Bears, Oh, My!

It all started with plastic container of little balls of yarn my second week at the Humanitarian Center in Mesa. I happened to walk into the 'Alpha and Omega' room where they sort thru the bins sent over from Deseret Industries and one of the sorters was kind of standing there looking at this tangled mess. I asked her what she was going to do with them and she said she wasn't quite sure. So, I volunteered to take them home and make bears. She delightedly agreed. I dumped them all into a grocery sack which barely held them and took them home, little realizing what I was getting into. I spent the first evening just untangling and rewinding. I decided that it would be fun to see exactly how many bears I could get from a sackful of wool sock yarn. So, Bill and I took pictures of the 'Before' and I began crocheting. 3 1/2 months later I finished. Grand total? 43!
