I dont feel peaceful not completing the Japan journal so im going to do so now. lol.
Day 6 - Metropilitan Govt Bldg, Shibuya, Harajuku and Akihabara
We went to have Yoshinoya breakfast again because my cousins love it so much. The menu is quite different from Singapore's because they serve pork there. The taste is quite normal though.. not something i feel is a must eat.
After the hearty breakfast we walked quite a long distance to the Metropolitan Building. Its a place where you can view Tokyo's skyscraper for FREE. My initial plan was to go to Tokyo Tower but a lot of online reviews recommended Tokyo
Metropolitan Building FREE observatory deck. But i sort of regretted not visiting Tokyo Tower. On our way back to the airport our bus passed by the tower. It was majestic! I will definitely go there the next time.
Didnt know Tokyo's buildings are so dense.
The view is very good, you can even rent a device where you can learn more about the history and story of each skyscraper. Thumbs up.
After that we went to Shibuya. I thought Shibuya is like Orchard Road where you can see loads of shops after you reach the station so i didnt do any research but to my dismay its not. So we just walked aimlessly around Shibuya.. luckily there were very nice Sakura trees around so not considered a wasted trip afterall.
The donut shop is so kawaii can! White building with pink sakuras. Romantic!
The cakes in Japan are all very pretty and tasty. Its something not to be missed when you are there. Expensive but worth it.
Best cream puff i'd eaten. SUPER CREAMY AND OISHII!!
Ive always been a fan of flip phone so when i see this phone shop i just zoomed in. Not too sure if they are smart phones but im sure they can be used to send emails. Thats what the Japanese love.
We left Shibuya early and went to Harajuku. This building just catches my eye. Harajuku is a very hip place i regretted not going there earlier. The shops close super early like 8pm+ so its impossible to finish shopping within a day because there are just too many shops! This is also a place where you can get CHEAP and fashionable stuff.
The crepe is very nice!!! The place is so pretty i dont mind queuing. Hmm makes little sense but yea im not a person who will queue for food. Feel like going back to Japan asap!!
Calbee shop selling all sorts of Calbee products. Cool or what.
Bought few bottles of Collagen drink because the packaging is too cute! The flavor is nice too. This one i had taste exactly like a fruit soda. No meddy or funny taste at all.
After the street is dimmed, we headed back to Shinjuku in search for dinner. We are very lucky to pass by this 24hrs Ramen shop and im glad my cousins insisted on queuing. There was a LONG queue for a reason. Its simply the best Ramen in Tokyo and i heard was featured in many TV programmes.
Small restaurants with vending tickets are quite a common sight in Shinjuku. You simply have to order your food via the vending machine, collect the tickets, pass it to the counter and wait for your food to be served. See how much we have ordered! haha. actually most of them are add-ons like seaweed, egg and fungus.
This place is like a exam hall where there is a little divider so your answer wont be copied. Cute right. It can be folded in if you want to.
The Japanese are just so thoughtful. There are even instructions to peel an egg.
Food is served from the rattan curtain. Cool or what. There is a tap at each seat so you can drink as much as you like. I miss the ramen!!! Its so nice i finish the entire bowl. *Slurp*
Didnt get to play Pachinko because we dont know how to so just walked one around inside and watched people play.
Day 7 - Shinjuku
We only get to do the real shopping on the last day. Actually all of us had a lot of Yen left but spent them all on Agnes b. and Burberry Blue Label on the last minute shopping :) See the buys.
Before we leave for Haneda we hurried to have our last meal in Tokyo. This place is near Yoyogi park. The chef that was nearer to where i was seated was very kakoii but too bad when i secretly want to snap a picture his face was covered. lol.
The food was not bad but i felt the ramen was a bit too soft and the broth was too thick.. or maybe i wasnt hungry at all thats why..
Went back to the place we seeked shelter from the wind on the first day. Bought more drinks at the vending machine and took wuliao photos of our luggages. Can tell which is mine obviously. I had a hard time packing all my stuff into the small luggage and hand carry.
Must be the thick clothings.
We took the last airport bus and camped at the airport until the next morning because our flight was too early. Even the airport has very interesting things to do. We played for quite sometime with this machine which is supposed to share some airport safety tips.
There are several games like hitting the cartoon dogs that was falling or standing there and let it detect your face then it will let you look as if you are wearing some accessories. Very fun.
We went to the outdoor observatory area but just stayed for few minutes because its just too windy and cold~~~ I miss the cold weather a lot!
Most of the shops were closed so i only get to see and take picture from outside this Sanrio store.
Last items we bought at the airport vending machine before boarding the plane. The middle one is mine cos i go for packaging and not taste. lol.The drink is nice though.
Overall it was a wonderful holiday and i hope i can go back soon. Ok i'll end this post with my buys. Guess you all will be interested though most of you may have seen me using them. ;)
The End.

Day 4 - Meiji Jingu Shrine and Ghibli Museum
Meiji Jingu is within walking distance from our hotel so we had a morning stroll to the shrine. Of course on the way we also discovered many good restaurants!!!
The way to Meiji Jingu with stretches of trees leading the way.. Very calm and peaceful feeling. It was a very long route but i enjoyed the walk a lot.
Before entering the shrine, everyone is supposed to 'cleanse' themselves by rinsing both hands and mouth. Yes mouth. I read about this before i went and told myself im not going to rinse my mouth with this water but i eventually did when i was there. lol. Always do what the Romans do. Few tourist even swallowed the water! Its clean though cos the fresh water flowed in from some water source.
The man is really a spoiler! Me & JL cleansing our spirit and soul..
I personally love this picture. Its worth an award. haha. Thanks to Mr Cool!
Well wishes hung on a hut stand. There were free papers and envelopes for you to write your wishes. Remember to put some offerings into the envelope before dropping into the 'wish box'. I like this place because there is no incense sticks or burning of incense papers, only praying.
JL getting her souvenir stamp. Its FOC.
Barrels of wine displayed outside the shrine. I think the main purpose of this is not for the barrels but the boys!!
Our all time favourite during this trip. They can be bought at any convenience store and are guaranteed fresh and delicious! How i wish i can eat them NOW!
We frequent this type of restaurant a lot. You just have to choose what you want and buy the coupon from the vending machine, bring it to the counter and wait for the food. Its relatively cheap and very convenient.
See! This is what we ordered. I know where your eyes are focusing on. The egg!!!! Super sexy right?!
This ice-cream is superb. The waffle, the ice-cream.. everything is perfect. If you are in Japan, be sure not to miss this. Im very sure you will get addicted.
JL recommended us to this Ghibli aka Totoro Museum and its a GREAT recommendation. Too bad no photography is allowed in the museum else we would have taken more than 5hrs. I bet. Everything is just so fascinating inside. When im blogging this i still feel like going back. Every single corner of this museum is true art.
Forgot to introduce. Basically this is a museum with loads of things related to the work of the founder of Totoro animation. All his work are shown there. Im not a big fan but i still enjoyed a lot. Its like a mini fantasy town.. the moment you step in you will see really nicely decorated windows.. you just have to look at every corner (even the ceiling) if you dont want to miss any interesting stuff. There are mini doors and mystery spiral stairs that will bring you to places where you will feel you are living in the animation.
There are also stations where they show how animations are actually done. I bought a souvenir from there and have not accomplish until now. It looks like a small fun fair.. hmm.. how do i describe it. anyway, i fell in love with the real thing there and bought the mini version home. I'll blog about it when im done. Its a DIY thing.
The ticket is really hard to get. You may not be able to get it even if you have the money so i think we are super lucky. The only place to get the tickets (the most realistic way for tourists) is via the vending machine in Lawson convenience store. Weekends are usually fully booked way in advance so you can try you luck for a weekday. They only allow crowd to go in in batches so if you miss the time to enter you may have to wait few hours for the next. The machine is quite difficult to understand.. we spent like around 20mins to figure out how to buy them.
The guardian robot from the Castle of the Sky! Its a super nice cartoon and im so happy to take picture with it. lol. Picture is allowed anywhere outside the Museum. This is on top and we have to walk quite a high spiral stairs to get there.
Even the basin is an art! Its a real working tap with the cat i think representing Cat Returns. I've watched this animation more than 5 times all thanks to An An & i dont know why he loves this piece so much.
Sakura trees outside Ghibli before blossom. Still a nice view though.
Guess this place from the menu. Its Waruku. The only thing i dont like about Japan is every indoor place you enter is so warm you have to remove your jackets and it very inconvenient especially for people with loads of shopping bags! Anyway back to the picture. They allow smoking in the restaurant?! I was kind of surprised cos i always thought Japan is no.1 for cleanliness and hygiene.
We requested for a place with no smokers around and ordered our dinner BUT to know the main purpose of this place is for drinking so you cant order any food before ordering a drink. Very lame. Anyway, the food is nice and CHEAP so worth a try.
Our crepe cake from a nearby patisserie. Kind of disappointing cos they are more cream than crepe! I tried the best one so far at Malacca and im craving for it now! Waruku's service was not too bad.. they still offered to put the cake in their fridge when they saw the cake box on our table. Thumbs up.
Day 5 - Tsukiji FIsh Market and Ueno Park
Pictures speak louder than words. haha.
Tsukijji market i felt is a can-skip. Maybe because i dont like wet market to start of with. There were nothing much loads of dead seafood and transporting vehicles that moves in and out from all directions 360deg! so it was quite dangerous.
The dry and food area is sooooo much better. We has our lunch in this traditional sushi shop where the chef prepares fresh sushi over the counter (with no conveyor belt) and serve them to you in a hearty smile. I was quite full from the food tasting and snacks so only ordered 3 sushi. The chawamushi and macha are complimentary. There was even free miso soup with loads of ingredients. I wonder how can they make money from customers like us. lol.
Day 4 - Ueno Park and Ameyoko Plaza
To see it to believe. This place is really like a pink heaven with two rows of fully blossomed sakuras leading a never ending path.
We watched a street magic show before this and get so mesmerized with the magician we donated quite a lot of money to him. Crazy but we were too rich then. All of us haven't spent much and have loads of cash left... on the 5th day.. surprising but true.
There is nothing but trees in this park but the beauty of this season, with the beautiful flowers are soooo attractive you can walk for 2hours.. or even more. They provide free picnic mats for you to sit down and relax, enjoy the scenery while 'gan pai-ing'.. which means drinking. The Japanese are just so amazing.. they can drink and get drunk anywhere, anytime.
After which we went to shop at Ameyoko, a street very near Ueno where you can get cheap souvenirs. Chris bought a foldable umbrella at less than SGD10.. and its very light. We also had cheap melons there. Guaranteed CHEAP and SWEET. They even have water near the stall for washing hands!
I think there is no picture but JL bought an expensive apple on our last day. Nothing special cos it taste the same as those you can buy in Singapore but i guess the apple has that bit of special taste in Japan. haha.
We rushed to Asakusa in search of Maids Cafe. It would be very weird for females to patron but since Chris is quite interested we dont mind going. Shops in Japan close superly early so more than half the shops were already close when we were there i think around 8pm.
We didnt get to find any Maids Cafe but lucky the trip was not a wasted one cos me and JL bought our fridge magnets there. ;)
We were really tired at the end of the day and me & JL suggested Mcdonalds since it was just right in front of us. Chris was a bit reluctant but im gald she compromised cos their menu is so different from Singapore's. It was spring so they have the Sakura burger. there is even potato and bacon pie (like a apple pie). Cool or what. Unfortunately we were too full to try.
Prawn burger!!! It was sooo nice i only remember to take picture after it was almost finished.
See even the lid has flowers designs. The 3 dents are the work of mine. wahahaha. In Singapore they are just circles but in Japan they have shapes of flowers. Very cool!
My favourite Cocoon Tower! Its in a shape of a bullet and i just cant take my eyes off this building every time i walk past it. Its really beautiful but i shot it uglyly.
I took this picture from Wiki to give its beauty justice. There are loads of skyscrapers in Tokyo and if you want to learn more you can go to their Government Metropolitan Building to view them for FREE. You can even loan a PDA lookalike gadget that introduces all the skyscrapers in details.
The one that caught my attention and curiosity is the Lotte office. Lotte if im not wrong. I remember it was a chewing gum manufacturer. The rectangular building was once wrapped like a chewing gum as an advertisement. Tried googling but to no avail..
Anyway very nice place to see skyscrapers ill blog more about it next time.
