HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER

Today is Heathers Birthday and I just wanted to tell her how much we all love her and how important she is in all of our lives. I know she is a little freaked out at being 30 this year but how can you argue with the fact that she looks great and is loved by so many people. Someday she will look back and say "those 30's were some of the best years of my life". WE LOVE YOU!

Lilliputian Daffodils

Ok, as mentioned in the post directly below this one, I have some beautiful daffodils sprouting in my front bed. Unfortunately they are teenie-tiny. Here is photographic evidence. Aren't they charming and full of spring cheer? (I know I know, I need to weed out the grass in my flower bed. Please don't judge. I'm hoping that it really will rain this weekend and soften the ground up for me a bit.) And here is a picture of my finger about 6 inches away from them. Don't be confused into thinking that it is a trick of perspective. They really are approximately the same size as my finger. Maybe its because my front flower bed doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight but for whatever reason they are itsy-bitsy. But I do love my wee little flowers and I am glad that I am able to make something grow. Yeah me!

A few Random Photos

Here are some shots from riding Riley's motorcycle down to Momma Lynn and Grandpa Brad's house on Grandpa Brad's birthday. Riley was really enjoying the nice warm weather.

And of course the fun didn't stop once we arrived.
Momma Lynn and Grandpa Brad were doing yard work so Riley got to play with a stray daffodil that had been broken off... Isn't this flower beautiful? I too have daffodil's in my yard but they are much, much smaller. I will have to take some pictures and post later. What a strange, but wonderful little boy I have.

Now, on to my next set of random pictures. My car... I was stopped at a stoplight the other day, and was rear-ended by the daughter of the mayor of that fine city. Yes that would be the city that I work in. And yes, she was a brand new 16 year old driver, which probably explains how she was behind me in the southbound turn lane, didn't see me there and tried to drive while my car was stationary in front of her. But don't worry. No injuries, very minor damage and I was by myself in the car, but still, now that it is over and done with, it was a rather exciting diversion. If I ever have to be in an accident, I would prefer it be like that one. Here is the damage that was done. Can I say I love having a camera in my phone for just such random occasions that arise?

This is the pretty pretty rental car her insurance provided while they fixed mine. Isn't it cute? It even seems like its glowing. (Really it is just glare from the sun, in case you weren't sure.) But her insurance being ultra efficient, I only got to drive it for a day before I got my car back. But that's okay. I'm glad my car is back and it didn't cost me anything to have it fixed. Let's give a cheer for not being at fault in accidents!

Riley-ism

Today is grandpa's birthday. This is a conversation between grandpa
and Riley.

Grandpa: how old am I?
Riley: I don't know.
Grandpa: I'm 56.
Riley: wow. You're getting old.

Riley-ism

Riley was riding his little electric motorcycle down at momma lynns. While making a wide turn he lightly bumped momma lynns car. I told him that if he doesn't think he can make a turn to stop, back up, and go forward again. I told him It's called a three point turn and something he will learn in drivers-ed. Reed told him that if he hits something he needs to leave a note and tell his insurance. Riley said "I don't have insurance. But the police didn't see..." where did he pick that up?

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

The best is yet to come!
