Little Builders

Mason's preschool class went on a field trip to Lowes. They went on a tour around the store and saw how the saws worked and what different tools were used for. They got to touch all the different carpets and other flooring, they really wanted to touch all that they could!! They were so fun and curious about all that they saw. They gave each of the kids an apron and some safety goggles to wear and bring home with them. I love going and helping with the kids classed and getting to know their friends from school.

Valentine’s Day

Valentine's day was a fun busy day. We woke up to heart shaped pancakes and big smiles. I was able to go with Mason to his class today. The kids were all so excited and full of energy. They decorated valentine bags and handed out all their valentine's to their friends. Then they went to a little store called Paint Your Heart Out. They each got a little tile that they painted and put their hand print on. The kids were so cute. They each got to pick their own colors and make it their style. Mason painted his tile blue and then had an orange hand print (for the Broncos). His dad was proud! It was a really fun party for the kids. As soon as Mason's party was over we went to Dallin's school party. We took in cupcakes and the kids decorated them with all kinds of frosting and candies. Mason thought he was pretty cool to hang out with the big kids. He even got to play some games with them! They passed out their valentine's and were full of sugar and hyper the whole time. They had a lot of fun and I love that I can be a little part of it.

That night we had sweet and sour chicken (the kids favorite) and chocolate covered fortune cookies with valentine sprinkles for dinner. Then we gave the kids a little valentine from us. The boys had been begging and saving their money to buy skateboards. So we thought we would surprise them and got them each a new skateboard. They were so excited and took them straight to the basement to try them out. They were trying all kinds of tricks and Joe even tried a few. Little Aubrey go some new Tinkerbell clothes. She loved them! The boys gave us some sweet cards and showed that they loved us by the smiles on their faces and the happiness they have when we are together as a family.

Joe and I went out over the weekend to celebrate Valentine's day. I had some plans that fell through a couple days before, so Joe noticed I was bummed about it and decided to surprise me. We got a babysitter and left to go to dinner. Joe kept telling me we were having heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's, but I couldn't figure out how we were going to have that when we weren't at home. He thought it was funny that I really thought we were going to have that. As we were driving to dinner, which there are very few places to go here in Vernal, he got a call from the hotel. They told him he needed to come down because there was someone being arrested from one of the rooms. Joe was totally bugged because it was messing up our plans. We went to the hotel and it just so happened that it was his plan. We went up to the room that "the guy was being arrested" in and he had it decorated with a candle lit dinner. I was a little surprised and kind of on to him at the same time! It was really fun to have a nice dinner and not have to be at a noisy restaurant with a lot of other people. I loved that he put so much thought and planning into the evening. I am so lucky to have Joe to my very own! It was a perfect Valentine's date with a perfect Valentine.

Spring Fever

We are all getting so anxious for the snow to melt and for it to warm up. The boys really want to play out back on the grass, so they were going to find a way. They all headed out back with shovels and started shoveling the snow off the grass. It wasn't very deep up by the patio, but the further out they got it was at least a foot deep. They shoveled and shoveled and finally decided it was probably wasn't the best idea. It was so funny to watch them. They are determined to get rid of the snow!!!!

Playing too Hard!

So, I guess we made the kids play a little hard this past
weekend and now paying for it.  I took the 3rd kid to
the doctor this morning and now have 3 out of 4 on
antibiotics!  For some strange reason, strep has entered
our house and is taking over.  Aubrey, Mason, and Chase
are all down with Ear Infections and Strep.  Thank goodness
for antibiotics, it makes sickness bearable.  The only pro
to the sickness is all the cuddling and being a little lazy
without feeling too guilty.

A 4 Year Olds Style!!

You wouldn't think a little boy would care much about
what he was wearing, but our little Mason definitely
wants to pick his own clothes.  We always want to
remember how good he was at picking out outfits.
This is what he came out in before bed the other day!
He also wears his gloves every where he goes and
don't forget the sweet sweat band!!!! This is one
stylish kik and very proud of it!!!

He was nice enough to share and help Aubrey
out with her fashion as well!

Little Builders

Joe was building some shelves in the garage and the kids
got bored riding bikes and getting covered in mud, so we
gave them some scraps of wood, a hammer and some nails.
They were sure they were building a box for all their
treasures.  They worked on it like crazy, but it is a little
hard to make a box when the sides aren't quite the same
size and you mom gives you some really crappy nails!!!
They couldn't seem to get their box to hold together
right, and it all came down to the fact that I built them
a really sad box!

Our little Golfer!

The last week of Itty Bitty ball, the kids learned to golf.
Mason did pretty good and had a lot of fun.  The last day,
they set up a mini golf course for the kids and had Dizzy
the Dinosaur come and play with the kids.

Aubrey even tried to get in the middle of it all!

This guy wants Mason to sign up for golf when he gets older.
FOCUS!!
Chase and Brynnley got to have a turn too!
What kid doesn't love a dinosaur.

Warm and Cozy

We love to have visitors, especially when it is grandma and
grandpa.  Grandma instantly fell in love with the fireplace!
It seemed as though the fire was permanently on while they
were here.  We went snowmobiling one day and after,
grandma laid on the floor by the fire to warm up and Mason,
who can't pass up someone to cuddle with, curls up by her
and they both took a nice warm nap.  We are all trying to
convince grandpa to get her a gas fireplace, especially
grandma!

Our Princess

We love our baby girl!!! She is so fun, smiley, happy, loving
cuddly.... Aubrey is 10 1/2 months old already.  I can't believe
how fast the time has gone.  Some of her favorite things right
now are: food (she eats anything you give her and anything she
can find!) She loves her brothers more than anything and
seems to want to be just like them.  She loves to play with
cars, trucks, motorcycles, and balls (not much girl stuff). It could
have something to do with the fact that we don't have girl things
in our house!!  She loves to play the piano and anything else
that makes noise.  She loves action!  Hates to be strapped down.
Loves her blankies!  You are gauranteed a good love if you
are holding her favorite blanket!  Of course she loves her mom,
but her dad is on the top of her list.  "dad" is still about the only
word she will say.  She loves to do anything her brothers are
doing, even snowmobiling (in a snows storm!)  She tries to put
flowers in her hair.  She is just so fun to have around.
She is definitely our little Princess!

We were playing with her hair and Mason looked at
her and said "Mom, she looks like a girl!"  This poor baby
lives in a litte boy world!

We attempted pig tails with the little amount of hair we had
to work with.

Super Bowl Party?

So, we have never been without a crowd for the Super Bowl.  I
definitely need to work on my party planning skills.  We enjoyed
a nice take and bake pizza from walmart and Joe made some
smoothies.  It was pretty mellow, but still fun.  If you tell the kids
it is a party, it doesn't matter what you do.  Especially if they get
to watch football with their dad!

Mason is sure he is going to be a pro soccer player!

Our Little Hunter!

I guess moving to Vernal brings out the hunter in everyone!
The prairie dogs have been coming out lately (hopefully
that means it is going to start warming up)!  Dallin has been
begging to take his BB gun out hunting.  We finally gave in
and let him try.  There was a prairie dog right by our house,
so we let him take a shot.  He slowly walked out and found
a spot to kneel down and wait for him to pop up in the right
position.  He popped up and Dallin took one shot and dropped
the little guy.  He made us all come out and look at it, because
"it is the coolest thing ever".  So we thought we would share
his findings with all of you!  Dallin and his brothers are now
planning their prairie dog hunting video with narration and all!
We will keep you posted on the progress, should be funny!

Seriously,disgusting!!!

Tennis Anyone!

Mason has been playing Itty Bitty Ball the past few
weeks.  This week they played tennis.  Giving a bunch
of 3-4 year olds a tennis racket is a little scary, but funny.
Mason loved it, but hits the ball like a baseball.  He
loves playing all the sports and having something fun
to do.  He is such a fun, happy little kid!

Ole' Ole' Ole' Ole' Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake is touring around Utah with their championship
trophy and made a stop here in Vernal.  Of course we love
soccer (and any excuse to have something to do)!  So we
took the kids down to the rec-center to see Leo the
Lion and the trophy.  The kids didn't want to go in the
beginning, but then we couldn't get them to leave.  We
took pictures with Leo and the boys got to play soccer
with one of the Real players.  It was really fun and got the
boys excited for soccer season to start.

Mason's favorite stuffed animal is a Lion that looks like Leo!

The boys with the trophy.

The boys want one of these one day!

Sledding Day!!!

We had a whole day ahead of us with everyone home and
decided to go to the golf course sledding to burn some energy.
We thought for sure there would be some nice powder to land
in when we crashed, but when we got there all we found was
a whole lot of ice!! It made for a hard landing when you went
over the jumps.  We had to convince the kids that the jumps
were a bad idea.  They seemed to think it was really fun if it
hurt a little!  They all went up and down the hill a bunch of
times and didn't want to leave in the end.

Mason & Aubrey

Aubrey even loves going down the hill.

Dallin our crazy man.  Joe would spin them before they
started.  It was like a moving teacup.

Joe and Mason

Mason was so proud to have his daddy!

They boys insisted on wearing their helmets,
which we didn't oppose to.

Chase and his buddy Maddox

Aubrey was a trooper and took a little nap!

That dreaded Birthday!!!

Dallin came into my room this morning and said, "Happy 27th
Birthday Mom"!  I have trained him well!  Then Chase has to
keep reminding everybody it is 27+3!  That birthday has come
that I have been dreading.  I have only heard how everything
goes down hill from 30.  I got up to all the kids ready for
school and a sink full of dishes!  Joe took us out to lunch
at Cafe Rio and I hung out with the boys in the afternoon.
My sister convinced me that I couldn't have a birthday
without a cake, so the boys made me a birthday cake.
They did everything and I watched with a camera.  They
did a great job and Dallin discovered he likes to cook.
After dinner we topped off our activities with Pak Meeting
and then came home and ate a great birthday cake.
Great kids and a great husband make for a great day!

Dallin cracking his first egg and he didn't even get
any shells in it.

Aubrey wishing she could be part of the action!

Mason patiently waiting to crack his egg.

The cake is almost done.

Doesn't it look like Aubrey is telling the boys
what to do!  It is only the beginning!

You can't make a cake without licking the beaters

Aubrey loves chocolate!

The cake is in and the batter is gone!

The final product!!

Aubrey even got her own little piece and loved it.

Dad gave her an oreo to warm her up for the cake.
