im back from taiwan!!!
yeahhhhh..
it was overall a very very fun trip and we enjoyed ourselves totally!!
very very touching also, hahaa...
spent most of my time resizing and uploading the photos onto my multiply site. haaa.. it's taking so damn long.. 400 photos to date and tat's only HALF of what i have in my camera -_-
and now i shall begin blogging, hahhaha...
Taiwan-taipei 1st day! -Fridayour flight was at 505pm and at 330pm, we were still at his place waiting for the stupid mcdonald's delivery man to deliver our late lunch.
ate our cheeseburgers and off we cabbed to Changi airport.
service was really really good on Singapore Airlines, haaa..
the cabin crew even helped us to ZILIAN when he saw us trying to take a photo of ourselves with difficulty, hahaaa.. damn paiseh

weeeee..... :)
landed at taipei airport @ 945pm and it was raining rather heavily there.
we claimed our baggage and left for our hotel in a cab. It was damn expensive lor!
realised the meter on the cab jumped very quickly, haaa.. the cab fare was 1057NT which was around 50 SGDollars.
reached Wonstar Hotel which was at XiMenDing and checked into room 808 (HUAT ahh! :D)
washed up and went downstairs to explore around the vicinity after midnight, hehe..
we bought supper back and lots of snacks from their 24-h convenience stores =)
my 杂酱面 from a roadside stall and his beef-chicken 便当 from Yoshinoya..

cheap cheap niah, heee.. 30NT (1.50SGD) for my noodles but of cos nothing inside except for the noodles and sauce -_-
tasty thou! :)
2nd Day -Saturdaywoke very late in the day and we missed hotel's breakkie. ate our brunch and shopped around XiMenDing... It was weekends and the streets were crowded with MANY youngsters. we felt damn old walking along XiMenDing, haaa..anyway, the crowd is like Bugis' village kind.. haaa...

In the evening, we took Metro Taipei (MRT) to ShiLin Night Market.

i love taking their MRT cos it feels very much like home, keke..
Anyway, the commuters there were really 'disciplined'. They kept to the right on escalators, queued up to go into trains and they never pushed their way into the trains like here in singapore, haaa..
6 days over there is really good training for jayen and i, cos even when we were back in singapore, we automatically kept to the right on our escalators -_-
Alighted at JianTan station and we walked to ShiLin Night Market.
There were alot of pet shops around, hehe!

i love the 'teddy-bear' dogs!!!! haaa...damn cute!
bought a bling bling cap and he bought a leather wristband. We also bought alot of YUMMY food from the roadside stalls! hehe

went to the roadside and had our fill, keke.. and it was very lovely just sitting by the road sharing our food, haaa.. 8)
went back hotel before heading down to Luxy, a rather talked-about clubbing place in taipei.
@ Chung-hsiao East Rd.. Cover charge was NT900 for 2.
heee.. it was quite happening, haa..their bartenders not only knew how to mix drinks but also need to learn stunts one.. damn
pai tan, haa
the crowd was right and the music was really good, keke... but i cannot make it lar..
starting to feel sleepy after the jug of cranberry vodka (seemed like it's not their norm to order jugs there!) and we went off at 2am. SO EARLY!!!!

ended up in 7-eleven and bought MORE snacks!! yeah
Ate my 泡面 and he, his potato chips.. knocked off after tat. ZzzZZ....
3rd Day -Sundaymissed our hotel breakkie again, haaa...
and we went XiMenDing for our lunch :D
we had 卤肉饭 and some dishes :)
i tell u, it was DARNNNN GOOOOD!!!!!!
i get damn HIGH just eating the rice with the 卤汁, haaa...it's really really good, im not kidding u..
SLURP!

and ....jayen still half-awake -_-
took MRT to HouShanPi, WuFenPu and it was still drizzling..
jayen was feeling really sick cos of his flu and the rain was making it worse.
Alighted at HouShanPi station and bought cold aspirins for him.
i suggested going back hotel to rest cos he looked really unwell.. but he didnt wan to disappoint me cos we were at the shopping heaven-->WuFenPu.
he said he would be better after taking a short rest so he asked me to go shopping on my own while he sat at the side to wait for me.
*touched*
anyway, we went shopping on our own before meeting up again, hee..
he bought a few teeshirts and me, some clothes for myself and friends.
seems like they are out to TOK tourists.. keke.. but i still managed to bargain my way to some really nice clothes at a rather reasonable price, hehe...
stopped over at a dessert store and i bought 苦茶 for him.. dont care.. 良药苦口.. it's supposed to be good for his throat, while i happily sipped my sweet cold dessert, teeheehee..

we bought some food along the way...

...before continuing with MORE SHOPPING!!!

cam-whores!!!

afterwhich we walked and explored around until we unknowingly reached RaoHe Night Market!! wahhaha... we're damn good at losing our way and ending up at some nice place, keke...

we even caught FIREWORKS!!! wahahhaa...

didnt buy anything from RaoHe Night Market and we went on our way to explore the surrounding area, haaa..

took the train back to XiMenDing and bought midnight movie tickets :D
i almost slept during the movie, haaaa....
left the theatre at 115am and went around XiMenDing which was like a ghost town after midnight.. keke

went back hotel to look through our loot and watched HK drama till 4 plus before hitting the sack, keke...
Taipei Trip Day 4i had to come to terms with the fact that we're never gonna taste the hotel's breakfast for the whole trip cos we slept through the mornings every single day.. haaa
more so for him, since he's one night owl cos of his usual night shift working hours.
so he would be the one sleeping late watching HK drama serials on tv and me waking early to boil water, bump around etc -_-
set off to XiMenDing around noon (XiMenDing again u say, haaa.. cos the hotel we stayed in was located there) for our brunch as usual...
walked past an arcade (btw, there're lots of them around in taipei!) and jayen pulled me in to take photostickers!!!!
-_- he's damn
girl lor.. wahhahhahaha :D

but we had fun and really thought the photos were very well taken, haha..
see seee :D

decided to print a bigger A5 size one for safekeep and also made 2 keychains with the photostickers inside, hehe..
proceeded to Grill House for some pasta!

i lub my keychain!!! :p yeah!
we decided that it would be a 'no-shopping but to enjoy some scenic view' day, haaa..
so next on our itinerary was DanShui :)
it was located at the very north of Taipei and was the last stop of the MRT line.
on our way....

we reached!!!!! :D

the scenery was breathtaking!!!
(photos taken didnt do the place justice, man!)

we took tons of photos, enjoyed the breeze and played with kids there, haha...

trust me, it was really nice, haha..
even thou the sky looked gloomy, it's still so so beautiful..
it started drizzling and we went shopping nearby. we bought lots of souveniers for our family and friends, wahahhaa...
bought some cheap rings and a lovely bracelet, haha... too bad there's only one of such bracelets, or else i would have bought more to give as gifts, hmmm...

the sky darkened very quickly due to the setting sun and we walked past this very special pushcart (?) selling ice-cream, heeee...
jayen likes vanilla and me, chocolate.. so we mixed 2 flavours together, haa..
look, it's so tall!!!

it tastes like mcdonald's 50¢ cone, just that the latter is richer in flavour=)
from his pocket he drew out a heart-shaped box with a necklace in it :)

i asked him why on earth the kerokeroppi -_- and he said that was the only box with the word 'LOVE' on it -_-
haaaa.. but the cross is beautiful :)
thanks dear. the cross certainly reminds me of God's unchanging love for us and the growing love that exists between us :)
yeah.
haa..
ok
enough of mushy stuff.
next, we started wandering along the streets and duno how we ended up at LaoJie, keke...

the taiwanese really put in effort to do up their shops damn cute one okay...

cam-whores cam-whores!!

oei, u dont 想不开 lehh..

we then took the public bus #26 to Fisherman's Wharf aka. 渔人码头..

on da bus.. we were the only ones on board niah
we reached!!!!
YEAH!!! Lovers' Bridge

my camera's battery died on me (BEST lorr!) and i could only depend on jayen to take the nice pics.. instead, he took mostly videos -_-

we crossed over to the other side of the bridge to the wharf, lay down on the ground and enjoyed the peaceful night sky and gentle sea breeze.
wasnt long before we felt the urge to answer to nature's call, arghhh..
went in search for the toilets and after that, we came across this...
tabao-ed some crispy chicken and sat at their 24-hr convenience store for some drinks too..
the shop owner was one very nice uncle who chatted with us and even told us the timing for the last bus back to the MRT station.
so we caught the last bus at 1115pm and headed back to DanShui MRT station.
come to think of it, just the 2 of us wandering around and the place was really quite deserted especially on a weekday night.. it's rather scary, haaa..i dont know how we had the courage then.
anyway, we took the last train back to XiMenDing at midnight and guessed what we saw?

a man urinating at the MRT platform, WTF?!! YOUNG MAN lehhh, not some old
ah pek with bladder problems lor.
and his urine dripped all the way down to the first storey where the control station was... and the commuters, us included, just STARED in shock, haaa..
after he was done with his business, he could still nonchalantly walk into the train carriage, find a seat and sat down comfortably!
-_-
of cos, the station security wouldnt let him off but in the end, he was still able to go off scott-free after some verbal warning..
guess he was drunk already.. cos he's very well-dressed with a tie somemore -_-
hmmmmm...
reached XiMen around 12 plus, went back to the hotel for HK drama TV serials again and knocked off at 3plus in the morning.
Day 5 in Taipei ~Tuesday 12th June <--
Pay day, hehe!
no, the sunlight wasnt strong. we were just acting cool, haaa....
we decided that it would be a day of sightseeing and to 'finish off' wherever we've intended to go to in our itinerary since it was our second last day in Taipei.. anyway, jayen didnt like the idea of following to an itinerary, but still, there were places we wanted to explore and check out, like the CKC Memorial Hall, Taipei 101, Miramar Ferris wheel, JiuFen and the BeiTou Hotprings... SO MANY HOW TO GO TO ALL??? haha..
started our day having brunch at some back alley of XMD..

jayen ordered Beef-Mutton rice, which certainly looks more like 杂菜饭 to us. i had Meat ball tanghoon soup and it wasnt very tasty too. hmmmm....
never mind, it not costy either, haaa..

and we had FRIT juice!!!
wth..

fyi, spelling and gramatical errors like this are prevalent over there, keke....
sorry lar, i 职业病 again...
some photos of the place where our hotel was located..

tat's XiMen MRT station by the way :)
cineplexes...

ah dear is da best!

heee....
after our brunch, we took a cab over to 中正纪念堂 :D

wahhh....so magnificant!!!

chey, banner niah.. cheat our money -_-
no lar, it was under renovation, haaa.. so they hung the poster there instead.. but seriously, it looks almost real, haaaa... not until u walk to the side lar -_-
we reached!!!
YEAH

saw a class of kindergarten kids taking their graduation photo, SO CUTE!!!!

i miss my kids back at school..
yeah rite, i lied.haa
~tah-dah!
our favourite drink over at taiwan.. 葡萄C!
tastes like Grape-flavoured yakult! :D

did nothing but took photos, videos and bummed around, keke...

Next we took the train from there to Taipei Main Station (or is it CityHall?? i cant remember, haaa...)

reached 台湾新光三越

sat down to have a strawberry donut, heheee :)

Saw a couple taking their wedding photos! wahahhaa... just like kiyo&darren, weeewheeet!!!

jayen wanted very much to go up Taipei 101 observatory to have a bird's eye-view of taipei..

i was rather reluctant at first cos i felt it was a sure place to
Tok tourists like a 菜头, but then, ohhhh....look at the view, haaa.. we went up @ 6pm and stayed till around 8pm in order to capture both day's and night's views!!! clever hor, hehe....

weeeee.... and the best thing was, both my camera's and his camera phone's batt died on us
-_-
win liaooo
still managed to snap one or two photos lar..
this was Taipei 101 in the day, and at night:)

next we cabbed over to Miramar shopping centre cos i wanted to sit on the Ferris Wheel!!!!
110m at its highest point and measuring 70m in diameter, it's supposedly the second-largest ferris wheel in Asia =)

view from the top :)
weeeee.....
2 precious photos taken..
no more battery for more pictures, haha..
Our Last Day n Taipei!!woke up slightly earlier since it was the final day of the trip.
Still, we missed our hotel breaakie again, haaaa..
packed up and checked out of the hotel around 11 plus.
didnt have time to go elsewhere far cos we needed to get our ass back to the hotel at 3pm, take the transport to the airport to catch our flight back to sg @ 625pm.
had korean food at a restaurant and off we went for our last-minute shopping around XiMenDing.

we drinking 葡萄C again, wahahahhaaa...
Managed to get myself a bag and him, a pair of rugged jeans before heading back to hotel.
The hotel staff helped us to call for a 私家车 to chauffeur us to the airport.

i think the car was damn cool lor! hahhaa... with tinted windows and all, we really felt like superstars, hahhaa... but of cos, in exchange of NT1000 lar, duh..
:)
airport!! and one more extra bag, heh....

used up the last of our monies for a shared meal at Burger King's

back to singapore!!

yipeeeeeee....
the trip was just simply fantastic we didnt want to come back, hahaa..
and the memories
are just ..
so so wonderful...
