We call him, HAYSTACK
Labels:

We have had fun watching this little cottontail rabbit who lives outside our house. They are quiet common here and fun to spot in the yard. This one is little and seems to be a young one. We named him Haystack, he likes to sit there and be still and pretend that we can't see him.He seems to have a favorite hideout under the stairs out back. We often see him tucked under there in the shade trying to stay cool.
Our bunny Clover loves to hide under things. She isn't likely to run away, but she will burrow under just about anything to try and escape. Notice here, she could tell that someone else has been living under the stairs. Haystack, the wild bunny, is just on the other side of the stairs.
It was fun to watch how Clover suddenly turned into a hound dog and couldn't get enough sniffing of that bunny burrow. She was very interested in checking things out. She backed herself into that corner and wouldn't come out.
Since I took these pictures, we have discovered a smaller bunny who the girls think is Haystack's baby brother, we named him Cookie Dough. These little cotton tail bunnies make Clover look like a giant.

Our Easter afternoon in pictures.

What a sweet pair of girls. It is a blessing to be their mom and fill eggs for them and load their Easter baskets with treats.
Hunting for eggs. There are still 4 that haven't been found. Maybe Chuck will mow over them this afternoon when he cuts the grass. It is really fun to watch these girls interact with each other. They wanted to make sure that they each had a fair amount of eggs to find.
They don't get to dress a like much anymore. This year I found these skirts on sale at Land's End and we choose to use them for Easter. I like when they will really use their Easter outfits. I found t-shirts at Target to coordinate with the skirts.
I wanted to show this amazing Elm tree in our backyard. You can kind of tell how large it really is by clicking on the picture. The girls are at the base of it hunting for eggs.
Trying to find those last few eggs. Even with Chuck's help they are missing some. I love watching Chuck interact with the girls. He is such a good Daddy.
Time to bring Clover out for some Easter fun. A perfect day to have a bunny. It makes for some great pictures.
It is fun to have so many friends who have rabbits. I still have to think that ours is a beautiful bunny. I love her coloring. And she is as sweet as they come.
The girls love to take her picture with the colored eggs. She kind of wanted to hop away.
Hope your Easter afternoon is wonderful too.

...how does your garden grow?

We like to spend our time in the garden in the morning and evenings when it is shaded. The garden does get plenty of sun in the afternoon. I added the sun umbrella for the sand pit so the girls could play out here (plus, it looks cute).
I will apologize right up front for the excessive pictures on this post. I had such a hard time choosing which ones I wanted to use. I know, I know...less is more, but I thought more is more.

Our radishes came up first. And now that it has been a week and a few days...everything has come through the ground. Ohhh, so fun to check it out every morning to see what has grown bigger.
Out of respect for our lovely rabbit, we didn't plant tomatoes (the stems and leaves are toxic to bunnies). We do like to bring Clover out into the garden everyday and let her run around and get exercise.
You can see we added another bench (made by Chuck) and we brought in pine straw to line the paths around the boxes.
