Church

Looking through the glass window
This aquarium of a community
The glass cased life
Sheltered and self-sufficient
Full of song and personal highs
I'm here on the outside
Looking on the inside
I do not want what they have
When what they have is
What I've had before
And it left me cold
I was bruised
I hid my bruises
I cleaned up my own mess
To belong and be loved
I want love
Some warmth and safety
I was given a note
Some matches and woods
And a few kind words
Falls like an anvil
Instead of a life ring
to a drowning man
I'm here on the outside
Looking on the inside
Working on
my matches and woods
I do not want what they have
When what they have is
What I've had before
I was left to make myself warm

Too noisy!

Just random thoughts in my puny brain right now:
The office is heaps noisy at this moment. Due to - PS06 that is right around the corner, school kids being off and our kids and uni pastor that just broadcast "musical" announcements over the phone. Adding on to that, boxes of stuff are piled over everywhere! Honestly, with the size of conference that we're running, this office in small little suburb of Box Hill is bearing too much! Too much! :) Oh well, it'll have to do for now.
A close friend of mine has left Melbourne for good. She didn't manage to catch her last sunset too. I have no idea how i'll do life without her. God help me!
Yesterday, was a very very bad day. You guys have no idea.
There's this after taste of the tap water that i'ved drank from our tap water. Eeew. Normally i bring enough water to last me for the 8 hour toil, but today i had Maggi for lunch and the ajinomoto is getting to me! - Dying of thirst.
AJ did very, very well for her SAM. Like insanely, prestigiously, fabutastically superb! I'm so proud of her. And i think the standars' set for my younger sister. Though i did not set any at all :)
Ok, gotta go design offering envelope!
Blessed Christmas everyone...

Spot the difference! - A photographer's worst nightmare

You know why when you count 1-2-3 SMILE, which means that not only are you suppose to smile but keep your eyes open at the same time. But somehow there are people who find it a difficulty just doing that! Hah :) Below is a short series of pictures taken by me to illustrate the above point. Just to add that this was a series back to back! You won't believe it!

Hence- the title of this blog... Their ma ma's the best. :p

p/s just to add that my housemates are the best! (better say this before they kick me out of our apartment) :)

Shoes...

I'm right now seating here frantically searching for a pair of shoes that doesn't belong to me but to my mummy. I have no idea where did i place it. Ever since the arrival of a few guests of my housemates, i can't seem to find anything :( I need to find it to return it to the shop because it was the wrong pair. And yes, mum now i know which one it is. Won't get it wrong this time! Hah!
See ya'll in church!

A new journey

Sue Anne's graduation. Congrats my dear friend. :)

L-I-F-E

It has been a heck of a week. Or rather a heck of a month. But now there's quietness and that stillness at unit 12 which i will savour and appreciate till it lasts no more. I have recently been very overwhelmed by all the happenings - the stretching has been tremendous, more than i thought i could ever bear. Thank God that my rubber band is pretty elastic.
Next year there will be a number of events that will trigger a significant change in my life. I often wonder whether can i ever adapt to them or better still, do i even want to try? I feel that I have no control on my life what so ever. It's as if that I'm just leaving as though one day comes and then the day ends and the next one comes. I simply detest this! The transition period is still happening. Sometimes I wish I never ventured out beyond the stable life my family would have afforded me had I not left Malaysia in search of greener pastures. The thought of living at home until I am ready to get married doesn't sound too bad right now. Sadly, as ideal as that may sound, I have eaten the forbidden fruit and am banished from the garden of eden. The garden of eden being serenity and bliss experienced only in ignorance.
Life is tough.

Yes guys, i apologize for not posting earlier. Have been very busy since i got back - trying to catch up and all. For those of you who are asking, I'M NOT MARRIED YET. Don't you all worry, if i'm attached, the whole world will know! Hah! Not because of me but simply because of some friends that will just broadcast to the whole world. :) Like CNN someone once said.
Anyway, enclosed are some pictures of my trip back home. I honestly didn't take as many as i love to simply because there was no time.
Well, with whatever right now, ENJOY

The Family

The trip was one that i will remember for a lifetime. I can't take my mind off of the entire 6 days. It's one that i will treasure for eternity to come. I'm blessed to have a great immediate family who will sacrifice everything and anything within their means just to give me the best. Not forgetting the best extended family one can ever have. I'm blown away to be known as a Chuah. Each and every single one of them has added COLOURS to my life. They have made my life more interesting than what i ever thought possible.

No money, no talk? NOT!

Today was a great day indeed. Firstly, i woke up at 7:30am which surprised me. Well kind of anyway because i was in dreamland at 8:30pm the night before! Hah! Cooked a BIG breakfast for housies and Jeffrey which was not an event particularly frequent in my life. :) You know when there are days where you feel to just hang around and do nothing much. Well today's the day for me! I decided to go "somewhere" to take some shots. To keep the long story short, i was "drawn" to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). And the great thing was, everything was FREE. And i mean F-R-E-E! It was a collaboration between NGV, Federation Square, Melbourne Museum and Vic Arts Centre. Indeed my knowledge of the arts has increased tremendously.
The main artist that i was interested in was Albert Durer. Basically he carved pictures into wood or steel. Indeed a form of art that invovles a lot of hard work. I myself was intrigued at the collection they had at the NGV. A good 3 hours was spent there just admiring the beauty of pieces that were dated back to 600 years ago!
And then off to the Vic Art Centre. I was esctatic that there was this ballet rehersal that i could attend. Well that was really great after 3 hours of walking around... Just seating down and relaxing and seeing all the foot work of dancers was a treat. I then proceeded to a backstage tour of the Vic Arts Centre. I saw the dressing room that Michael Buble used!! :) Then i went for this jazz concert by this melbourne jazz coinesseur. The Fairfax Hall wasn't full at all. In fact there were more empty chairs then there were people. But the main point of this open day was that everyone got to have a glimpse of the "behing-the-scenes" and all the happenings in putting up a show. Halfway through the concert, you'll see the musician putting up their hands signalling the sound people to increase their fall back or something. That is totally unheard of in a "paid" concert!
That was Vic Art Centre then i proceeded to Ken Duncan's gallery... I admire him that he's never ashamed of the gospel. He'll be in Melbourne for a book signing session this coming Saturday and i can't wait. Just need to see him in person. The lady at his store says that he's jsut an ordinary "bloke". In fast he's pretty daggy! Hah! Anwyay, i got myself a Ken Duncan photography book which obviously i'm gonna get him to autograph.
That's my day! All in all i believed God planned everything. I believe that he was showing me that i could enjoy myself and yet NOT spend any money!
How cool is that? But it kinda freak me though. Posted by Picasa
This wall was amazing. It's made up of 500,000 marbles and there's like tapes, nails, screw drivers etc. The use of is like a time capsule. Posted by Picasa
