Have a Rocking Birthday

Hello creative people,

Today I am here with a layered and heavily embellished card. A client of mine wanted to give a very masculine card to his boyfriend and I came up with this

I thought of every element which was associated with birthday party and was in the liking domain of a boy. Lol.. And then took out all relevant supplies as guitar stamp and propose a toast die from PTI, glasses die from Paper Smooches, headphone die from MFT, and sketch heart Die from SSS (after all this card was for BF ). The sentiment in the card is from Keep on Rockin' stamp set from MFT. And here goes the process:
Step 1: I chose some grey card stock for card base as well as layers. I took a grey card stock 1/4"smaller than card base and put black glitter washi tape on all four sides.
Step 2: I took another card stock 1/2" inch smaller than card base and stamped some script from 2-3 different stamps in versamark and heat embossed it with charcoal embossing powder. To make this grey color darker I sponged some black soot distress ink over it.  It made such a subtle and attractive background that you can possibly appreciate it to full when you look it in person.
Step 3: I took a stripe of black card stock and stamped the sentiment with versafine and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. ThenI cut fish tails in this stripe on both ends.
Step 4: I stamped guitar with black archival ink and fussy cut it, die cut two wine glasses (one in sparkling silver and one in red). I also die cut headphone, glasses and sketch heart. To make heart more attractive I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder as well.
Step 5: I tried different arrangements and settled for the one showed in picture and glued every thing at their respective places. Guitar and one wine glass were foam mounted to give some extra dimension.
Step 6: While assembling I first sponged some black soon on card base to match the color and then   I foam mounted the card stock with washi tape border on it and then glued the top layer with embellishment on it. The washi tape provided very charming as well as sparkling border.

And this completes it. My client is super happy. Hope you also like it.

Miss You

Hii,

Its weekend here already an we have to attend a family function as well. So this post will be really quick. This weeks the inspiration picture of Paper Smooches Sparks Picture perfect challenge is so pretty. You can have a look at it.

It made me think of fall theme going everywhere on blogs but in India we don't celebrate fall really. October is packed with lot of festivals but they are mostly associated with lord Rama. I said its goig to be a quick post right? Lol..
So I came up with this card

I have lot of Paper Smooches stamp sets but lately I  have fallen with digi stamps so thought of using one from Paper Smooches free digi stamps. I printed these cute leaves in two sizes on water color paper and colored them with distress inks ( picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, festive berries and mustard seed) and fussy ,s them. I know it was a lot to do but I enjoyed it and leaves too look really cool.
Next, I took  a water color paper 1/4" smaller than my card base and generously painted it with water. Once it was completely wet I started painting  with weathered wood and black suit inks. I dried it and sprinkled some ink with brush over it and thus my background was ready.

I stamped the sentiment in the middle and foam mounted the panel over card base. Then assemble the leaves around the sentiment. And to express the emotion visually I left the pattern incomplete. Hope,I am making sense :)

That completes my card for today.
Hope you like it..

Smile is the best thing

Hello Creatives!!

Runway Inspired Challenge is one of my favourite challenges and I am really glad that I am participating in this time. The inspiration picture; the costume designed by Emilio de la Morena is really cool.  Haven't you seen it? No problem. Here it is..

And after looking at it lot of times I came up with this card

I got my inspiration in this fabulous color combination. And This may sound funny but I started designing this card around the sentiment. I have recently bought this beautiful Jillibean soup stamp set and wanted to use it desperately. So following are the steps I followed to make this card:

Step 1:  I tool a white card base 1/4" smaller than card base and dry embossed with the very relevant embossing folder (Darice Dress form small.Thank God I had it in my stash.) and then sponged it with salty ocean distress ink.
Step 2: I cut a 2' wide vellum stripe and stamped the sentiment in onyx black versafine ink and clear heat embossed it to prevent smudging.
Step 3: This step was most difficult one.I wanted to embellish this card with same color combination as that of skirt of the model. It had many colors as blue, pink, purple, yellow green etc. To convert that thought into reality my Avery Elle Laurels stamp set and dies came to rescue. I pulled out all my inkpads and tried many combination to achieve same kinda color combination. And when I was happy with the result I diecut them.
Step 4: I started assembling the card by first sticking the vellum stripe to the dry embossed panel and foam mounting it over the card base. Just to give the look as if vellum stripe is held by brads I put two enamel dots on either sides of sentiment :)
Step 5: I arranged the flowers and leaves symmetrical and when I was happy with the arrangement I glued them, added a clear wink of stella over them and card was ready!!

I am really happy that this card is also eligible for Cas-ual Friday's Cas-ual Chic challenge #04 as well. I am going for third row (Distressing, sparkling and embossing)

I hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed it making :) Do let me know !!

Rainbow and Sky

Hello people,

Parul here.. As soon as I saw the ongoing Sparkle and Shine challenge, the first thing which came to my mind was RAINBOW. So I thought of using my rainbow die from Paper Smooches, I was dying to use since I had bought it.  My today's card started with the rainbow and looked like following after completion..
This card turn out very pretty and I decided to gift it to one of my crafty friend. I hope she likes it. Layout wise this card is inspired by very talented crafter Neha's this card. I always wanted to make something like that :)
I have decided to write out the complete method in steps from now onwards. Following are the steps I took to make this card:
Step 1 I die cut the rainbow and sponged the distress inks on stripes in various colors as in rainbow.
Step 2 I took a card stock 1/4" smaller than card base and die cut the largest label from spellbinders label 17 die and sponged the negative with tumbled glass and salty ocean distress inks.
Step 3  I took a white card base and marked the outer edge of label negative with pencil and sponged salty ocean distress ink on rain drops stencil, within the marked area.
Step 4  I stamped this beautiful sentiment from Wplus9 Guiding light sentiment with black versafine ink within the marked area at desired place adhered the rainbow strips as per my plan.
Step 5 I took some dark blue card stock cut the 2 die cuts with Memory box cityscape die and adhered one die cut at the bottom of marked area and foam mounted some parts of second die-cut upon it. It added some dimensions to the buildings. Here is the closer look:

Step 6  At last, I foam mounted the negative die cut panel and that completes my card for today. One more picture is as following:
I hope you like the card and do tell me if writing the card making process in steps is better.

I am beary Sorry..

Hello all,

Second post for the day. Is it true?? I think I need to pinch myself and check if I am daydreaming. Lol.. Considering my irregular blogging, writing two posts a day is something I need to do a reality check upon..Well, lately I have been in love with digital stamps. I discovered about digis recently and was amazed to see how much possibilities they have in terms of size variation and coloring ( no need to worry about bleeding ink :P). And the credit goes to Erum Tasneem. Her work with digis is a real treat for eyes..
My today's card also uses a bear digi from Beccy . The expressions of this bear are so beautiful and I thought it will make a great sorry card. And here it is..
My card is somewhat inspired by DT Erum Tasneem's card on Lia Stampz challenge blog. This time challenge is all about Animals.
First of all, I colored the bear with Faber Castel sketch pens and fussy cut it.  Then to prepare the background I smooshed evergreen bough, salty ocean and peacock feathers distress inks on my craft mat and sprayed some water and kept a water color paper on it. Dried it with heat gun and again put on puddle of inks. Repeated it till I got the desired result. Next step was to make the frame. I put two MFT inside out rectangular dies on white card stock and ran it through my Bigshot. I sponged this frame heavily with evergreen bough distress ink. So now background, frame and bear were ready I went ahead with sentiment. I designed this sentiment ( there was no designing actually.. LOL) in Microsoft Word and printed it. I then cut it with a speech bubble die. Just to add some interest I also die cut some more bubbles from scrap papers.
To assemble the card I first adhered the smooshed background to the card base and glued the bear, and speech bubbles on it. I spread some beads and sequins over it. Further I put an acetate behind the frame and foam mounted it on card. And hence beautiful shaker card was ready.

I hope I did justice to this beautiful digi.

I am awed....

Hello everybody!!

I am back with another card. Today I have used Hope stamp set from Paper smooches. As and when I saw this stamp set I remembered of my two aunts who have recovered from Cancer recetly. I really feel proud of both of them.  I thought it would be great to make card for them. So here it is..

Each and every element is from the same stamp set. I must say it has been designed wisely. I first took a white card stock and repeatedly stamped the  [hope love faith] in black memento ink. This stamp indeed makes a beautiful and relevant background. Later I die cut three labels one in pink, one in white and one in vellum. I stamped the Cancer ribbon in pink on white one with bubblegum Hero arts die ink and heat embossed the sentiment and lovely ribbon on vellum with black embossing powder. It looks super cool. I stacked all these labels and punched them on top to add a silver thread.

To finish my card I provided black mat to stamped background and foam mounted it to white card stock. Then adhered the label assembly on it. I put a little glue in between labels to keep them in a place and added few sequins over it just to make it complete.

I enjoyed a lot making this card..Hope you like it..

Way to Go!!

Hello friends,

I am playing at recent challenge of CASology and the cue card says "Science". After seeing the cue card the first though which came to my mind was to use my brand new deepred Quantum background stamp. It was so made for this challenge..
here is my card

I took a white card stock and stamped the background with charcoal die ink from Heroarts. Because of cloudy weather picture is not perfect but its a light black colour and gives a  really nice and subtle background against black. The size of this background stamp is bit small so had to stamp in instalments. I have recently purchased  words to rescue  stamp set from Stampers Anonymous for it has really nice sentiments. I took a black card stock, cut out a banner out of it and stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat embossed in white.
To assemble the card, I foam mounted the white panel on black card base and glued the banner on it.  Just to give a finishing touch added few black sequins along with some black enamel dots.

Hope you like it.
