More Swirlydoos.... I have a card tutorial for you today:

Using our Super GORGEOUS September, "Vintage Love"  kit
I created this card.

And of course..... We at Swirlydoos love to share!!!!
So I did a step by step tutorial for you. Here we go:

****************************************************************************

For my background I cut a piece of PP at 5.1/8 x 8.3/4

Using my Distress ink (Tattered Rose & Spun Sugar) I got around the edges of the paper. Then I gently, distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Then I cut my second layer of PP at 5 x 8.1/2

I trimmed the edges with deco scissors. This way it is easier to "heavy" distress.

Distressed the edges using the Ingvild Bolme, distressing tool.

Then I glued the second layer to the first and with a little gesso I rubbed the edges. I glued both of these layers to my base card.

I cut the black lace in half

And glued it at the top like so.

I changed the color of the pink lace, by simply using my Vintage Photo Distress inkpad. Swiped it over my craftmat, and spritzed it with water. Then when you add the lace, make sure it is all saturated. Squeeze the lace out and dry with a heat tool.

I glued it at the bottom of my card.

Then I cut 2 of these tiny little strips. On one of the barcode strips there is this print. I cut the barcode strip in half. (lenght-wise)

I inked the edges and glued them at the top, right under my fold back edge, and at the bottom, right under the lace.

I glimmer-misted this beautiful Chipboard piece in gold. Then after it dried I added some multi medium and the mica flakes, that came in the Main Kit, in various spots. After that dried I went over it with a little Inka gold.

I hold the chippie to my card and with a pencil.........

I traced the inner circle.

Then I took some black gesso, (you can use black paint fot it too) and rubbed with my finger over the marked circle.

I stamped and embossed my sentiment.

Then I glued my CB frame to the card.

I glued some tiny featers behind the already beautiful Prima flowers that came in the Main Kit.

And started playing with layering flowers and leaves. As you can see, I always cut my leaves in pieces, to get more use out of them.

Glued the flowers and leaves in place.

I added some pearl strand to the top.

And I brought some hihglights to the center, using Gesso.

I added some liquid pearls to the CB frame, to add even more interest.

and also to the top of the card

and of course the bottom of the card.

And I called it done. I hope you like it.

More Swirlydoos.....

Happy Saturday.

This card was made using,  Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kit Club, September kit.
I created it for our Card Round Robin Challenge, which is open to anyone.
Member Jennie, is our hostess this month and she gave us these awesome twists:

#1 Use a stamped sentiment
#2 Use a tag on your card
#3 Use something rusty

It's just like you.......
I had the honor to follow our DT member Maggi
I kept the sqaure card design and also the flower placement on the right lower part.
The tag however I moved to the left, The sentiment is a HeroArts stamp and I used Archival ink in both coffee and jetblack.

For the rust, I added MultiMedium and cinnamon to my metal corner,

as well as on the big metal gear. I also used a fussy cut clock, like Maggi did in her card.
I hope you like it.

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!

*************************************************************
First let me say that, my kit is held up in costums, so I bought a few sheets of the Prima paper that is in the kit at my LLS. So, for my projects I have used different embellies
(from previous kits or from the Swirlydoos Boutique)
But here's what I've come up with so far.

Explore

This is my little grandson, Levi. He and his mom and dad were with us, during our summer vacation and of course grandpa and grandma, bought him a sandbox
(don't know if that is the right word for it)
He didn't know what to do with the sand at first, but later he enjoyed it.

Tag Set
Gosh, how much I love these beautiful Prima papers. Vintage Shabbyness I call them.

Here are the tags one by one:
To get that splash effect at the left top, I used Distress Stain in Antique Linen and I made sure that the dabber was loaded with ink and then I just dabbed once, not so gently, onto my paper. The ink splashed around and I really love the effect it gave. Then on top I dabbed some Distress Paint, using my finger.

Nothing to say about this one. Just fussy cut the oval and flowers, raised the oval from the tag using cardboard underneath.. And then I glued (Beacon 3 in 1) some pearl strand around it, and added a few flowers.

I think that this is my favorite!
I did some stenciling on the right side and made a faux envelope-fold. The metal coin is something that I found and I just treasured it for a long time. It was time to put it to use.
The feathers are also from a "pick up" from the ground whilst we were at the zoo.
The lace, I don't know the brand, cause I picked that up at a local flea market.

Blanco Card
Everyone who knows me, knows I just love to work with scraps. I love to puzzle with those little snippets!

Take Time To.....

Another sample of playing with scraps. These were excess-corners, from a cutout circle. I glued them togehter and made it look like I had cut out an oval, just for this card. I love how it came out. The lace was died with Distress ink in Tattered Rose. After I completed my card I gave it a little extra glim, by using Iridescent Medium in random places.
