MondayWith Saturday's events drawing too close for comfort, i find my week packed to the brim again. with social activities that smell of desperation on my part, for employment that is, monday was greeted with a frozen gyoza lunch + a dvd from one of my favourite baristas in town.
Weekendan amazing restful walk about the hood visiting exhibitions and leaving one early due to police interruptions (not intervention yo!) most parts were spent stuck to the screen watching the tv series glee. I highly recommend it for sexual/identity/college humor with tunes and choreography that you will find yourself unwittingly tapping your feet to.
Sunday knitting at the park was more fruitful than we had ever planned it to be. i find myself shrinking, increasingly, from contact, being drawn into the numerical goals that I have set for this saturday. The drizzle and cold didn't help, my gold jelly gladiators and forest green leggings didn't either. cured these over-focused-ever-busy-pair-of-hands with a house warming that involved a communal painting activity, shit ___s, peroni and under seasoned chicken skewers. very promptly saved by Mr Power & i, of course, as we whipped up a chilli-garlic-parsley-soy sauce-honey-apple cider vinegar-sesame oil-whateverelseisinthecupboardgoesin- dip. I am so glad that lovely house is falling back into place after that rather tragic brush with death.
Inside OutSomething rather silly happened to my bank account and i am currently living on a shoe string (or 'a rope' as my loved one has called it) and perhaps not so strangely by now for those who know me well, BigBrother is still watching. I found the amounts of money pouring into my account never adds up to the math that i do, the hours of work i have done don't seem to add up to as much as they are paying me for. to make this even more confusing to my non existent counting skills, my pay rate at uni has gone up at the end of semester? not at the start of year, nor at the end of financial year, but at the end of semester, they somehow decided to pay me more? all just enough to cover my bills and rent. like down to the cents ok.
i am not complaining at all, my head is thick like that and it takes such huge hints to show me that faith should be my middle name.
this year is coming to an end soon and i feel like i have come full circle from where i started the year at. a tad tired of emails asking for extensions as well as students talking back, but that rant does not deserve my brain room. so pray for success of the installation on Saturday, and pray that i will meet my benefactor soon, like tomorrow perhaps.
its the first year i am shopping for Xmas gifts for my family. Independence is sweet and my life smells like abundance.
