I'm Going to Try to Start This Up AGAIN!

It's been about 4 and 1/2 years since my last post. Boy how times have changed. We are all a little older now. We've grown. We've moved. We lost my mom and Ollie's Nana in March.

Again, I will try keeping up with this again!

The end of summer is upon us, time to get ready for school. Ollie will start a new school for Kindergarten this year just after Labor Day. They  offer "camp" during the vacation periods, but he was attending other camps this summer. When I called at the beginning of August to say I had not received a packet yet, his teacher told me that he was the only one in his class than had not been in camp (I guess it was her way of saying they forgot!). That was when I learned that they continued to have camp the last 2 weeks of August which was great for us since he really had nothing to do! It would give him a chance to meet some classmates, get used to his teacher and the new building. And so he started this new camp this week and he's been coming home filthy every day so far haha. In just about 2 weeks I will have a Kindergartener though! EEEK!

In other news, he's sick again. We are waiting for results back from Boston Children's on his biopsy from last month. Last year Boston and Dartmouth differed on pathology and thus could not agree on a diagnosis. This year I have already seen that Dartmouth once again confirms what their results said last year. Still waiting on Boston's results. This is so frustrating.

Since last I wrote, we have been to DisneyWorld twice and on a Disney cruise. We will head to Disney again in October and another cruise (this time to Alaska) next May...hopefully I will write again before that trip! Due to our trip in October, I already learned he will miss school pictures :( I know, what is more important, school pics or DisneyWorld? I'm just sad because it will be Kindergarten! I guess I will have to have our friend take some for us.

Meanwhile we continue to work on swimming (level 4 and he is still 4), soccer, and we just started karate. This year's birthday theme is Star Wars even though he has never seen it! He is in LOVE with R2D2...this Halloween's costume by the way! Mama's gonna make it. And must I say this kid is incredible with a set of Legos! He put together an R2D2 kit with over 2600 pieces, designed for ages 16 years and up, pretty much all on his own! Incredible.

Things I Remember He Says

Some funny things this kid says...I need to remember to write it down! But tonight it was a pee your pants moment, in more ways that one!

We were getting back in the car at the grocery store. On the floor he found some 3D glasses we got the last time we were at the Philly Zoo for one of their exhibits. He was putting them on and commenting on all the blue and red lights. Then he says, "hey mom, remember we got these at that zoo...you know the one where Nana had to go to the bathroom!" My mom and I started cracking up...OH YEH THAT ONE! Like that is the only zoo she has ever had to pee at! Keep em coming kid!

I'm still not very good about keeping up with this thing! I MUST get better!!!

Very excited for our trip in about 1 month to DisneyWorld for Christmas. Hopefully we will have a well behaved 4 yo tagging along with us (AHAHAHA, yes I know I'm delusional!). Since his teacher went on maternity leave at the beginning of the month, we've had some behavior issues in school. What we can be led to believe is that he doesn't like change. Repeat victims of his wrath include the gym teacher, his sub (very sure that he has her number!) and most of all the French teacher! OOOO do we not like French, he says it is BORING! It isn't the adjective I'd have used, but I couldn't deny him the truth ;) The boredom seems to be an ongoing theme, however, as yesterday he threw an eraser at his teacher. Sure it was while she was telling him to get off of the bookcase he was climbing, but he claims it is because he was BORED! Ahhh my sweet angel!

I am going to try (yes in addition to keeping up with this thing!) to write down the funny things he says. Someone told me to a few years ago and I never did! SLACKER! One of the things he has said in the past that I absolutely loved was when he was about 2, instead of "accident" he would call it an "aggasenth" <3 font="font">

Currently he comes up with the following (and don't try to correct him as he will be addemant that he is saying it right):

"be end" = the end
"dis-scrumptious" = scrumptious (though at first you'd think he was ready to say it was disgusting!

Will have to think of a few more he typically says but for now it is time for bed!

My baby is 4!

My little man is now 4! Where has the time gone? The morning of his birthday he woke up, he was a little sad. He said he didn't like being 4 and didn't like being 5, 6, 7, 8....aren't you supposed to not like your age only after you hit 21? Luckily he got over it pretty quickly. He got to open some presents that morning before school and we went to Friendly's after school for dinner and of course ice cream! We are there so much, they gave him a free half gallon of ice cream to take home!

This past Sunday was his party at Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a blast, mama was glad it wasn't at home so I didn't have to clean before and after, and I didn't have to cook! The place was so crowded and loud, but the kids didn't care obviously! Next weekend we have a party for one of his classmates, one of his few friends from school that he is always talking about! We had spent the weekend before at Sesame Place, just Ollie and mommy, celebrating his birthday. It was soooo crowded! I'd never seen it this crowded EVER! He did not mind one bit, we both had a nice time! He loves staying in hotels :) The first weekend in November we will celebrate with his Godparents since they couldn't make his party this year, something about having 4 kids and all 4 going in 4 different directions but only 2 parents, haha. I only have 1 and I can't keep stuff straight!

On the medical front, apparently Ollie's vest has been ordered, but I haven't heard anything as of yet. I may make some phone calls tomorrow to do some checking. We have his follow up appointment with Dr. Khatwa on Nov 6. I have a feeling he will take him off of his Bactrim at the time...if he does, I WANT that vest! We are going to spend the night before in Boston because it is such an early appointment, it will be fun for him and sleeping in for me will make me less grumpy :) The end of this week we also have his follow up sleep study to see if the tonsilectomy did its job regarding the apnea. I seriously believe it has made a difference, if the study shows otherwise, I'd be very surprised!

He's been enjoying swimming every day of the week, well, Monday-Thursday. Can't believe in less than a year how great he's doing! He goes of the diving board and the starting blocks in the deep end! AMAZING! So proud of him! Soccer this Fall was a bit of a disappointment simply because of the team he got put on...making 3-4 yos stand in a single file line and wait their turn = STUPID! Oh well, here's to next year! Hockey starts soon (1st weekend in November!). Hopefully he will let go of the crates this year!!!
