Merry...X-mas?
I would like to discuss the word "x-mas"
Christmas was originally established to celebrate the birth of an individual who is the redeemer of the world and the salvation of mankind. Christ, however, apparently shares his birthday with another individual who has done just as much for humanity...the letter X.
I mean think about what the letter X has done for us! It made it possible to spell xylophone, it has been the leading authority on examining broken bones, and it's so easy to write! All hail X!!!
We should just take "In god we trust" off our currency and put "In 'X' we trust". No terrorist would dare mess with us then! We got the letter "X" on our side baby!
Seriously, it's a religious holiday. Why are we taking the religion out of it? To appease the atheists? If they want a holiday they can start their own religion called "Darwin-mas"
Think about it. You could have a little tadpole Santa and his 8 flying amoeba. Make a snowman shaped like a chimp. Wrap presents and blow them up in honor of the Big Bang Theory. It could be great fun! (actually that blowing up stuff sounds pretty cool...)
This is something that has bugged me for a long time. Every time I hear someone say "X-mas" I want to chuck my shoe at their head. In 3 cases I have done just that.
Where does it end?
Child: "Oh father, thank you so much for the dreidle on this holiest of days, X-ukka."
Other child: "Yay! Happy Kwanz-x!"
At least if we take Christ out of Christmas we will still have Santa. Who is a figure for a person called St. Nick...who was a religious person...hence the name "Saint"... You see the problem?
Bottom line, if atheists want to get rid of Christmas, then they shouldn't get the day off! See how anti-God they are then.
Tune in next week as Jonny analyzes the psychotic dream of a small child who fantasizes about glorified kitchen utensils fighting tyrannical rodents in a production known as "The Nutcracker"
(yeah it's kinda messed up when you think about huh?)

Daddy Daycare
After thanksgiving break, Cassie had to go back to work to support my 8 year path to graduation.
She loves me.
Since my classes are mostly in the evening, I get to watch Hailey during the day.
The kid is still alive so I'm assuming I'm doing pretty well. Hailey and I have an arrangement. She agrees not to poop on me and I agree not to drop her off at the nearest hospital.
It's a good deal.
Yesterday was a little rough because she just wanted to cry and be held all day. This makes playing video gam.... I mean doing homework very difficult. Little did I know that yesterday's grumpiness was a prequel to today's hell.
Apparently kids can do this thing where they don't poop for like 3 days and then they cash in. Hailey has developed this pattern of bowl movement. Yesterday she was grumpy because it was the end of day three. I think you know where this is going.
People...I have no words.....to describe...the horror... of today.
...
And it's only noon.
And to make things better, we are not adequately prepared for day 4.
I have been awake for 2 and 1/2 hours and changed her diaper 3 times. We ran out of wipes after the first time. This means Jonny has to find alternatives to cleaning her backside. Oh, and Cassie doesn't have her phone on her today so her advice is out. Luckily our friend Merideth did have her phone on her and advised me that using Clorox Disinfecting Wipes was a bad idea.
What?! I thought a wipe was a wipe!
So after wrapping a sweaty gym sock around my face to mask the smell, I went in for round 2 with no wipes. Just a rag.
You know what a warm rag is not good at cleaning up?
A 3 gallons of smelly poo with the consistency of mustard.
I hope no one is eating. If you are, apologize to your keyboard for me since your lunch just made a comeback.
After a poor job of cleaning said bum, I tried to put the diaper in the Diaper Genie. For those of you with kids, you know when the Diaper Genie is packed to the top and you still try to squeeze one it? You know what that does to a diaper? Makes it act like a sponge. Just for future reference.
But wait! It gets better!
yay.
During round 3... I was pretty sure she was done for the next 15 minutes. I was wrong.
Right in the middle of wiping...she released the atom bomb of poo all over me.
I screamed like a 6 year old girl and FREAKED OUT!
And I'm pretty sure she smiled at me.
Unfortunately our arrangement we had won't work out because Cassie and I have another arrangement. She comes home to a safe and happy Hailey and I don't have to go to the nearest hospital.
Well, I have to go boil my hand now. Have a great day everyone!

This Thing is so Fun!
Hailey loves this little seat! She sits in it while I get ready for work in the mornings and smiles, kicks, and talks to her little friend the whole time.

2 Month Check Up
Thanksgiving in Phoenix
She was even willing to share her favorite lamb with Hailey.
I didnt get any pictures of Kevin and his family but we had a lot of fun over there also. We hung out, ate more good food, Jonny got made fun of (always a good thing) by Kevin's dad, and just loved being there.
We had a great Thanksgiving and miss everyone.

Bath Time with Daddy
This little girl loves her baths! If she is being fussy and we take her in the bathroom and turn on the water she stops crying. Its so fun! Here are a couple videos. And if any of you ever doubted that Jonny would turn into a big softy there should be no room for question in your minds after you watch the videos.

Thanksgiving Tag
That should be great fun
Count ten of your blessings
Begin with number one.
Count to number ten
Then tag four others,
You can tag your friends,
Sisters, children or mothers.
4. The Gospel - I have been reminded that my testimony and the covenants I have made are the sole most important things in my life. We are so blessed that we can be sealed as forever families.
5. Our Ward - For the first time since we have been married I feel loved and accepted, and like I am an important member of my ward. The bishop knew who we were before our neighbor introduced us, they were working on getting our records before we asked to have them sent, they brought meals and gifts when Hailey was born even though we had only been in the ward 3 weeks, and so many people that I am still trying to get to know, know our names and who we are. For the past 2 1/2 years this has been such a struggle for me as we have just been a number lost in the wards we have been in. I believe I will be sad to move for once.
6. Jan Schiffman - She has been such an awesome friend and support to me. She hung out with me all summer, helped me through my pregnancy, was there for me while I was in labor since Mom couldnt make it, and is such an awesome example for me as a mother, a friend, a member of the gospel, and an advocate for saving the planet! (c; I have also borrowed so many things from her before I was pregnant and after, for Hailey so we didnt have to buy everything right away.
7. Our new car - We were able to trade in our Altima that was headed for a lot of problems, for a newer car that is nicer and one that wont make me feel like I am driving my daughter around in a sled when it snows.
8. Brownies - started craving them towards the end of my pregnancy and never really stopped.
9. Lower Gas Prices - I saw gas for 1.75 the other day. Enough said
10. Christmas - I love this time of year. Spending time with family, the decorating, the music, the extra kindness people show, being able to go home to warmer weather, the lights...I love everything that this time of year brings.
I tag Mom, Ashlyn, Lippy, and Chiara, and anyone else who wants to tell what they are thankful for. Just copy and paste the poem and have fun thinking about what you are thankful for. Thanks Laura

I'm Not Letting Go...
Sunday, November 9, 2008
Hi Everybody!
Here's your video Mimi. She's gotten good enough that I could catch it.
Oh and she's naked because we are in between dirty jammies and church clothes. This sometimes happens when church is at 1pm.

Pictures of our Sweetie
So tired last Sunday after church. I just like this cause she looks like a little frog.
My sweetheart!
