once you get there, you have to unload everyone.

So we get into church and this family keeps on stealing our row. I know, I know, there are no labels or assigned seating at church, but it sure makes it easier to have a specific row, especially when you are running late. You don't have to stand in the back and scan the rows for an unlucky family who has to be stuck with you and your kids. And while I'm at it, what's up with everyone sitting at the end of the row. It's so aggravating when you are trying to scoot in a row and you have to jump over this lady that will never have to get up in the middle of the meeting. Meanwhile, you have to jump and trip over her the 4 or 5 times you have to go out because Baby's fussing or Kaylin has to go potty. OK, back to my original train of thought...so we are in sacrament meeting and get settled down for about 5 minutes. Zachary starts crying during the sacrament, so I get out of the row (tripping over the lady in the process) and join the other 3 foyer-families. I get to take the sacrament while Zachary is crying and then whisk him off to the mothers lounge, where I caught about 10 minutes of the meeting. Phil knocks on the door and gives Kaylin to me because she's "being naughty" and goes back into the meeting to enjoy the peace while I have two kids in the mother's lounge. Finally I got Zachary to sleep and made it back just in time for the closing hymn.

I won't bore you with the going in and out through Sunday school and Relief Society, but suffice it to say, today has not been the greatest day of rest ever. Maybe next Sunday will be better. Wish me luck!

This is Zachary today in his cute church outfit..thanks to Pick for the shirt. Phil just told me that he looks like a giant plaid marshmallow, but I think he's adorable! Doesn't he look like a Gollaher?

GO BYU! (Thanks Ann-Marie for this outfit...the clothes you gave me are a life-saver. Let me know if you want any cute dresses and I'll send them your way!)

Our chunky boy!

This week Zachary turned 7 weeks! On Monday (8/10) we weighed him and he was 13 lbs 14 oz at 6 weeks! The nurses at the doctor's office were all stunned at how chunky he was. I think that Kaylin weighed that at 3 or 4 months! He definitely is getting enough milk! He also started to really smile this week. I think that he is looking like my side of the family. When he smiles he looks like his Grandpa Gollaher. He sure is a cutie.
Kaylin is loving being a big sister, although lately she is little miss attitude. She has been telling us to "stay, ok?" or "don't touch, ok?" The OK follows every command she gives us. She also has been saying "Oh gosh" and "Oh man" when she gets frustrated. I guess that we'll have to watch what we say a little more carefully because she is a sponge for vocabulary!

Look at that cute smile!

Our trip to Utah

This weekend we made the trek out to Utah to visit family. The drive with two kids was surprisingly ok and we got there in less than 12 hours (The drive home only took 10 1/2 hours). We stayed with my sister Heather and her husband Jay (featured above). We got to see my sister Kristin and family and my sister Janessa and her husband Jordan. We mainly visited family and had lots of barbeque's. It was so nice to see everyone.

On Monday, Phil went with Jay and Stephen to go Fourwheeling. Jay unfortunately got separated from the boys and his ATV died. Three hours later he was rescued by Stephen while Phil waited in the car. Even though Phil only got to ATV for an hour, he's decided that it's pretty cool and would like to own one one day. We'll see about that! :) While the boys were out being boys, we went to the park with the cousins. Here are some pictures from that day.

Zachary at 4 weeks old

Here are some more pictures of Zachary at 2-4 weeks old. At his 3 week check up, he weighed 11 lbs. 9 oz and was 23 1/2 inches long. It's so sad because he only got to wear his 0-3 month clothes for 3 weeks! He had a couple of outfits he never got to wear. Maybe the next child will get better use out of them.

Phil's work accident

Last week Phil was at work doing a floor (he works for his dad doing hardwood flooring) and cut his ring finger with a tablesaw. Apparently he was cutting a piece of wood when his glove caught the tablesaw and pulled his finger in. He quickly pulled it out, thus preventing it from chopping off his finger and others. He ended up getting 11 stiches and luckily it didn't do any nerve damage and did not hit the bone. Although he's in a lot of pain, he is so grateful to still have his finger and knows that it could have been worse! The thing that is hard is the fact that he started school this week (last semester at Chico state) and he can't really write. I told him that he better befriend someone in each class so that he can copy their notes.

The Coleman's come to visit

A week after Zachary was born, my sister Kristin called up and said that her family was planning a spontaneous road trip and wanted to come and see us in California. They drove out on Friday and stopped in Tahoe to hang out on a boat all day. They all were so sun burned from the boating trip, poor things! On Saturday, we went to IHOP for breakfast and hung out at the park and my in-laws pool. Stephen took Phil out that night because he said that since my mom had been here 2 weeks already, that Phil needed some "guy time." They went out to dinner and to see the "Bourne Ultimatum." Kristin and the rest of us watched Aladdin and Matilda at our house. It was really nice to have them all here! Here are some pictures from that week.

His shirt says "Tax Deduction" which will be a nice one this year!

Grandma and the grand kids. Kaylin always says "Cheese" but by the time you take the picture, she looks away. This is the best shot we got out of 4 pictures! Her hair also was so much cuter during the day, but we took this picture at the end of the day, so there you go.
