Lunch with the girls

So Hannah sent out a mass email to a bunch of our old friends from
high school to see if anyone was in town and wanted to do lunch. It
was so much fun to get together and catch up on everyone's life. I
miss my awesome friends and sometimes wish that we were all still
around and had an excuse like high school to see each other regularly.

The tooth fairy's gift

I am a few days late posting this but here is Riley finding the gold
dollar that the tooth fairy left.

It's gone! It's gone! It's really gone!

So it has finally happened! Riley had his shirt pulled up around his head, laughing and pretending that his muscles were too big to pull the shirt all the way down. Part of the shirt was in his mouth and when he pulled it out, it snagged on his loose tooth and out it popped! He was stunned at first, just staring at the tooth in his hand in surprise.
Then he got a little sad because he said that it hurt.
But now, he is very excited for the tooth-fairy to come and visit us tonight and for him to go to school and show all his friends his hole.

Riley-ism

Riley: guess what? I'm going to marry Emily.
Me: oh yeah? Why do you want to marry Emily?
Riley: Because she's my best friend.
Me: why is she your best friend?
Riley: because she chases me lots.
Me: you like to be chased huh?
Riley: yes. I love to run.
Me: well that's good.
Riley: she was wearing pink boots today and I told her I loved them.
Me: you love her pink boots huh?
Riley: yes because pink is a color in the rainbow and I love all the
colors of the rainbow.
Me: that's great honey.

Let it Snow!

Please note the huge pile of snow on the lid of our garbage can. That
is all from the huge storm that dumped on us just from today. Winter
is here!

Happy Christmas!

This is what happens when Riley is left unattended in the bathroom
with some dry erase markers. It says to everybody to everybody
December happy Christmas happy Christmas. Then he counted up the
number of e's in December and drew a Christmas tree.

Tis the season

Ok, so we are a little slow getting our tree up downstairs. Upstairs is decorated but the tree downstairs has been a project that I just haven't had the time or energy to face until today (even though Reed put the tree up for me several days ago.) Riley is helping untangle lights and he says wearing the lights this way makes him look like a mailman.

A New First

So... While flossing Rileys teeth tonight we discovered his first
loose tooth. It is right in front on the bottom. We will have to see
how long it takes to wiggle it's way out.

A fun surprise in the mail...

Riley got a really fun card from Grandma Jan today. He started singing a song about pirates. I think he made it up because the words were mostly "there's a pirate, a pirate, a pirate. La la la la." then he asked me why the fish were so big and why there were cannibals. I really didn't have an answer.

PRE THANKSGIVING ACTIVITES 2009

Adam and Rachel flew in on tuesday night, one coming from San Francisco and one coming from Washington D.C. By the time we got home everyone was pretty well exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. Wednesday everyone was up and ready to roll. We had an appointment with Memory Lane to have family pictures taken but before we went we all hung out at the house. Of course when you get this group together someone always comes up with something to do. Here we've got a game of "who can catch the most grapes in their mouths" going on. I think Rachel won but Riley gave her a run for the money.

Next we all got dressed in our argyle sweaters for picture. We had our pictures taken up Payson Canyon in the snow. I can't wait to see how they turned out.

Cool Dude.

After pictures we went to dinner at the Brick Oven in provo. It's so good to have everyone home. I love the holidays!

THANKSGIVING DAY 2009

On Thanksgiving Day the preparations for the long awaited feast were being finalized.......

the famous holiday puzzel was being put together in the living room.

Is dinner ready yet were starving?

The table is spread.

The feast begins

I can't believe I ate the whole thing....

Why do I always eat too much?

Exhausted

After dinner we went to the movie "The Fantastic Mr. Fox." Afterwards back home for more family time. Nothing tops off a great Thanksgiving feast like a rousing round of
"Button Button Whose Got The Button"

POST THANKSGIVING 2009

The next day we spent the day laying around and enjoying each others company. Rachel tried her hand at putting finger nails on Heather and Andrea.

Adam showed Riley how to draw faces and write your name on crackers in cheese.

Riley ate the crackers that Adam so artistically created.

Adam got tired of Riley eating his art work so he drew a picture of Riley being eaten by a shark

So then of course Riley had to draw a picture of Adam being eaten by a shark.....

Whose piture looks the best?

A lot of wrestling with his Uncles. This boy is in 7th heaven when he is with Adam, Casey and Bella.

Next up was a wild game of Turkey Bingo.

Mom had bought some great prizes. No expense was spared at the dollar store.

Adams favorite prize was the Silly String.

A direct hit!

What the heck................

However Riley favorite prize was a spider man punching bag.

Riley-ism

Riley: Kelby told me 3 times that she wanted me to play with her at
recess and then she didn't even chase me.
Me: geez, girls are so inconsistent.
Reed: welcome to life as a boy Riley.
Riley: it's a good life.

Annie's Bank Ball

Ok, so that is a weird title I will admit. This is the second year Andrea's bank held its annual Holiday Ball. Last year there were mostly bank employees and a few family members like us. But this year they did a better job advertising that it was open to the public so there was a little bit better turn out from people in the community. It was kind of fun to see younger people show up wearing what can only have been prom dresses they dug out of the closet. And then there were the couples who were so fancy with their footwork you had to guess they met on the BYU ballroom dance team in 1987. And then there were those, myself included, whose skill tops out at what they learned at Jr. High dances and pretty much flopped around like they were having seizures. But it was lots of fun and we got a couple of video shots with Reed's iphone. So I hope you enjoy!
First is Annie and Dad dancing. Aren't they great?

It was a really fun night. We boogied, we vogue-ed and yes, I even did the electric slide... sort of.

A fun little clip of family togetherness. This is the only shot I got of Reed dancing. Well, if swaying side to side can be considered dancing. Not that he doesn't have some serious moves if he wanted to bust them out, and yes I am talking about "the cabbage patch". But unfortunately, those escapades have yet to be captured on film. Much like the elusive Loch Ness Monster. But I will keep a camera close at hand because some day... oh yes. Some day... it will happen.

Next we have a few videos of Andrea and Casey out on the dance floor. Casey tells me he used to be quite the club hopper in his day. He's still got the moves.

And last, we will leave you with a lovely little clip of Andrea and Cassie doing the thriller dance.

Aren't we a fun family? Don't you wish life was like a musical so we could dance all the time?

Riley's first report card

I have been meaning to post this for forever. Actually about 2 weeks, or so. This is a copy of Rileys first report card. I was so excited to see that he was able to successfully pass off everything that his teacher tested him on. No real surprise there, but I was really happy to see that his behavior in class has been good. I am so proud of my little boy!

What a helper

This is Riley's idea of helping with the laundry.

Riley-ism

So I was out running errands today with Riley and boy was he in a
rotten mood. First he was whining because there wasn't any mail for
him. Then the bank forgot to give him a sucker and then he wanted a
drink from the gas station but he was crying and kicking the seat so I
told him that little boys who throw fits don't get treats and if he
doesn't knock it off I would send him to time out for the rest of the
day. So he quiets down but in his poutiest voice tells me that he is
going to put how I'm acting into a scrapbook and send it to Momma Lynn
so she can see how I'm treating him. It was so hard to keep a straight
face.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT

MEDUSA

THE SCARE CROW (with glow in the dark vampire teeth. I'm not sure how that fits in with the whole scare crow theme but Riley assured me that they were necessary so we just went with it.)

Gruesome twosome.

Now it was off to the church parking lot for "Trunk or Treat".

Headed to work

Trick or Treaters at the door.
