Riley-ism

A few Riley-ism's from the last few days
*Conversation between momma and Riley today:
Momma: we're going to go to annie's tonight and guess what? You get to open some birthday presents!
Riley: my birthday is still here?!?

* On a bike ride to Momma Lynn's house
While riding his bike over a gravely part of the road
Riley: Ouch Ouch! It's breaking my motor
Later while riding it past a puddle
Riley: I think that's quicksand
And just a random quote while riding
Riley: I think all bad guys are named Jason (What the huh?!? I don't think he even knows anyone named Jason. Where did this come from?)

Riley-ism

Riley and I were in the grocery store today. While walking down the aisle I accidentally bumped our cart into someone else's. Riley, who was standing in the basket, says:
"Whoa! That was unexpected. Momma I didn't expect that bump."

Michael Bolton Loves Andrea

Ok, this seriously had to be Andrea's best birthday ever. Michael Bolton wished her a happy birthday while on stage! It was fantastic. But let me start at the beginning of our trip. We got to Wendover around 5pm and went immediately to the post office. We stayed there while dad closed up shop. Once the big semi came and picked up the outgoing mail we headed to the casino to check in and drop off our bags. We got all settled and dad then took us on a tour of Wendover, just so we could get aquainted with the little town. It was a short tour. We then went back to the hotel to eat and wait for the concert. And p.s. Mom and Dad are telling the truth about the cheesecake. Delicious. That and the mashed potatoes were, I thought, the best part of the buffet. When we got to the concert we waited about 15 minutes before it started. Michael Bolton came out and sang his first song. It was nice because it was a fairly intimate venue. Only about 1000 to maybe 1500 people. There were quite a few brazen hussies in the audience and every break in his singing was filled with 'I love you Michael' shouted from one side, only to hear 'I love you more' shouted from the other side. Michael Bolton actually laughed a few times it got so ridiculous. Andrea kept leaning over saying 'should I yell its my birthday?' The first song ended and he sat on a stool to do a little dialogue with the audience. At one point he starts talking about the next song he is going to sing and he said the nice thing with smaller venues is that it allows audience participation. I leaned over and said "Andrea now!" She yelled "its my birthday!" He replied "happy birthday what's your name?"
She yelled "Andrea!"
"Andrea?" he asked confirming.
At this point some lady a few rows down decides to yell out her name as well.
"What is it he asks again?"
Andrea and the other woman yell out their names at the same time.
"Aidrian?"
They both yell again.
"Angeleine?"
Again both Andrea and the other lady yell out.
He laughs and says, "This could go on all night. Happy birthday Andrea here is a song for all the people celebrating birthdays in the audience." Then he sang 'sitting on the dock at the bay' pretty cool huh?

Here's hoping your birthday is filled with magic.

Riley-ism

Conversation between Riley and Momma Lynn on a bike ride:
Riley: let's ride to see grandpa in wendover.
Momma Lynn: No. I don't know where to go.
Riley: Sure you do. Just go north.

Proof of Genius... it must run in the family

Ok. I know that Dad says every mother thinks their own child is the smartest and most wonderful kid that ever existed but I am offering some video-graphic evidence that Riley may just be the smartest kid in the world. :) Just kidding, but I am incredibly proud of the fact that he can read and is not yet four. And though we work with him, Reed and I can't reasonably take any credit for it. He is just a smartie. I know that I have told you guys about it before but I thought I would show you a video to prove it. I love you guys! Enjoy, and be proud. I know I am. P.S. You will probably have to mute the music on the side to hear the video.

I just can't leave her unattended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Afer mom's surgery on her hand I took her to Wendover with me. She took her sewing and crafts with her and spent the day in the Hotel Room relaxing, watching TV, reading or listening to books and sewing. Here she is in our room. The following week she stayed home and decided that she needed to defrost the freezer. She boiled some water to put in the freezer to speed up the defrosting time but when she went to take the boiling water off the stove she spilt the water all over her hand scalding it bad. The same hand she just had surgery on. Her hand is doing better now but it still looks pretty bad.
