Homecoming 2011

Am I really this old......(And should it really take 4 hours to get one picture of two siblings looking like they lilke each other!)

This was before they had a choice and I could make them do what I wanted!
(how sweet is this, and kind of dangerous, what was I thinking!)

This is what it felt like trying to get them to take a picture together for Homecoming!!

(Haylee did pull this exact same face!)

This is what the Homecoming picture would have looked like if I had my way!

(AWWW so sweet, look he is holding her hand)

And this is what the Homecoming picture turned out like,

Nice to see not much has changed in 10 years!!

Homecoming

I really never thought the day would come when I would have two of my kids going to Homecoming!

I really don't usually feel this old, but after this week was over I was

EXHAUSTED!!!

Haylee was asked by a really cute boy named Tyson, he gave her a bunch of balloons that she had to pop in order to find out that she was being asked, and by whom... of course this was witnessed by our neighbor friends and it only took us about ten minutes to figure this out!!
My dad also witnessed the two cars coming to bring the balloons and at first thought they were doing a drug deal in Ronny's drive way, until he saw the balloons!
Hehehehe always the cop!!
Corbin asked Jazmine, a girl he works with at Little Ceasers, It went a little something like this....
Hey, do you want to go to Homecoming?
Always the Charmer!

This is Haylee and Tyson before the day date, she was very adamant about not getting her picture before the day date....

because..... that is not what you do MOM!!

This is Tyson picking Haylee up, how sweet is that!
~He brought her flowers!~
(Also witnessed by every neighbor and both sets of parents aunts, and cousins)
No pressure there!!!

So cute!!

And the only picture I got of Corbin!!

Both kids had tons of fun!!
Thanks to My lil sis Ashley for modifying an un modest dress and coming to do Haylee's hair, because I am inept at both sewing and hair!!
And a special thanks to my wonderful sister Denise who came down to take their Homecoming pictures,
because she was able to capture on film what I only dream of capturing!!

Blogging once a year is fine, Right?

So I could say that I'm just a little behind,

I could make excuses, and go on and on....
But the truth is, I am just a bad blogger!!!!

So here is a condensed version of our year...

in pictures!

(I really wish I knew how to make collages)

Warning these pictures are not in any sort of order, Read at your own risk!

We Went to family reunions in Wyoming

Fished, and was highly entertained by Phil's Mad Acrobatic skills!!

(Uncle Mark has proof!)

We went camping, on the 24th, also the busiest weekend of the summer.
With disastrous results!
(Grandma breaking arm, Bears in the campsite across from us, Broken radiator, popped tubes,
Broken fishing poles.... I could go on and on)

We bought a cool raft and I rowed everyone around the lake with my master rowing skills!
(If they wanted out, they had to swim for shore, notice Quincy and Easton trying to make an escape!)

We taught Tucker to swim!

We finished Corbin's Eagle project!

We went swimming at the Hot Pots in Meadow!

We swam until we were all wrinkly!

We roasted bags and bags of marshmallows and star bursts in 100 degree weather!

We turned 16!

We became a Cheerleader!
And Turned 15!

We Turned 11!

We did some mountain bike races!

and Road bike races!

We won some races!

We had an egg hunt in the rain!
(and had some fun with confetti eggs!)

We acquired a new member of the family!

We went hiking in St. Goerge to escape the cold dreary weather up north!

We won our very first Pine Wood Derby Race, with our terrific car that dad and Nate built, and mom broke the day before the race. Thank heavens for Gorilla Glue!!!

So there you have it folks, the Coombs Family year in review, the good the bad and the ugly!

RV Vacation: Day 1

For our vacation this year we decided to take a RV road trip to Arizona!
(I know what your thinking....Why oh why would you do that!)
Our trip started at 7:00 AM and then we drove, broke down, drove a little more, watched movies, the kids bickered, and bickered some more, parents bickered, luckily because we had Jill our English GPS navigation guide, we did not get lost!
Our first stop BEAVER UTAH
2 hours later we were back on the road!
After 11 hours on the road we finally arrived in Williams Arizona and the Canyon Motel and RV park.
Such a fun little park and town, I loved all of the pine trees, and nice cool weather!
We found a cool diner on Route 66 and ate dinner, walked around town then went back to the RV for a little snooze!

Dancing

Haylee put in tons of hours and her parents put in tons of money... and the end outcome was wonderful!!
Haylee had alot of fun dancing this year, I can feel the time is nearing when she will no longer want to take dancing so I am going to enjoy the coming year, take tons of pictures, then reluctantly hand over the duty of stage mom to my sister Ashley.
Tap... mine and Phils favorite... Haylee least favorite!
Cool pictures from Haylee's fireside

Her whole class.
Haylee was violently vomiting the day of class pictures
so this was all I got!

Haylee and Madi

Quincy and Haylee

Madi, Haylee and Raquel

Double digits (two months ago)

You are officially old, when your youngest hits the double digits mark!
No longer will they hold your hand in public!
Or, kiss you goodbye when you drop them off at school.
But they still need bedtime stories and hugs.
We love you Nate!
Nate and his new skateboard

Not the best picture, Corbin looks stoned, Haylee looks like she is in pain.
Nate actually looks great and unfortuantely you can see my
"limbo pole"
stretching from the dishwasher to the fridge.
This is because I refuse to spend $500 on a new dishwasher, just because the door doesn't work!

Happy Birthday Nate, I hope your have a wonderful magical year!

Cartoon Characters body found in families yard (Warning: graphic pictures)

And today in the Coombs News, a cartoon characters body was found in a families backyard. The body was discovered by the dad in the family, when he went to turn on the hose.

Dad: I was so shocked!!! Why would anyone do this? I looked down to see a small plastic boy with a long protruding nose, strapped to a Lincoln log with a elastic band.

News woman: Did you try any measures to revive this Character?

Dad: Well.... I started laughing and went in to get my wife so she could have a good laugh also.

News Woman: Ummm...... Do you feel good about laughing over the demise of a popular cartoon character?

Dad: Well it seemed to me that it was a little too late for anyone to help this character, as his body was already cold and hard. Had I got there just minutes before I could have saved this plastic figures life.

News woman: There you have it folks, in the little town of Payson the unthinkable has happened!
As to possible motives we think this cartoon character may have lied about cleaning his room! The scene of the crime

If anyone has any information on who this plastic figure might be, please contact the proper authorities.
