It is Sunday and I'm here to share two watercolors from last year.
This time they are of my dear friend Michele Furguson's cats. Unfortunately I've never met them but here is what she's told me about them;
“Calvin and Hobbes were a gift from me to Tom for his birthday! Litter-mates, found when I saw a Crayola written “free kittens” sign in my neighborhood. They were named for Tom’s favorite cartoon series, with us 18 years, had feline diabetes, and required shots of insulin twice daily to survive it. We really put off life for these guys ... but never would complain about it. They were lucky to have such loving parents, and we were well loved by them, and miss them each and every day.
After talking to Michele I adjusted the colors of 's eyes to be a bit greener but was really worried I'd ruin it by disturbing the paint too much.
I use Winsor Newtons Artists' (- Professional as they now are called )watercolors and Daniel Smith's extra fine watercolors. The paper I use is 140lb Arches rough or fine.
