a teacher takes on alot of roles..

sometimes, a babysitter.
sometimes it would be a counsellor,
a disciplinarian,
a comedian... and the list goes on.

became a 'crime' investigator for my kids on friday -_-

isaiah complained to me that his 20-cent coin got stolen after it fell out of his pocket when he tripped over the stairs before recess time.
he claimed a boy from the next class saw a girl picked it up and ran off.

so i summoned the culprit from the next class over. Heard from her form teacher that she's one problem kid who's very disobedient and always lying to get her way out. hmm, but of cos, i need to get her side of the story.

she came, looking alittle apprehensive, when i was in class teaching math to the rest of my kids who were all seated quietly on the floor.
of cos, she denied taking the money when i asked her the first round. i told her there was a witness at the 'crime scene' and she still insisted that she was being accused.
i had no choice but to get the boy from the other class to come over. the girl started crying almost immediately..
my class kids turned quiet 'watching the show' -_- and my rachel screwed up her face,with a symphatic look, said, "teacher, isaiah is lying. i think the girl never steal."
kids hor.. haaa..are so easily fooled by tears lor -_-

anyway, the boy told me he saw the girl picked up the coin and put it into her pocket. He tried to run after her asking her to return it, but she managed to break loose from his pursuit.

i looked at her and she said, "but teacher, i got return him the money."

it's so clear that she had stolen the money due to the inconsistency of her statement.
first she said she didnt take the money. and now.. she said she actually had returned it..
hmm, so it was obvious she was lying..
case closed.
and she promised to return a 20-cent back to isaiah next week.

managed to teach my class kids after tat the consequences of stealing and that they should never take other people's belongings without permission.
my kids are quite honest lar.. primay 2 niah, wat u expect.. haha.. but some can really be quite mischievous..


like my rachel, as usual. haa..

this was her after a whole 20 minutes of bawling... haha..

her friend refused to let her to stand up and walk away from her seat and she started crying and throwing tantrums. Ended up being called a 'crybaby' by some of her classmates.
i certainly do not encourage name-calling among the kids, but i found it very amusing how she can be so damn stubborn and cry over the slightest things -_-

so i made her sit by the radio which was playing classical music and count the library books after school.
haaa...hopefully tat would tame her abit..

cry until like tat.. whole face wet -_- haaa..


no matter how tough kids can be..
at the end of the day, it just makes me love them more, haha..

had our school's yearly musical, "The Sound of Music" held @ the Victoria Theatre on tuesday..
Duties were delegated to the teachers and as expected, only those VAIN ones among us were handpicked to do the make up for the performers, wahahaha...

and then... we got alittle bit freer and started slacking...

after tat, we had our packed dinner at the backstage..

performance wasnt as fantastic.. but i think the kids deserve some applause..

it's one of those days when i feel REALLY REALLY bored in class and want to have some fun with the kids..
hehe..

read them a nice storybook, "Buzzy's Big Beach Book, and decided to do something apart from the usual routine of boring stuff, keke..

gave them papers to make their own little comic books, haaa..

of cos, i did a teacher's demo..

Buzzy, by the way, is an innocent baby donkey who went with his dad and met alot of friends at the beach.


my kids were all seated at their desks, quietly working on theirs.


most of them did a great job drawing and writing the story... until our dear rachel ran over to my desk and showed me her book proudly...

Random Rants

i'm in the verbal diahorrea kind of mood.
haaa....

lazing in the staff room now..
the trainee teacher under me is teaching my science class now, wahahaaa

Yipeee.. i have a trainee teacher under my care and somehow it makes me feel alittle happy, haa.. partly due to the fact that she'll be taking some load off my teaching periods and more so, i feel like (finally!!!) i'm no longer the noob in the teaching career, haaa..
.. like, erm.. having the P-plate removed from your car? hehe

anyway, my bond will be over in 2 month's time, wahahhaa...
looking back, it has been almost 3 years into teaching already.. hmmm
high time to rethink if i should stay or..
leave, haa..

but i wanna study.
If only my school would release me for my study leave next year, i'll most probably plan to further my studies in NIE as a returning teacher for the following 2 years.
haaaa..

used to wan to settle down fast fast, get married, etc... but haiz,

sentosa!!! haaaa...
went with weijie to that island for some sun and fun..
and i took a loadful of photos, hahaa..


they have really revamped that island and there's definitely much more to see now, keke..
but most places still needed an admission ticket/fee to go in..
unless u wan to feed the mosquitoes at the 'free assess' areas like Fort Siloso, Herb & Spice Garden or Dragon Trail -_-

went for 2 rides, the SkyLuge and the SkyRide..
the skyluge is more like a go-cart kind of play, haa..

look at the queue man -_-

okay.. i know the helmets look silly ..

the "No drunk driving" rule applies here too -_-


and after u passed the 'driving test' u get a 'license'..
which is a stupid chop on ur hand -_-

anyway, it's quite fun la, haaa..

next we went on the SkyRide

it's damn high lor. quite scary actually, haaa.. especially when we're at its peak and they stopped it there -_-

they actually took our photos @ one of the towers so that they can make some extra cash when u pay 15 dollars for one stupid photo..
we, of cos, didnt buy lar..
just stand there, wait for the photo to be projected and snap it from the screen, haaa..
i clever hor.. heh..

anyway, we werent even looking at the camera -_-
plus i sit until damn orbiang lor.. -_-
nevermind ..

after which, we took an open-top double decker bus to siloso beach, wahahaa..

the instructors from I,Campers were really good with the discipling as well as the execution of the camp. we teachers just sat there, wondering in awe how they could get our usually rowdy kids to sit so still and follow their instructions..
HMmmmmm....
haaa... anyway, we had such a great time being entertained by the kids and the instructors.. played games and as usual, the teachers were being saboed to do stupid actions..

after the campfire, most of the teachers left.. 3 of my colleagues stayed with me for the night duty, haaa..

the kiddos spent their night in the school hall, while we teachers had the luxury to stay in the air-conditioned music room, teeheehee..
