Peek-Tute Friday with Juhi: Die-cutting with a twist

Hello everyone! It's Juhi. I am so excited to share my first tutorial for Peek-a-boo Designs. The focus of today's tutorial is die-cutting. I will show a fun and easy way to use the tiny negative die cut pieces of the Graceful Lattice die.
Here's the card I created.
I was inspired by this month's challenge theme, which is a color inspiration, you can find the details here.

To make the card:
I started with a piece of watercolor paper painted in colors of the rainbow. I stuck the watercolor panel onto a piece of same sized cardstock with some repositionable glue and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Graceful Lattice Die. The die only cut through the top watercolor paper layer, leaving the bottom cardstock layer intack. Then I peeled off the die-cut watercolor paper leaving the tiny negative pieces stuck on the cardstock panel. I made a start to finish video of how I made this card.
I hope you enjoyed watching the video! This technique will work with most background dies. I would  love for you to have a go at it!

Supplies used:
Graceful Lattice Die

Double Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die

Dream Word Die

Teacher's day project tutorial

Hello and good afternoon dear friends! ^__^

I'm Halak and a tad under the weather today, but I hope you are having a beautiful friday!

Today we'll be going through a tutorial that's fun + easy to make using the beautiful stamp set titled - Back To School

Note : This project is made as per the ongoing Peek-a-boo Designs (PABD) Challenge #7 guidelines so if you haven't participated yet, grab the old supplies from your stash along with something new you recently purchased, create a project and link up!
To participate, click >> HERE

PABD product list :

Let's begin the picture tutorial :

First I created a sentiment using the Back To School and Awesomeness stamp set.

Also stamped the ruler image.

Then, stamped the crayon stamp a few times.

Colored the crayons in different colors using paint and Sakura gelly roll pens.

I wanted the teacher's day sentiment with a couple of other elements from the set so once the crayons dried I finished off the remaining stamping.

Tip : Here I didn't bother masking the crayons (red and green) because I had decided that for this project, the ruler was going to be paper-pieced. If I would have selected coloring the ruler then I would have masked the crayons.

Using distress inks with a round blending tool, I applied ink lightly using the Arrows stencil.

Tip : To get a smooth look while stenciling without those irritating harsh lines, use a round blending tool.

Next I took a piece of patterned paper and stamped the ruler on it because I wanted to paper-piece that element.

Did you know : PABD has gorgeous Acrylic Blocks with laser etched grid lines for ease of stamping.

Paper-pieced the ruler, matted project onto red card base and added a few star shaped stickers.

Lastly, to finish it off added a few bits of washi and paper tape.

Tip : If you don't want to add bulk to your project and want to maintain the clean and simple (CAS) look, then washi tapes are a great embellishment option!

And that's how I did it! I know it's a bit early for Teacher's Day but if you plan to make cards in bulk, now is a good time to start and this stamp set is absolutely perfect for it! ^__^

Thank you for stopping by! *Hugs*

Peek-A-Tute Friday : Black Magic Technique !!

Hi Friends...how you all are doing ?? Its Vijaylaxmi Siyal and sharing a very fun technique with two variations !!

So today's tutorial is based on Black Magic Technique !!

This summer is already very hot & killing us with the high temperature ..so i have one cool card too for you guys at the end of the post..but before that see my Black Magic .. ;p ..LOL.. Just kidding ;p

So now come back to the tutorial...here it is step - by - step --

1) Black Magic Technique With Emboss Resist & Black Ink -

Steps -

1) I used the following supplies for this technique -
- PABD Black Card Stock
- PABD Swirly Lines BG Stamp
- PABD Bold Hugs 'n' Love Stamp Set
- PABD Acrylic Block 4*6"
- 3-4 Distress Inks
- Clear Embossing Powder
- Versa-Fine Watermark Ink
- Heat Gun
- Violet CS for the base.

For this card i took a white cs of 4*4 " ...Distressed it with 3-4 colors of DI ...!!

2) Then i Took PADB Swirly Line BG Stamp & Using PABD Acryilic Block, Stamp it on the colored panel with Versa-fine Watermark Ink.

 3) Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder & then Heat Set it !!

4) Now comes the fun part -- I took my Momento Dye Ink Pad & Rub that directly on the CS until it covered all the panel fully black ..!!

5) Then Using wet baby wipes i swipe off the Ink from the cs and there the magic happens..:) All the embossed area does not absorb the black ink and they came out clear and hence the color under them :)
Look how pretty the whole Background :)

5) I tried the same Technique with Versafine Onyx Black Ink & After wiping off the ink with baby wipe this was the result !! And i am not impressed with this one so chuck it..!! Versafine doesn't work for me :)

2) Black Magic Technique With White Pigment Ink & Pencil colors -

Steps -
1) I used the following supplies for this technique -
- PABD Black Card Stock
- PABD Peonies Love Stamp set
- PABD Acrylic Block 2*3"
- Pencil Colors
- Colorbox white Pigment ink
- White CS for the base.

2) Stamped the solid peony with white Pigment ink on Black CS from PABD Peonies Love Stamp.

 3) This is how it looks after stamping the all elements.

4) Start coloring using pencil colors only when your white Ink  dries completely...i didn't wait for its complete dry so did a mess ;p But no worries you can use black pencil color to cover all silly mistakes ..magicccc ;p

 5) Heat embossed the sentiment From PABD Awesomeness Stamp in white in center ...!! Taddaa..we are done ...mat it on the card stock with Silver glitter stripes on both sides & some blings for extra touch !!

I hope you enjoyed this Tutorial & Do try any of these technique but don't forget to share with us !!
