Mother's Day

For mother's day we all met over at Mom and Dad's for a BBQ. Here is a picture of Dad standing in front of the new grill he got for his birthday. Doesn't he look all spiffy and professional with his nice new equipment?
But guess who did the actual cooking? Riley was his usual rambunctious self, crawling over and under just about anything.

Riley wanted to fix his own burger. This is what he came up with.

If you can't tell, it's cheese, lettuce and cheetos. Fortunately we were able to convince him to put a hamburger on once they were finished. And what burger, or any food for that matter isn't made better by good, stringy cheese?

The food was delicious, and we ate... and ate...

and ate.

After dinner we just enjoyed being together.

And then of course, we had to eat again. Andrea made these incredible oreo cupcakes. They were really good. On the way back from Wendover for Andrea's birthday in March we talked on the ride home about opening up a cupcake store, so we have been trying different recipes to see what we like. This would definitely be one of them, all it needs is a little tweeking on the consistency of the cake and it will be perfect.
Of course Riley doesn't seem to mind. With all that sugar Riley was a maniac. Good thing Uncle Casey was there to help him burn some of it off.
After they were both worn out, they decided to go lay on the hammock and rest a little.
Riley wanted a blanket and so he got Momma Lynn's jacket for a while. He was very squirmy, trying to get in the perfect position. Grandma told Casey that he was a good sport and Riley immediately piped up. "I'm a good sport too! I'm good at basketball and baseball and soccer."It was a really nice day, we wish that everyone could have been there (Adam and Rachel this means you!)
As a parting gift, I give you the gift of dancing.

Dad's cherry tree

Dad's cherry tree is in full bloom. I'm sure not as spectacular as the cherry trees out in D.C. with you Rachel, especially since this is still a baby tree but I still thought you all might enjoy a picture.

Riley-ism

Riley introducing the stick he is holding to Momma: His name is Halur-hi-ya-hi. He's alergic so he needs to come inside and play. Um...okay?

Play-time

Riley built himself a house today in the basement. He was quite proud of the accomplishment. He did it all by himself. Mom just sat and watched and took pictures. Here are a few of him looking out from his house.
This window he is peeking out of doubled as a window, a clock whose time was 6:30, and a t.v. that was playing Tom and Jerry, all depending on when you asked him. Doubled? Tripled?
After he was done playing with his house he decided that he wanted to build a robot.
Here is the finished work. He said his name was jeeves-ree. A little abstract but still creative. :)
